Saroori visits Suharwardy’s and Balwan’s residence at Doda

Condoles demise of NC leader’s, ADDC Jammu mothers and Imam Thathri sister

Doda, July 06: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today visited the residence of NC Leader and MLC Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy to personally condole the demise of his mother Begum Molvi Attaullah Suhrawardhy who passed away few days ago, and also visited the residence of ADDC Jammu, Ghulam Nabi Balwan to console the demise of Rehmata Begum (83) W/o Late Abdul Samad Balwan at Doda beside visited resident of Haji Bashir Ahmed Zargar to console the demise of his sister who passed away few days ago at Thathri.

Mr. Saroori stayed with the bereaved families and expressed his sympathy and solidarity with them, offered fatiyah, consoled the family members and prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in heaven.

He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.

Saroori chairs PHE meeting

Stressed for improving work culture at the grass root level of various PHE schemes in Inderwal constituency

Kishtwar, July 05: - MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today reviewed the overall drinking water scenario and progress of various on-going PHE schemes in Inderwal constituency.

Executive Engineer PHE Nitya Lal, all Junior Engineers and other officials from PHE department were present in the meeting.

Mr. Saroori reviewed the water supply schemes of Singpora, Chingam, Kuchal, Keshwan, Sigdi, Durbeel, Gorinal, Saroor, Sarthal, Bunjwah, Drabshallah, Kandothe, Trankel, Phigsoo, Khara, Jakyas, Bhatyas, Bathri, Kencha, Gugara, Mali, Kathal, Nagbhatna, Iqra, Tanta, Halaran, Gogada, Gobar, Panshera, Jora Kalan, Sicher and Thathri areas.

MLA Inderwal expressed displeasure over the slow pace and non-functioning of some ongoing water supply schemes in Inderwal constituency.

Saroori asked the officers to press all resources into service and work with extra zeal and dedication to provide improved services to the people and ensure completion of all under execution projects in time. He also stressed the need for a coordinated approach to clear various bottlenecks and improving work culture at the grass root level of various PHE schemes in Inderwal.

He also asked the engineers and officers to visit people living in scattered parts in hilly and remote areas to assess and redress their problems. “People have voted us and it is our moral responsibility to come upto their expectations and mitigate their problems” Saroori exhorted.

Mr. Saroori also asked the PHE department to repair the hand pumps, as from the last one year hand pumps at Thathri, Drabshallah, Chatroo, Kuriya, Thakrie, Mulchitter, Sigdi, Saroor and Bunjwah are not working due to disorderness in Pumps.

He also asked the officers to put on their hard efforts to provide drinking water in all left out schools which are mandatory on the part of Government beside ask them to submit the DPR for Canal Kankore Patnazi to Binoon and remaining villages to which there is no drinking water facility.

Executive Engineer PHE Kishtwar, Nitya Lal briefed the meeting about the physical and financial achievements on each scheme run in Inderwal constituency. He assured the MLA Inderwal to achieve the targets well within the stipulated time frame. He informed about several measures initiated to provide quality water to all hamlets in Inderwal.

House Committee meet



SRINAGAR: A meeting of the House Committee was held under the chairmanship of MLA, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen here today.

Threadbare discussion was held on illegal encroachment of wet lands for its conversion into Agriculture and Kahchari land for residential and commercial purposes and the measures taken by different agencies in the pursuit.

The meeting was attended by Mr. G. M. Saroori, Rafi Ahmed Mir and Peerzada Mansoor Hussai, who gave their valuable suggestions in this regard.

Among others Financial Commissioner Revenue, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Secretary Forests, Principal CCF (Wildlife), Vice Chairman, LAWDA, Director Environment and Remote Sensing, Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control and other officers attended the meeting.

Committee on Library meet

SRINAGAR: The Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, who is also Ex-Officio Chairman of the Committee on Library of J&K Legislative Assembly, Mr Mubarak Gul, today, directed the Assembly Secretariat to send a list of the important Dogri and Kashmir books to the Parliament Library for ready reference to the readers.

This direction was given by the Speaker while chairing a Library Committee meeting here today. Besides discussing various issues related to books available in both Libraries of the Assembly Secretariat at Jammu and Srinagar, the committee decided to have on the spot inspection of the important monuments of the State.

Earlier the Secretary Assembly Mr. M. Ramzan briefed the Committee about the decisions taken by the Predecessor Committee at Jammu. The Committee while taking into account the decisions taken at Jammu was of the opinion that local authors should be encouraged in future by way of affecting the purchase of their publications.

The meeting was attended by Legislators Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Mr. G.M. Saroori, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, Mr. Mohammad Yaseen Shah and Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani and gave their valuable suggestions with regard to upkeep of text books of these Libraries.

Patnazi (Kishtwar), July 03: - Congress MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori visited Patnazi, Goni, Mislay, Patnazi-B and Bunjwah where he interacted with Schedule Tribe people and made them aware about the schemes being run by the government for the welfare of the people living in remote and hilly areas.

Saroori said that government has launched a massive development programme aimed at creating basic facilities for the people. He said that road connectivity, a basic need for development, has been prioritized, adding all inaccessible and unconnected pockets of the remote and hilly areas would be connected through a road network.

He further said that he would ensure equitable development of all the areas of Inderwal constituency and added that the welfare schemes, launched by the government, would definitely change the development scenario of the area.

MLA Inderwal said education, health, PHE, R&B are among the priority sectors, adding that special attention is being given to improve the Medicare and education system in the area.
Saroori inspected Bunjwah-Kither and Thathri-Bunjwah roads which are taken up under NABARD for connecting the rest of unconnected places of the area. He asked the contractor to speed up the construction work and complete the work on time bond period.

About Thathri-Bunjwah road constructed by JKPCC, he asked about the status of the road beside said to the engineers that general public from time to time shows resentment over the bad condition of the road. Saroori said that that the condition of some part of this stretch of road is in deplorable condition causing lot of inconvenience to the people from Thathri. He on spot pressed to engineers of JKPCC and contractors to speed up the cutting, shingling and mettling of the particular road so that people may not face hardship in traveling.

Engineers of the department assured MLA Saroori that this year department will complete shingling and mettling beside will black top early next year.

Newly entrants while speaking said "The NC, PDP and BJP did give a big blow to the people because for the last so many years, they have been indulging in some kind of procrastination. The party high command could have done something for the betterment of public welfare, but they didn't.

They also said that many more Bhartiya Janta Party, National Conference and People’s Democratic Party workers in Inderwal will follow suit soon.

They said that they are very much impressed with policies of the Opposition Rajya Sabha Leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC in Charge J&K Ambica Soni and local MLA G M Saroori. Only the Congress has the commitment and ability to lead the state in the modern era.

While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold Saroori said their presence would strengthen Congress in Inderwal Constituency and said that only the Congress can accommodates all shades of opinion and is truly democratic in its structure. He added that helping the needy and downtrodden is the only principal, the Congress is based on.

Saroori chairs PUC meet

Srinagar, July 02: - A meeting of the Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held under the Chairmanship of MLA G. M. Saroori.

Legislators Mustafa Kamal, A R. Veeri, Mohammad Yasin Shah, Nizamu-Din Bhat, Charnajit Singh, Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat and Rani Bloreia attended the meeting and stressed upon the officers of Power Development Department (PDD) to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on all works taken under RGGVY and complete them in a stipulated time frame.

The Committee also stressed for early repairs and renovation of damaged transformers.

Earlier, Principal Secretary, PDD A. K. Mehta briefed the meeting about the achievements registered under different schemes by the PDD during the current year so far.

Director General Accounts and Treasuries, Managing Director, JKSPDC, Power Development Commissioner, Chief Engineers of different wings of the PDD, representatives from Accountant General Office, J&K and other officers attended the meeting.

Bunjwah (Kishtwar), June 02: - Saroori Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today undertook an extensive tour of remote area and hilly villages including Bunjwah, Kewa, Noor, Jalapur, Chikroon, Binoon, Nali, Toaib Abad, Behandwah, Mori, Golu Top and Balgran area and said that people must understand the nefarious design of certain ‘disgruntled forces’, who are trying to disturb the peaceful environs in the State.

Saroori asked people to thwart every such act with full might for ensuring sustained development of the State. He cautioned the people against the anti-social elements who are trying to disturb the peace and harmony in the region. He said peace is vital for the implementation of welfare schemes and developmental activities.

He said that the Government has made all efforts to cover the far-flung areas under the umbrella of developmental process and for this purpose he seeks full cooperation from the people of Bunjwah.
