PDP and BJP left Chenab Valley people high and dry: Saroori

JAKYAS, JULY 31: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has said that time has come for the people of Chenab Valley to punish the PDP and BJP for the "total let-down on all fronts", particularly on the promise of restoring the prestige of the area by eradicating regional discrimination.

"People have been left high and dry while the BJP, in alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ignored the state for three years with its Delhi high command colluding in substantial measure, before enacting a drama of breaking the alliance," Saroori, said while addressing Congress workers at Bhalessa, Chinyas, Batyas, Jakyas, Bathri Kahara areas in Inderwal constituency.

Saroori said the previous BJP-PDP Government did not make any efforts to relieve the weaker sections of their hardships. He said incompetence of BJP and PDP pushed back State in all sectors and no progress has been recorded in the core sectors like PHE, PDD, R&B, Health, Education, etc during last three years.

He said that while the insensitive PDP and BJP failed in assuaging urges and aspirations of the people on political front, its record in governance was quite dismal. "The state was virtually witnessing mis-governance with Government nowhere to be seen on ground", he said, adding that if all there is any visibility of the PDP and BJP anywhere in the state, it was for all the wrong reasons of exploiting people and inciting them to fight each other.

Saroori said the efforts of the Congress coalition government during its tenure on putting the state on the path of progress and normalcy have been undone by the ‘anti-people coalition'.

Later at MLA Inderwal’s residence dozens of political activists from different parts of Inderwal constituency joined Congress party in the presence of G. M Saroori Vice President JKPCC.

While joining the party they said that they are fully convinced by the programmed and policies of the party and have faith in its leadership and want to strengthen the party. Mr. Saroori welcomed them in the party fold and asked them to work untidily to strengthen the party at gross root level in their respective areas.

SRINAGAR: - The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president G A Mir Thursday lashed out at both PDP and BJP “for pushing the State to the worst ever social, economic, political and security situation in the State”, saying that PDP-BJP combine has remained the source behind deep alienation among the people in all the three regions. He said people heaved a sigh of relief after PDP-BJP Government fall.

JKPCC Chief was accompanied by legislators G. M Saroori, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Mohammadd Amin Bhat, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, General Secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah and other senior leaders of the party was addressing a day-long delegate convention of Dooru Assembly Segment at Omoh Verrinag.

Mir said the toppling of Government unceremoniously will not save the BJP from the damages, for the fact “people have realized that this party has vitiated atmosphere in the country due to their wrong approach”.

“PDP and BJP presided over darkest era of the State, and are now blaming each other for the mess in the State, both the parties have played with the emotions of the people to serve their vested interests, when the BJP realized that it has lost the credibility and trust of the people, they toppled the Government to divert the attention of people from its failure,” he said.

Mir said people will give a befitting reply to both BJP and PDP for the losses they have caused to State and people. He said people feel sigh of relief after toppling of the PDP and BJP Government “as that both the parties victimized and discriminated against them after securing votes”. They played with emotion of the people for the sake of coming into power, Mir said.

MLA Inderwal and vice president JKPCC said PDP BJP misled the people “on the so called Agenda of Alliance”. Where is that agenda, he questioned. After completing three an d a half years, BJP toppled the Government to divert the attention from its failures. He urged upon the cadres to strengthen the party more and remain steadfast to serve the people.

MLA Sopore and vice president PCC Ab Rashid Dar hit out at PDP and BJP “for encouraging corruption, nepotism and favoritism after assuming power”. He said PDP and BJP regime has brought miseries to people and all the promises made by them have fallen flat.

Mohammad Amin Bhat, MLA Devsar while addressing the delegates said that PDP and BJP were responsible for mess in the state. They pushed the State to wall, all the good worked done by UPA I and UPA II have been undone, he said.

MLA Shangus Gulzar Ahmad Wani also addressed the meeting and urged upon the delegates to strengthen the Congress party, “Although the party is a vibrant situation in all the three regions, but they need to work hard in the interest of the people, for the fact, Congress party is an instrument of service to the people”.

Those who addressed the meeting also included Farooq Mir, Ali Mohammad Mantoo, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Gh Mohi U Din Bhat, Mohammad Iqbal Ahanger, block presidents and others.

DADPETH, JULY 30: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori toured Weythana, Dadpeth and Kuriya areas and listened the grievances of common masses.

MLA Inderwal was accompanied by the officers of PWD (R&B), Rural Development, besides local congress party workers and inspected the ongoing works under various schemes of his legislative constituency. He also inspected the construction of road from Dadpeth to Weythan constructed by R&B at a cost of Rs. 5 crores under NABARD scheme.

While addressing, Saroori called upon the party & youth Congress workers to approach public and expose the truth behind the anti-people policies of the BJP, NDA governments since past four years. The funding has been stopped or curtailed to all those schemes which are directly linked with common masses including MGNREGA, water supply scheme (NRDDA), failed in kicking start the RGGVY phase II scheme which will provide electricity to every households, no pension case sanctioned after 2014. He has questioned the role of the PDP and BJP which always indulged in rhetoric’s on the issue for the sake of its domestic politics and is now shedding crocodile tears, blaming each other. He also accused the centre government for following an inconsistent and zig-zag policy towards Kashmir.

“Congress party has rendered innumerable sacrifices to fight for the unity, integrity and dignity of Jammu and Kashmir and will continue to thwart all attempts to erode the State’s special status. We will fight against all ploys to assault Article 35-A and won’t allow the powers that be fiddle with our political status and honour”, Saroori said while appealing to the youth to come forward to further strengthen the party as it faces numerous challenges and machinations at this crucial juncture.

Underlining the importance of better road facility for the development of the region Saroori said that the better quality of road is the pre-requisite for the development of an area and once an area is connected with road than its development is assured. He was addressing gathering after resolving the issue of construction of road for Weythan area. Saroori said that projects amounting to several crores including lift water supply scheme for Dadpeth, Kuriya to Loidhar via Kuchan road under PMGSY have been sanctioned due to his hard efforts which will benefit the general public. He also assured the people that the remaining pending demands of the local people are in his knowledge and will be resolved on priority.

Later dozens of political activists from Chatroo, Udeel, Kahara joined Congress party in a simple but impressive function organized in the residence of MLA Inderwal. Welcoming the new entrants in the party fold, Saroori expressed the hope that by their joining will further strengthen Congress at grass roots level.

CHATROO, JULY 29: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori conducted a whirlwind tour of Chatroo and Mugalmaidan areas and inspect the pace of work on several developmental projects.

During the visit, MLA Inderwal inspected the progress on the beautification project of Chatroo-Sinthan. He was informed that an amount of Rs 5 crores was spent in the first phase while the second phase involved a cost of Rs 2.5 crores. "The tourism industry is the backbone of the state and he as a MLA has taken all the steps to ensure that tourism gets a boost in the Inderwal constituency,” he said and asked the concerned officers to speed up the completion of projects so that it becomes a big attraction for tourists.

En route, Mr. Saroori met several deputations from Mugalmaidan and Chatroo tehsils who apprised him of their day-to-day problems and sought their redressal. A deputation of Tourism department employees also met Mr. Saroori and demanded regularization, streamlining of their salaries, the landholders who have given their land for the construction of tourism projects have also soughed disbursement of Rs. 70 lakhs compensation at an earliest. MLA Inderwal assured them that appropriate steps will be taken to resolve their genuine issues in a time bound manner.

Earlier Mr. Saroori exhorted upon the senior functionaries to intensify monitoring for effective implementation of schemes. Speed up the pace of development projects and monitor the works closely, he directed the officers while chairing a high level meeting convened to review the status of development works and welfare schemes here at a meeting of the Officers of sub-division Chatroo of district Kishtwar.

The meeting was attended by SDM Chatroo, DY SP Chatroo, Tehsildar Mugalmaidan, BDO Chatroo, BDO Mugalmaidan, Xeen R&B Chatroo, Xeen PMGSY Chatroo, CDPO Chatroo, BMO Chatroo, ZEO Chatroo, Naib Tehsildars, AEE PHE Chatroo, AEE PDD Chatroo, TSO Chatroo, VAS Sheep and Aninal Husbandry Chatroo, Range Officer Udil Chatroo, Range Manager SFC Chatroo, Social Welfare Officer Chatroo, Agriculture Extension Officer Chatroo & Dadpeth, Horticulture development officer Chatroo, Fisheries Development officer Mugalmaidan besides officials of various departments.

Mr. Saroori took a detailed review of core sectors including PHE, R&B, PMGSY, RDD, CAPD, Social Welfare, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Tourism and Education and discussed the measures to further streamline service delivery system in the sub-division Chatroo. He issued instructions to R&B, PMGSY, JKPCC, RDD, Hydraulic Division and Forest departments to speed up the works being executed by them under various schemes and exhorted upon the engineers to ensure the quality of work is not compromised with so that quality and enduring public infrastructure is developed. He asked them to sort out the problems being faced in execution of works and bring in his notice where they face problem. He also called for expediting the work on the construction of Degree College Chatroo, compound walling to HSS Chatroo, Eidgah Sinthan, early completion of blacktopping work, clearance of landslides on Kuchal, Singpora, Loidhar, Mangthalla roads, bridges, temporary culverts, panchayat ghars, fisheries unit at Sigdi, Tehsil buildings, CIC building Mugalmaidan, Hospitals building at Dadpeth, Singpora, Sigdi, Rahalthal, completion of Dak Bungalows at Kuriya, Sinthan, Kuchal Sheikhpura road, Sheeri, Thal Kwath roads, Animal Husbandry building, Ujjwala scheme, MGNREGA scheme, IHHL, swatch bharat, RGGVY phase II, Dien Dayal and ropeways in the area, considering the short working season.

Saroori sought detailed progress on the project of PHE department from AEE PHE and directed him to start the work immediately so that the needs of people are met effectively. He also asked the officials to fully utilize the existing schemes so that people may get respite from scarcity of water besides this directed the PHE officials to follow up in Chief Engineer PHE office regarding sanctioning of new water supply schemes. He also directed CAPD to ensure ration to far flung areas on priority basis as these areas are facing shortage of food items. He also directed officials of Education department to look into the issues regarding teaching staff on priority so that the shortage of teachers in far flung areas can be met effectively. He directed the BMO Chatroo to ensure availability of all essential medicine at the PHC Chatroo and sub-centres besides rendering selfless service by the medicos.

SDM Chatroo, Romin Ahmad, in his introductory meeting emphasized that the focus of his Administration was to provide a people friendly, corruption free and efficient public delivery systems. He also impressed upon officials to work with utmost zeal to remove the bottlenecks to achieve maximum developmental targets. He further impressed upon the field functionaries manning the schemes to ensure that all the schemes were properly projected among the target groups and their requirements and needs were properly factored in.

G. M Saroori demanded magisterial probe in Chatroo custodial death



Inderwal is peace loving constituency where people from all community are living peacefully

CHATROO, JULY 21: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today demanded Magisterial probe into the custodial death of Javed Ahmed Malik son of Mohammad Khalil Malik resident of Bahrat Doda who allegedly died in police custody due to negligence of some police officials.

While addressing the angry protestors held a strong protest against the allege custodial killing and block the road at Chatroo bus stand for hours together demanded action against the guilty persons involved behind the killing of the deceased Javed Malik, Saroori said as per the public allegations the deceased was accused in bovine smuggling case and was arrested by the police last night and while shifted to Primary Health Center Chatroo for routine medical checkup, the deceased escaped from police custody—and while escaping he falls; resulted into his death. The angry protestors later also shifted the dead body of the deceased and put it on the road demanding justice for the deceased by registering an FIR against the guilty police officials under murder charges.

Saroori term the death of Javed Malik as unacceptable and demanded action against SHO police station Chatroo and other involved in the crime. He warns mass scale protest in case the police and administration did not stop the authorities on poor people on the name of bovine Smuggling. He said that the guilty should be booked, beside the concern SHO should be removed without any delay. He said that the people of Inderwal constituency are peace loving where people from all community are living peacefully added that some nefarious design people want to disturb the peaceful environment in the area. He said that he had taken up the matter with the state and local Administration about the hooliganism of the some policemen’s in the killings of Javed Malik.

"Police should not harass poor Gujjars and Bakarwal whose livelihood is totally depends on domestic animals-- this must stop immediately" said Saroori. He also express his grief and sorrow over the brutal killing of Javed Ahmed Malik and prayed to Almighty Allah for peace to the departed soul and place for him in heaven beside courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss. He assured the family members of the deceased that they will find him neck to neck in their demand for justice by way of punishing the guilty.

A meeting was also held in between of the protest which was chaired by Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kichloo in which Molvi Abdul Qayoom, Imam Chatroo, MLA Inderwal G. M Saroori, MLC Firdous Tak, SSP Kishtwar Chowdhary Abrar, ADDC Kishtwar Imam Din, ACR Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh besides relatives of Javed Malik attended the meeting where the administration assured action in this behalf beside the demand of action against guilty including shifting of SHO Chatroo was also agreed by the concern authorities, administration has also assured Magisterial probe into the matter through ADDC Kishtwar, Immam Din.

Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar who also reaches the spot termed the death of Javed Ahmed Malik as a cold blooded murder and seeks justice for the deceased. He said that the deceased has no link with the case and was brutally murder.
