NRHM Samelan cum Awareness Camp organized in Thatri.

Thatri - To create awareness among the people especially Sarpanches, Panches and Asha workers regarding the Centrally sponsored Health care scheme for far flung and backward
areas, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), a Samelan-cum-awareness camp was organized at Dak Bunglow Thatri.

Former Minister and sitting Member of Legislative Assembly Inderwal G M Saroori, BMO Thatri, Doctors, besides Asha workers and a huge gathering of Sarpanches/ Panches and people attended the programme.

While welcoming the legislators in the camp BMO Thatri revealed the achievements made by the Health Department in the District under NRHM. He said NRHM is a program for improving health care delivery across rural areas and the mission is run by the Ministry of Health GOI, the scheme proposes a number of new mechanisms for healthcare delivery, motherhood protection program and improving hygiene and sanitation infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion MLA Inderwal G M Saroori said that Government is committed for the development and strengthening of the all the basic facilities in the rural and far flung areas of the state. He asked the Sarpanches and Panches to participate in the developmental activities by providing timely feedback to the government regarding various state and centrally sponsored schemes. He stressed upon them to identify the needy and poor people in their respective areas and enable them to take maximum benefits of various benefit and welfare schemes of the government. He impressed upon the Asha workers to work with more devotion and dedication for the benefit and well being of the pregnant women and the newly born baby. He asked them to motivate people to prefer institutional deliveries for thesafe and secure health of mother and newly born rather than delivery at home which involves threat to both mother and baby.

Saroori said that Union Health Minister and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad had announced last month a 50 bedded Hospital at Thathri with advanced Operation Theatre, adequate accommodation for patients and doctors residence for which funds will be provided by the Central Health Ministry. He said he had taken up the matter with Director Health Jammu to initiate and prepare DPR in this regard immediately.

He also urged upon the People, Asha workers, Sarpanches and Medicos to create awareness among the people regarding protection of girl child and strict enforcement of anti sex determination law to save the girl child.

Saroori gets clean chit in exam scam.

CBI presented two challans in MBBS impersonation Scam against 14 persons.

Jammu:- Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today presented two charge-sheet in the infamous MBBS impersonation Scam in the Court of Special Magistrate CBI (CJM Jammu) against Sheetal Gupta /Arshi Kiran, Dr. Ajit Kumar Choudhary, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Pankaj Kumar Priyadarshi, Kanhaiya Kumar Vats, Kunj Bihari, Rakesh Gupta, Payal Aggarwal @ Shruti Guar d, Huma Tabassum, Rattan Lal Seghal, Vikas Kumar Paul, Hemant Singh Rajawat and Bharat Abrol U/Ss 120-B r/w section 419/420/468 & 471 RPC r/w section 511 and section 2/5 Prevention of Un-fair means Examination Act 1987.

According to challan which CBI filed in the Court of Judicial Magistrate Jammu under No RC0042010S0009 on Tuesday exonerating the former Minister terming him as not involved in the scam.

According to challan, it has been revealed that admission notice for session 2010 was published on June 9, 2010 for inviting applications for admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course in ASCOMS Sidhra against Management Quote seats for the session 2010. The CET was fixed for July 25, 2010 and later changed to August 21, 2010.

CBI in similar circumstances has investigated the role of each and every accused along with the impersonator and filed two comprehensive challans seeking prosecution of the accused and it has been clarified that more challans shall be presented in due course of time as investigation is still going on in matter.

Speaking to Media persons, Sudhir Sharma, the cousel appearing for Saroori in the court said the ministers stand has been vindicated by the CBI as he has not bee found involved in the crime in any way.

CBI has prayed before the Court that accused Pankaj Kumar Priyadarshi and Hemant Singh Rajawat may be granted pardon and allowed to be taken as approvers in this case u/s 337r/w 338 of J&K CrPC.

Special Magistrate CBI (CJM) Jammu Mr. Shobha Ram Gandhi after hearing Senior PP SK Bhat appearing for the CBI and counsels appearing for the accused-persons, granted bail to the tune of Rs 25000/- each and committed the case to the Court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu.

"Saroori has been given clean chit. There was no evidence collected by the investigating officer against him, he is not involved in the conspiracy," Senior Public Prosecutor for CBI, S K Bhat
Meanwhile, when contacted, Saroori said he was being implicated by his detractors and that the truth has finally come out. “I had full faith in God and I am satisfied that the CBI has given me a clean chit”, he said.

Earlier, in the year 2010, Saroori had to resign from the state cabinet after an impostor was found appearing in the Common Entrance Test in place of his daughter. On 22 August 2010, police had arrested 7 people including 2 students after finding them involved in the case. Later the case was handed over to the CBI, which has since been investigating the case.

NHPC Employees Federation elects its president during annual convention.


Kishtwar:- NHPC Workers and Employees Federation during his 14th convocation at Kishtwar elect its President and General Secretary of the union.

In the election which was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Latief Hussain Siddiqui, Mr. R.C Khuntia and Mr. M.R Salalia were unanimously elected as president and General Secretary respectively. Both the elected representatives conveyed their heartiest thanks to all the participants and assured them that they will fight to fulfill the need of the employees of NHPC. They also condemn the transfer of 183 Class IV employees from Jammu and Kashmir to far-flung places in Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh and urged upon the NHPC management to cancel the transfer orders.


Earlier former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori inaugurated the 14th convention at DHP colony Kishtwar. While inaugurating the function, Mr. Saroori assured the NHPC employees to extend all types of cooperation for finding out the solution to major problems of NHPC Employees. He also said he had taken up the matter for early start of work on power projects like Pakal-Dool, Budsar, Kwar, Kerru, Rattle, Karthati and Dool-Hasti II so that the unemployed youths of Kishtwar will get job opportunities in these power project. Moreover the representatives of NHPC from different parts of the country also address the gathering and all the participants strongly condemn the transfer of 183 Class IV employees from Home State to other states of the Country.

Saroori greets people on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.


KISHTWAR; Former Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has greeted the people of the State on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In an Eid message, Saroori said that Eid-ul-Fitr "brings joy and happiness on the culmination of the month of Holy Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer and charity."

Saroori said that Eid-ul-Fitr reminds us of our responsibility to help poor a needy and inculcates the spirit of sharing happiness and joy with everyone. He said every religion teaches us peace, brotherhood, amity and love besides tolerance and patience. He said let us all pledge today to work together for the peace, prosperity and well being of the State and its people.

Saroori expressed the hope that the Eid will open a new chapter of progress and all round development in the State.

Saroori flag off educational tour of school children.


Kishtwar:- Former Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today flag off the education tour of school children from outside Deputy Commissioner Office Kishtwar. Over all 34 students from different High/Higher Secondary Schools of Kishtwar are the part of this 7 days tour named as “Bharat Darshan” organized by Education department Kishtwar funded by HRD Ministry government of India. During 7 days tour, the students will travel to Amritsar-Delhi-Agra-Jaipur. 

While addressing the students, Mr. Saroori said that the aim and objective of organizing such tour is to aware the school children’s about the waste culture and development of Union of India. He said that such type of tours will help the children’s to know more about his country. He hoped that all the children’s besides enjoying the tour will gain knowledge about the historical heritage places like Golden Temple, Red fort, Parliament House, Taj Mahal, Fatepur Sikrie and famous shrine of sofi saint Khuwja Mohudin Chisti (RTA). All the students feels over joeys when Mr. Saroori assured the touring children’s that he with the help of MP Lal Singh will arrange their visit to Parliament House to witness the ongoing preceding of Monsoon session. He stress on the education department to organize more such tours in future as well so that more children’s will get opportunity to visit various cities across India.

Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Lok Nath Butt brief the children’s about the tour itinerary and advice the children’s to follow the directions of 5 staff members who were accompanied them during this tour. He also distribute notebooks and pens among the children’s for penning down of some important points during the visit. Both Saroori and CEO Kishtwar give best of luck to the touring children’s.

Saroori greeted people on the occassion of Shab-E-Qadr.

Jammu - In his message Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori said Muslims across the country will observe tonight the holy Shab-e-Qadr or Lailatul Qadr, the night when the first verses of the holy Quran were revealed to the Greatest Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

This night under the Islamic calendar follows the 26th day of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. It is considered to be the most blessed night. The Holy Quran was revealed on this night to show mankind the path of worldly and eternal emancipation.


The night is better than 1,000 nights as the angels and the spirit descend therein, by the permission of Almighty Allah with all decrees, according to the Holy Quran.The Almighty Creator in His Infinite Mercy showers His Forgiveness on those who express their penitence for wrong-doers in their earthly life and blesses those who seek His Guidance, on this night. This is the night for seeking the Almighty Creator's Guidance. The Bountiful Creator in His Infinite Might and Mercy responds to the call to save mankind from the evil and to give them the strength to move in the right direction, as ordained by Him. So remember me in your prayers tonight on this blessed night. May Allah forgive and bless us all.

Saroori calls on Chief Minister Omar.

Demanded expediting work on Chatroo Singpora tunnel.

Srinagar - Former Minister & MLA Inderwal G M Saroori today call on Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah at Srinagar here.

“The meeting was focused on discussion on developmental senerio of Erstwhile District Doda especially in Inderwal Costituency”. Mr Saroori pleaded for expediting work on Chatroo Singpora tunnel which will serve as an important link between Erstwhile District Doda and Kashmir.

He also requested the Chief Minister to conduct a special recuitment drive for unemployed youths in Erstwhile Distrcit Doda especially in areas of Bunjwah, Khara, Chatroo, Saroor and other areas of erstwhile District Doda as has been done in other Districts of the state.


Mr Saroori also drew the attention of Chief Minister towards the announcemnt of providing two months free ration to the people of drought hit areas of erstwhile district doda and also demanded atta shold be provided instead of wheat.


During his meeting with Chief Minister, he also stress for early start of work on power projects like Pakal-Dool, Budsar, Kwar, Kerru, Rattle, Karthati and Dool-Hasti II so that the unemployed youths of Kishtwar will get job opportunities in these power project.

Condoles demise of legislator’s wife

SRINAGAR– Former Minister and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori on Thursday visited the residence of MLC, Ali Mohammad Bhat at Ganderbal and conveyed his condolence to him over the sad demise of Bhat’s wife.

Saroori remained with the bereaved family for some time, consoled them, expressed his sympathy, offered fateh and prayed for the peace to the departed soul.

Lauded Azad in improving Health sector in India

Kishtwar:- Former Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori presided over awareness camp of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) organised by BMO Chatroo. About 200 hundred Asha and Anganwari workers besides local people participated in the said camp. While addressing the gathering Saroori highlighted the various achievements of Congress led government at centre and particularly lauded the role of Union Health Minister and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad in improving health sector in India and in particular in Jammu and Kashmir. While giving credit to Azad he informed that the rural as well as urban health sector has improved a lot after G N Azad took over as the health minister of India.

Saroori laid emphasis on institutional birth which will make delivery of child and mother risk free and also Rs.1400/- will be paid to the mothers after delivery. He also lauded the role Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh led coalition government at the center which is instrumental in launching the flagship schemes like NRHM & MGNREGA which are now a pivotal for rural masses. He also informed the gathering that he has motivated a team of Doctors to visit Chatroo on 07 September 2012 for organizing OPD and free medical treatment to people living in the area for three days up-to 09 September 2012.

Among others BMO Chatroo Dr Mohd Yaqoob, Block President Congress committee Chatroo Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Vidya Lal(Sarpanch), Gh Nabi Mir (Sarpanch), Noor Din, Daleep Kumar(Sarpanch), Abdul Rashid Bhawani (Sarpanch),Tariq Hussain (Sarpanch), Mohd Amin Naik (Sarpanch) and Pyaray Lal Sharma (Sarpanch) were also present in the function.

While on way to Srinagar Saroori spent some time with people at Synthan where he called on in charge GREF and directed him for early completion of Synthan Kishtwar Road.

PCC hails MP lal Singh, MLA Saroori over execution of road works.

Kishtwar;- Congress committee Kishtwar in a press statement issued here appreciated the efforts of Member Parliament Chowdhary Lal Singh and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori for taking the matter of Gulabgard-Machail Matta road’s execution with the Union Health Minister and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad to speed up the execution of Gulabgard- Machail road who took up the matter with Hyderabad based contractor at his residence and directed him to start the execution of the said road at an earliest.

In a meeting Kishtwar Congress chaired by Thakur Jughal Bhandari J&K PCC Secretary, the congress activists thanked Lal Singh for taking personal pain in settling the dispute between local contractors and Hyderabad based contractor as a result of which the hurdles in construction of the said road gets cleared early execution. Mr. Bandari said that after meeting with Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, MP Lal Singh and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, the contractor assured for early completion of 32 KM Gulabgard-Machail Road the construction work of which remains suspended since 2010. Mr. Bhandari said that with the construction of Gulabgard-Machail thousands of devotees who visit the Machail temple every year from different parts of India will get easy access.

Vohra, Omar, Saroori greets people on Raksha Bandhan.

Srinagar:- Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, greeted the people on Raksha Bandhan being celebrated tommorow, when the annual pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine will culminate. Mr Vohra, who is also chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, hoped that this auspicious occasion would usher a new era of sustained peace, amity, harmony, progress and prosperity in the state. In his message of felicitations, the Governor said Raksha Bandhan is a unique feature of India's cultural ethos, symbolising the special bonds between brothers and sisters. He said this festival has a special significance for Jammu and Kashmir as the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra concludes on this day and devotees pay obeisance at the holy cave shrine on Shravan Purnima. The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the state.

Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has felicitated people on Raksha Bandhan wishing them happiness and welfare.

In a greetings message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir has great tradition of observing festivals and holy days in unity and togetherness. He called for further strengthening this trait and said that amity and brotherhood adds colours to the celebration of festivals. He prayed for the peace and development of the State and the country.

Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori greeted the people on the Raksha Bandhan and gave a call for renewed efforts to ensure the dignity of women to promote peace and harmony in society.

Saroori condemns Killing in Myanmar, seeks Indias intervention.

Jammu: - 'I feel it is important to express my deep regret for the failure of the world to react appropriately to the killing and persecution of Muslim ethnic Rohingya in Rakhine State, Myanmar (Burma),' said Former Minister J&K and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori in a press release.

He urges the government of Myanmar to find a fair and just solution to the current unrest, which includes a permanent solution for the hundreds of thousands stateless Rohingya that live in Western Myanmar.

Saroori also demanded the central government of India to take urgent steps to stop killings of innocent Muslims in Myanmar. He urged India’s foreign ministry to intervene in the matter. He also demanded that Muslim organizations who want to provide relief to the Muslims of Myanmar should be given permission to visit the country. He expressed anguish over the killings of innocent Muslims in Burma.

He urges Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC), United Nations as well as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to urgently respond to this latest outbreak of the crisis and take immediate actions to protect people, including women and children, from violence and persecution and work to provide emergency assistance to thousands of refugees displaced from their homes by recent violence.
