Youth Congress demanded compensation to Kwar-Tanji land owners



Lambast at PDP leader for misleading the people of Inderwal

Kishtwar, January 21: - Youth Congress leaders from Inderwal constituency demanded early distribution of free ration to the “Chula Parchi” consumer which the state government have announced that government will provide six months free ration to the flood affected areas in Inderwal Assembly segment.


In a joint statement by Mohammad Latief Mughal, Sheikh Basharat, Chowdhary Yaseen, Farooq Ahmed, Asif Iqbal Butt, Arzoo Keen, Ahamer Sehzad, Irshad Ahmed, Zakir Hussain, Shahnawaz Ahmed, Javed Rana, Kabir Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Manoj Kumar, Mohd Rafiq and others said that Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department has distributed free ration to the consumers but the Chula Parchi consumer were also promised free rations after the floods wreaked havoc and damaged the standing crops in Inderwal.


They said from the past five months Chula parchi consumers have not received a single grain of that ration and they have lost 90 percent of yield and all the maize fields got destroyed due to massive soil erosion by the flood. Now they are totally dependent on government ration," the Youth leaders from Inderwal said.


Congress Youth Leaders have alleged that despite repeatedly pleading to the officials of the CAPD Department, the people of Chatroo, Chingam, Kuchal, Mugalmaidan, Thakrie, Keshwan, Sarthal, Saroor, Drabshalla, Thathri, Kontwara, Jakyas, Bunjwah, Bhalessa, Khara, Kishtwar and other parts have "not received" any ration for the Chula Parchi consumers.


They have appealed to the CAPD department to provide free ration to Chula Parchi people immediately and have requested MLA Inderwal, G. M. Saroori to take up this matter with higher authorities of CAPD as well.


They have also lambast at PDP leader from Inderwal, Abdul Majid Butt for misleading the people of Inderwal constituency through his press statement. They said people of Inderwal have already given a befitting reply to Butt and he is frustrated by his humiliating defeat in recent election and now he is issuing baseless statements.


Meanwhile Congress Youth Leader from Kishtwar, Randeep Bhandari, demanded early compensation to the people of Kwar-Tanji Nasgesni, Kishtwar District who had given their land for the construction of ‘reservoir of Dul Hast Hydroelectric Plant’ project, but have not been given promised compensation by the state government.


Criticizing the centre government, Bhandari said it is a matter of great concern that people that under order on SDM/LA/911-16 on 17.01.07 gave their 213 kanals and 02 marlas land for the construction of reservoir of Dul Hasti Power Project had not been compensated, despite the fact that the project has been completed from last more than five years and is generating crore of rupee.


He requested the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner Secretary Finance J&K and DDC Kishtwar to personally look into the matter and release the compensation as early as possible.


Youth Congress Indewal and Kishtwar have also urged State Governor, NN Vohra to announce a decrease in transport fares in the interest of the general public across Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of an unprecedented fall in the price of diesel.

Ration to flood affected people on basis of Chula Slip: Saroori

Jammu, January 21: - Congress MLA from Inderwal, G. M. Saroori today said that free ration which was announced by the state government last year for six months will be given to flood affected people on the basis of “Chula Slip” rather than ration cards.


He urge upon the Deputy Commissioner Doda and Kishtwar to monitor the distribution of the free ration among the flood affected families in their concerned districts. He also ask them to redouble their efforts for the distribution of free ration among the flood affected families of the valley.


Saroori has also talked telephonically with Commissioner Secretary CAPD and Director CAPD Jammu and have urge CAPD department to ensure adequate availability of wheat, Atta, rice, sugar and other essential commodities in all parts of Inderwal Constituency for the convenience of the people.


He also impressed upon the officers to personally monitor the ration supply to far-flung and remote areas so that the poor people living in these areas get hassal free supply.


The officers said that CAPD is distributing the free ration which is meant whose crop has got badly damaged in district Doda and Kishtwar. They have assured Mr. Saroori that ration will also be provided to Chula slip consumers and consumers will get hassal free ration supply.


They have also informed that they have already directed the concerned officers of CAPD to lift immediately the allocated quota of food grains for the next month. Adding that the distribution of free ration among the flood victims is demand driven programme, they said that the concerned Assistant Directors of CAPD is already submitting the distribution report to the Divisional Administration.


Saroori also urge PDD authorities to ensure scheduled power supply to the consumer. “The people should not face any inconvenience on account of power during winter and any negligence in this regard would be viewed seriously”, he said and added that due care should be taken to check power pilferage.

Saroori condoles death of Shafiq Ahmed Malik and Varsha Sharma



"Teenage girl from Passarkot Chatroo died due to 90% burns"

Kishtwar, January 20: - Senior Congress leader and MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed profound sorrow and deep grief over the demises of Varsha Sharma daughter of Moti Lal Sharma who passed away at Government Medical College Jammu.


Also over the sad demise of Shafiq Ahmed Malik son of Abdul Jabber Malik, who was a great human being passed away at his village Kuchal Mugalmaidan.


Saroori described late Shafiq Ahmed Malik as honest, pious, hard worker and down to earth social activist who throughout his life tirelessly worked for the betterment and uplift of the down trodden sections of the society in Kuchal. He remembered the departed soul as a noble man who lived a pious life.


He was the brother of Ex Congress Sarpanch from Kuchal, Abdul Gani Malik.


In a condolence message to the families, Saroori expressed his solidarity and has conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed souls. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.


It is to mention here that on 15th of January a 16 year old teenage girl Varsha Sharma daughter of Moti Lal Sharma resident of Passarkot Chatroo in Kishtwar District received 90% burn injuries after she received electric shock inside her home. She reportedly got in contact with a water container with electric boiler. She received an electric shock inside the bathroom of the house when she reportedly got in contact with a water container with electric boiler. As soon as the incident took place, the family members shifted her to Primary Health Center (PHC) Chatroo from where doctors shifted her to Government Medical College Jammu for advance treatment but she passed away due to critical condition of the teenager.


Congress Leaders, People from Kuchal Mugalmaidan, Passerkot, Chatroo have also condole the sad demise of Ms. Varsha Sharma and Mr. Shafiq Ahmed Malik.

Construct model chowks instead of entry gate at Kishtwar: Saroori demanded


 
“Slash transport fares across J&K”

JAMMU, January 19: - Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghullam Mohammad Saroori today demanded immediate construction of model chowks instead of entry gates in Kishtwar.

Saroori said that as Road and Building (R&B) department Minister in 2010 he has sanctioned Rs 20 Lakhs for the construction of model chowks at Kishtwar out of which Rs 06 lakhs were sanctioned for the compensation of the excise buildings.


He said there is a dire need for the construction of model chowks instead of entry gates at Kishtwar as proposed in 2010 by him. He said authorities should immediately dismantle the both the buildings of excise department and should start the construction of the model chowks and make the way for the widening of road from Bus stand to Kendriya Vidyalaya Kishtwar.


Saroori has also asked the Transport department to immediately reduce the passenger fare as the prices of diesel had been slashed by the oil companies.


He said that when diesel prices go up then some Transporters come out and cry for the hike in fare but when the diesel prices have been slashed down and no one from transporters’ association are demanding about reduction of passengers’ fare. He said that people are already reeling under financial burden and there is dire need for reduction of passengers’ fare as the existing passengers’ fare are more than justified rate.


The common man on the road should get full benefit from falling crude prices. The authorities should immediately issue new rate list for the fares. "Not only that the prices of essential commodities should come down as the transport for the import and export has become cheaper," Saroori added.


Saroori also said that Commissioner Secretary Transport department should come clean over the issue and make strict directions to Department to take immediate action for reducing the passengers’ fare as the transporters are fleecing the passengers at every front.


Congress leader also urge the Governor of the J&K N. N. Vohra to intervene in this matter and take people friendly and justified decision for reducing the passengers’ fare beside full benefit of the fall in global crude prices be passed on to the people.

Vested interests using media to spread lies, allegations against Azad baseless: Congress leaders



"No meeting is going to take place for PCC reshuffle"

Jammu, 18 January: - Congress leaders has strongly refuted the frivolous, concocted and baseless allegations levelled against Congress party and on MP and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad.


A joint statement issued by Senior Congress leaders including JKPCC vice president Janak Raj Gupta, Former Dy CM Tara Chand, MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, MLA Devsar Mohd Amin Bhat, Secretary JKPCC and Spokesperson Salman Nizami, MLA Shangus Gulzar Ahmed Wani and MLA Surankote Chowdhary Akram.


The Congress leaders have rebutted a news report by a section of media that Azad loyalists are meeting on January 22 for campaign to seek ouster of JKPCC president. They said that no such meeting is going to take place for the ouster of JKPCC president or for PCC reshuffle, its only party high command which has to decide and is authorize to take such decision.


Leaders said that how unverified reports purportedly attributed to Azad and of Congress party are being manufactured. Congress leaders said it seems that a particular section of media has taken a contract from some vested interests to churn out a story against Congress leaders and party on a daily basis.


Congress leaders said that the least this section of media can do, is to go for an unbiased self introspection. “The allegations levelled by this section of media are not only baseless but a figment of imagination. This section of media has blatantly resorted to baseless and slanderous accusations against noted public representatives and on Congress party,” they said.


“Let us make it clear to this particular media that Congress represents aspirations of people and neither the vested interest groups,” Congress leaders said and added that some parties have the agenda of flaring up the communal tension and misleading the people on the name of religion, region, caste and creed which disintegrate the society but whenever Congress came into power they have assure better development in the state and is committed for peace and development and this is the only agenda of this party.


“People in Jammu and Kashmir know who is who and what is what. The baseless accusations against Azad and Congress won’t fetch the so called political group or section of media any kind of public support or popularization instead these malicious propaganda are bound to expose this media further among the people,” Congress leaders added.
