Saroori urged govt to setup new fire station in remote and backward areas
Balgaran (Kishtwar) Dec 7: Senior Congress Leader
and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today visited the affected families
of fire victims in Bunjwah along with BDO
Drabshallah Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Congress Block President Drabhallah
Mohammad Iqbal Keen, local Sarpanch Chowdhary Masoodi and others.
In a tragic fire incident at Foolgwari
of Balgaran village in Kishtwar District, three storied building owned by Sewa
Ram son of Chait Ram completely gutted in fire incident caused accidentally.
People informed Mr. Saroori that as
people saw the flames coming out of the house, they raised alarm as a result of
which large number of people rush to the spot and started rescue operation, but
could not save the house from damage due to non-availability of water and fire
control equipment’s.
"Keeping in view the winter, people
appeal to the MLA Saroori to provide us relief and compensation. We have
suffered huge loss due to fire and are living under open sky in chilly weather
conditions,” the fire victims told MLA Saroori.
Saroori shows his great resentment towards
the state government, administration and fire tender service as they fail to
protect the public property despite being informed on time.
He expressed his sympathies with all the
victims. He directed upon the officials of the District Administration to
prepare the compensation cases of all the victims immediately so that they can
construct their house again before snow fall.
Saroori also urged the authorities to
set up a fire service station at Bunjwah, Chatroo, Sarthal and Bhalessa Town to
cater to the need of the people in the area. Being a remote and far flung area,
people suffer due to sudden break out of fire or man-made follies. He reminded Chief
Minister Omar Abdullah that on the floor of the Assembly, CM Omar had said that will
setup new Fire stations in the remote and backward areas but two years have
passed and no steps has been taken by the CM Omar.
Many a times human lives lost, animals
charred to death, residential houses and business establishments damaged
completely due to non-availability of fire extinguishing equipment’s.
In addition to this, one 303 rifle and
50 rounds belongs to owner of the house who is also a VDC member also gutted in
this fire incident. One minor identified as Amit Singh son of Rajinder Singh
received minor injuries.
