Saroori paid rich tributes to Congress MLC Ghulam Rasool.

Jammu, Jan 25: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Thursday paid rich tributes to Senior Congress Leader from Srinagar and MLC Sheikh Ghulam Rasool on his 17th death anniversary.
Paying floral tributes to the Former Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Saroori described him as a dynamic leader who was always committed to the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden in the state.
Mr Saroori said he was a tall leader who nurtured a dream of Peace, Progress in all parts of Jammu And Kashmir State and one of the most respected Leaders in the congress party because of his total dedication and devotion to the ideas of congress party which he followed throughout his life.
Mr Saroori said that the Congress MLC was of the view that the power should not be kept in government offices, but should be delegated to people.

Mr Saroori also lauded President IYC Loksabha Srinagar Sheikh Amir Rasool who is now following footsteps of his father.

Saroori express shock over accident at Bhalla on Doda-Bhaderwah road.



Jammu, January 16: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today expressed grief and shock in another tragic accident near Bhalla on Doda-Bhaderwah road in which at least 9 people were died and 13 other injured. “The mishap occurred when a matador skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge in Doda District”.

Saroori has conveyed his heart felt condolence to the family member of bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and early recovery to the injured persons.

He issued instructions to the doctors for taking extra care to the injured and ensuring all possible treatment to the injured.

Saroori has demanded release of ex-gratia relief in favour of the family members of those who have lost their lives and compensation to the injured being treated in different hospitals.

Saroori expresses deep concern over non availability of basic necessities in winter.


Appeal to Chief Minister to intervene in the matter.

Jammu, January 13: - Expressing his grave concern over the mountain woes of the common masses due to non availability of basic necessities Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed his concern over non availability of Power, Gas in Erstwhile District Doda of Jammu region.

In a statement issue here; Saroori said that in view of the harsh winters the hardships of the people have increased manifold. He said that many transformers have been damaged which resulted into the power crises in the area over the last one month. Charging the Power Development Department for not replacing damaged transformers in the Hura Tatani, Saroor, Khara, Trankel, Kansoo, Katota Drought, Gwass, Drabshallah, and for whole night Power department cuts the light and this is now become a routine from the last 15 days at Chatroo area, he demanded to replace transformers immediately.

Saroori also said that power schemes under RGGVY are not functional despite big-big claims by Power Department adding that un-scheduled power cuts have made the life miserable, rotten wooden poles and trees are used in place of poles causing risk of life and cattle. He demanded that rotten poles & barbed wires should be replaced by proper wires immediately in rural areas so that power losses can be mitigated. He further demanded that the Power department to provide transformers to the habitation consisting of 20 to 50 families

He observed that Official machinery seems to be completely collapsed because some areas are facing power curtailment between 15 to 18 hours. He urged the department to relax the electricity fee of BPL families which is highly exaggerated.

In this chilling winter when the temperature is below minus degree Celsius people are confronting to get Power, Gas and Drinking water the basic amenities. He urged government to initiates measures to curb black market of LPG cylinders he added that non availability of LPG cylinder has directly affected the common man. He stressed need for home delivery of cooking gas.

Saroori appealed to the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is also holding Power Department to intervene in the matter personally so that people may not suffer more.

Saroori greet people on Lohri, Sankranti, Pongal.

Jammu, January 11: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori greeted the nation especially people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Lohri, MakarSankranti and Pongal and said these "festivals celebrate fresh harvest and emphasize the importance of sharing in our lives".

In his message, Saroori said these festivals were a celebration of the joy and prosperity which were ushered in by fresh harvest. "May these festivals bind each one of us in fraternal love and affection and inspire us to work for the unity, progress and well being of our nation," Senior Congress Leader said.

Saroori visits GMC, enquires health of Khara and Goila accident victims.

Jammu, January 10: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori, on Thursday visited Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, and enquired about the health of the injured in the Goila Khara and Sirgwari accident victim.

The accident took place when Sumo carrying 3 person fell into deep gorge at Goila Khara area of Doda District, among one died one spot namely Yasir Ahmed R/o Chabba Khara and other one died at GMC Jammu namely Mohammad Shafi R/o Chirala Khara. Yasir Almed was a staunch Congress worker. Several Congress leaders attended Namaz-E-Jinazah which was offered at Khara Doda District.

During his visit District Commissioner Doda, Farooq Khan releases interim relief amounting Rs, 5,000 to injured namely Tariq Hussain R/o Khara beside Rs 10,000 to family of deceases namely Mohammad Shafi R/o Chirala and Yasir Ahmed R/o Chabba Khara. Red Cross society also gave Rs, 5,000 to the injured as well to deceased family.

Saroori asked the doctors about the status of injured and directed them to extend best Medicare to them for their early recovery. He also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of deceased and prayed for external peace to the departed soul. He also wished for early recovery to the injured. He appeals to Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah for early release of ex-gratia relief in favour of the family members of those who have lost their lives.

He also interacted with wounded persons of Sirgwari accident victims which take place on Tuesday including Mohd Ashraf, Pancham Singh, Uzma Wani, Yasir Ahmed, Aljahual Javed, Shagal Ishaq and Ikhlaq Ahmed.

Saroori demanded deployment of more SRTC buses in the hilly district especially Khara, Bunjwah, Sarthal, Saroor, Chatroo and other areas besides undertaking strict checking of the vehicles plying on these roads besides imposing ban on use of mobile phones by the drivers. He regretted that such accidents have become a routine affair but no concrete action has been taken so far by the government to save precious human lives. He also demanded to take effective steps in checking frequent accidents adding that the government should direct Traffic Police to keep a strict check on overloading and plying of old model buses due to which road mishaps have become a routine affair.

Saroori thanks Congress high command for taking initiative in the developmental works in Inderwal Constituency.

Jammu, January 8: - Prominent workers of different parties joined the Indian National Congress (INC) party from Inderwal Constituency. Whereas Mohd Shafi Malik, Ghulam Mohd Sheikh, Ghulam Mohd Malik, Dilawar Baksh, Abdul Qayoom Malik, Bashir Ahmed, Fatah Mohd, Ghulam Qadir Malik, Ghulam Mohammad Gujjar, Jaffar Hussain, Mohd Riyaz, Mohd Yasin Malik and other prominent persons who joined the Congress party in presence of Senior Congress Leader J&K Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.
Welcoming the new entrants into the Congress party fold, Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori assured them to come up to their expectations and continue the developmental works and the welfare of the poor or down trodden people initiated by the Former Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir and Union Health Minister and Family Welfare Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Saroori said that the doors of the party are always open for all those who believe in the programme and polices of the Indian National Congress and have faith in its leadership. He thanked Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for taking an initiative in the developmental works in all sectors in Inderwal Constituency. 

The new incumbents attributed the reasons of their joining the Congress to their disenchantment with the performance and policies of PDP, NC and BJP. They added that they are impressed with the performance, spirit of public service and the immaculate character of Mr Saroori. They also pledged that they would work for the welfare of the people and will take the policies and programmes of the party to every nook and corner of the area. They said that they would put in their sincere efforts in highlighting the problems and issues of the people. They also request Mr Saroori to come their place at Gawas area of Khara with Former Chief Minister J&K Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad where they will organize a huge rally.

General Secretary Youth Congress Inderwal and Sarpanch Farooq Ahmed Drought and Vice Sarpanch Manzoor Ahmed Malik were present during the function.

Saroori calls upon CM Omar.



Thanks for releasing ex-gratia relief for Bhaderwah accident victim.

Jammu, December 4:- Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori today called upon Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, where he demanded that the process for on spot police recruitment at Chatroo, Khara and Bunjawah area of Inderwal constituency may be taken up on priority. Hon’ble Chief Minister gave directions to MOS Home Shri Nasir Aslam Wani and Shri Ashok Prasad (IPS) DGP to go ahead with police recruitment in Inderwal.

MLA also demanded release of Rs4 crore for paying land compensation of road projects under NABARD and CRF and Hon’ble Chief Minister assured that the funds for the same will be released shortly.

Saroori presented memorandum to Hon’ble Chief Minister regarding sanctioning of 400KV Grid station near Rattle project Drabshallah including 132KV level for upgrading distribution system in Kishtwar and Doda Districts and assured that the matter will be taken up with the Union Power Ministry for sanctioning the same.

MLA further demanded medical aid for poor patients, Solar light on subsidy and early sanction of 2nd phase power projects under RGGVK, and Hon’ble Chief Minister took note of these pending demands and assured that the steps will be taken up regarding their redressal at an earliest.

Saroori also demanded for introduction of more subjects at the University campus of Kishtwar and up gradation of facilities at Kishtwar campus.

MLA Inderwal G M Saroori thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for releasing relief of the accident victims at Bhaderwah.
