G. M Saroori hailed appointment of Priyanka Gandhi as General Secretary AICC

Congratulates Ghulam Nabi Azad for the new task; termed these decisions as very significant to further strengthen the party in the Country



JAMMU, JANUARY 25: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, G. M Saroori has hailed the new appointments in the Congress party by Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi, especially the induction of Smt. Priyanka Gandhi as General Secretary AICC.



Saroori have heartedly welcomed the appointments of Smt. Priyanka Gandhi as General Secretary AICC, Shri. Ghulam Nabi Azad as General Secretary Haryana apart from other important appointments in the Congress party and termed these decisions as very significant to further strengthen the party in the Country.



He said that the much awaited entry of Smt. Priyanka Gandhi in to the Congress organization was the great desire of people, especially youth of the nation apart from the congress cadre in every nook and corner of the country.



While welcoming Smt. Priyanka Gandhi in the congress organization and active politics, Saroori expressed gratitude to Congress president for the new appointments and also conveyed heartiest congratulation to Shri K.C.Venogopal as General Secretary incharge organization, Sh. Ghulam Nabi Azad-Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha incharge Haryana and Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia as General Secretary incharge West UP said that their experience and dynamism will further strengthen the party in the Country, in the run up of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

G. M Saroori calls for restoration of essentialities to people at door step




Asked administration to ensue hassle free ration supply 

Kishtwar, January 24: Former J&K Minister and Vice President JKPCC, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori calls on the administration to look into the problems faced by the people of Kishtwar and Doda Districts including that of Inderwal constituency due to prevailing bad weather condition and snowfall.

Saroori said that due to snowfall and bad weather conditions, the people of rural areas of Kishtwar & Doda Districts are facing lot of problems who are looking forward to address the issues of shortage of essential commodities and availability of rations at government run deports.

He asked DC Kishtwar and Doda to press man and machinery into services to clear the various link roads closed due to continuous rain & snowfall. He also said that there is need to take stock of availability of life saving medicines, availability of Kerosene Oil, ration, LPG, besides also thrust on restoration of electricity in villages located adjacent to Kishtwar, Doda towns and Inderwal. He said that people are calling him about the problems faced by them, beside he also listen to various public grievances with regard to the problems faced by the people due to snowfall. 

Saroori also said that he has also intimated concern officials about various problems faced by the general public on administration front and seek immediate redresser of the public grievances with them. He also asked the administration to ensure hassle free ration supply, and smooth essential services across the nook and corners of the Kishtwar and Doda districts.

State Congress Vice President also visited Poora Chandali area and said Congress is committed to overall development of all the three regions of the state especially hilly, backward, remote, mountainous and border areas. He appealed people to work for strengthening the party in the best interest of the people of Inderwal. He urged the people to remain vigilant against the machinations of the parties like BJP, NC and PDP the main agenda of which is to polarize the situation and benefit from division in the society and frustrate their designs while maintaining age old tradition of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony. He said their main plank during the upcoming elections will be to divide the masses.

Ghulam Mohammad Saroori condoles death one Hajji from Thathri, J&K



KISHTWAR, JANUARY 21: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has deeply condoled the death of one Hajji from Jammu & Kashmir who passed away in Mecca namely Muneera Begum Wife of Abdul Rashid resident of Tipri area of Thathri in Doda district.

In his condolence message, Mr. Saroori expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. He has also offered condolences to the family member of Marhoom Muneera Begum. “My heart goes out to the family members, near and dear ones and I pray to Almighty Allah to rest departed soul in peace and a place for her in heaven,” Saroori said.

Mr. Saroori has also urged the State Hajj Committee to coordinate with the concerned authorities for providing best possible facilities to the Hajjis from Jammu and Kashmir.

G. M Saroori visits GMC, SMGS and Super Speciality Hospital Jammu; enquires about well being of the patients




JAMMU, JANUARY 19: - PCC Vice President and Former Minister J&K, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today visited Government Medical College hospital (GMC&H), Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) and Super Speciality Hospitals Jammu to enquire about the health of various patients admitted in these hospitals belonging from district Kishtwar and Doda who are suffering from various diseases.


Mr. Saroori interacted with the patients attended at GMC, SMGS and Super Speciality Hospitals, Jammu and assured them all help. He asked the doctors about the status of the patients and instructed the Hospital authorities and Doctors to provide every required medical facility to the patients so that they do not feel any inconvenience.

Saroori also wished for early recovery of the patients.

JAMMU, JANUARY 20: Sh. G. M. Saroori, former Minister and Ex-MLA, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.



Sh. Saroori apprised Governor about the developmental scenario of Inderwal Constituency.

Saroori requested Governor for opening of Degree College at Kahara Malanoo and Bunjwah, construction of Manoie- Gugara road under Central Road Fund (CRF), sanctioning of PWD special Sub Division for Thathri, sanctioning of new type PHC for Tatani Saroor and Mangthalla Thakrie, Separate Education Zone for Kahara, Establishment of Fire Service Station at Kahara and Chatroo, Creation of new PHE Sub Division Drabshalla, Sanctioning of ITI for Chatroo, Upgradation of High Schools to Higher Secondaries in Inderwal constituency and regularization of casual/daily wagers in different departments.

Senior Congress leaders address 56 winning Sarpanches of Inderwal constituency

Jammu, January 15: Slamming the propaganda unleashed by the opposition parties in Inderwal constituency of Kishtwar District, Senior Congress leader today said that no government formation in Jammu and Kashmir is possible without Congress party while at centre, the people of the country had already make its mind to pack the BJP and there alliance partner as the NDA Government headed by the Narindra Modi had fail the people of India on every front.

Speaking at a function organised by the party at Jammu to felicitate the newly elected Sarpanches of Inderwal constituency on the sidelines of oath taking ceremony, JKPCC Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that Congress party is committed for strengthening of Panchyat Raj Institution as per the aspirations and commitment of late Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi who is the architect of PRI’s in India. 

Saroori said that Sarpanches can play a vital role in monitoring and execution of developmental work at grassroot level added that the Sarpanches in his constituency will act as his hands and ears that can play equal role in mitigating the problems faced by the people in rural areas of the state like Inderwal.

Saroori said that opposition parties like NC and PDP are beating hollow drums & propaganda about their success in Inderwal has once again proved to be rehotic by the presence of 56 Sarpanches in the party program organised at Jammu. He said that people of Inderwal as well as state of Jammu and Kashmir will show PDP & BJP their respective places as both parties had left no stone unturned to divide the people of Jammu and Kashmir on communal and regional lines and caution the people about the neferious design of the BJP, PDP and NC who uses money power to hoodwink the people.

Senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma, Abdul Rashid Dar, Usman Majeed and Balbir Singh also addressed the newly elected Sarpanches.

Ghulam Nabi Azad visits Bhadarwah




BHADARWAH, JANUARY 10: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister of J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad visited Bhadarwah on a private visit to attend special prayer (4th day) of his paternal aunt (Chachi), Begum Fatima Azad, who had died on Jan 6 after brief illness.



Shri. Azad reached Bhadarwah at around 2:15 pm and spent around two hours with his relatives.



He also visited graveyard, where he participated in the special prayers.



Shri. Azad was accompanied by senior Congress leaders G. M Saroori, Mohammed Sharief Niaz, Abdul Majeed Wani, Ch. Mohd Akram, Mohd Aslam Goni and MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta.



Large number of people met Shri. Azad during his visit to the area.

BJP to get benefit from lesser voting, poll boycott in Valley

KAHARA, DECEMBER 19: - Senior Congress leader and JKPCC Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today hit out at BJP for their failure in bringing peace in trouble torn Kashmir valley wherein innocent people are continuously losing there lives added that by keeping Kashmir on boil, BJP wants to gain political mileage in the country by portraiting every innocent Kashmiri’s as Militants and terror sympathisers.

Reacting to the killings of seven innocent civilians in Sarnoo Pulwama few days ago, Saroori while touring Phagsoo and Kencha Bitola areas of Kahara said that BJP will get benefit from lesser voting, poll boycott in Valley since they will use government man and machinery to mobilize the fake voters who could vote for them by using security forces to garner the support.

Saroori said that BJP is in favour of lesser voting and poll boycott in Kashmir valley so that they could take the advantage of the situation in upcoming assembly elections in a similar way the way they get the benefits of the same in Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections which concluded few days ago.

He asks the BJP to shun the path of repression and arrogance by replacing the same with concrete measures with regard to bringing back peace in the valley.

Saroori said that BJP is adamant to divide the people on the name of the religion and region added that he supported the creation of Chenab valley and Pir Panchal Division along with Ladkah so that people could get issues solved at their door step. He said that Congress party in government took historical step of creating Sub Divisions, Tehsils, blocks and Naibats so that people could not suffer on account of delivery system. He said that party also advocate for Autonomous Hill Development Council for Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban. He said that government of India should talk to different stakeholders so that peace could be prevail in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He warns the BJP against any adventurism with Kashmir situation by further fueling the situation in Kashmir valley.

G. M Saroori grieved over Sigdi accident



Kishtwar, December 27: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed shock and deep grief over the death of Teacher Farooq Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Rashid in a tragic accident which took place today near Sigdi area on Sangambati-Sigdi road.

“My heart goes out to the family of Farooq Ahmed who have lost their dear one in an unfortunate accident”, Saroori said in a statement while expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, praying for strength to them to bear this irreparable loss. He also prayed for peace to the departed soul beside a place for him in a heaven.
