Congress leaders express grief over Gandoh, Thathri and Jeddah Saudi accidents

Thathri, April 29: Congress leaders expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the road accident at Gandoh and Fire incident at Thathri.

In a joint statement by PCC Vice President and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, JKPCC executive member and Former MLA Bhaderwah Mohammed Sharief Niaz, MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, Senior Congress leader Ghulam Mustafa Azad, Mohd Aslam Goni, Sheikh Mujeeb, PCC Media Coordinator Mehbooba Azad, PCC publicity secretary Nadeem Shareef Niaz and others.

Conveying their sympathies to the bereaved families, Congress leaders underlined the need to have an action plan to contain road accidents. They urged the State Government to take “meaningful steps to arrest the malaise of road accidents in the State.”Senior Congress leaders prayed for courage and strength to bereaved families and eternal peace of the departed souls.

The Congress leaders also urged the State Government to provide adequate ex-gratia relief to kin of victims and required medical attention to the injured. They have also expressed grief over the demise of Shaista Begum Wife of Abdul Hamid who died in a tragic fire incident at Thathri.

Meanwhile PCC Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of human lives in the unfortunate accident in which at least four persons from Kishtwar and Batmaloo died in Saudi Arabia.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Sidiq Mir, Bashiir Ahmed Mir and Rifat Era Sheikh (Kishtwar) and her daughter.

In a message, MLA Inderwal G M Saroori expressed his sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.

Saroori visited District Hospital Kishtwar inspected every ward and enquired about facilities and treatment quality from the patients



Complaint about the non-availability of medicines in the hospitals

Kishtwar, April 28: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today visited District Hospital Kishtwar and took stock of its functioning. MLA Inderwal inspected each and every ward of the hospital and enquired about various facilities and treatment quality from the patients and their attendants.

The hospital authority apprised the MLA Inderwal about the various initiatives and problems being faced by the patients. They complaint that only dextrose is being supplied and there is non-availability of medicines in the hospital. The patients have to buy all the medicines themselves from the market, as the poor patients are face to face with acute shortage of medicines in the hospital, patients seems to be at receiving and facing lots of hardship.

Saroori got surprised and shocked to see that there are no medicines available in the District Hospital Kishtwar being the life line of the whole region ranging from Bunjwah to Chatroo, Padder, Dacchan, Marwah, Saroor, Sarthal, Nagseni and Kellar of Himachal Pardesh has to deal with all sort of accidents, mishaps and medical emergencies.

He immediately took the matter with Commissioner Secretary Health Mr. M. K Bhandari telephonically and informed him that there are no medicines available in the district hospital Kishtwar due to which it is hard to for the Doctors to run the hospital. Commissioner Secretary Health assured Mr. Saroori that within two days all medicines will be supplied in the hospital so that poor patients won’t face any hardship in the future time.

Local staff of the hospital also met with Mr. Saroori and pressed to him for raising the issue of early regularization of their service on the floor of the assembly, to which Saroori said Congress party is of the view that those who have completed 5 years of their services should be regularized at an earliest. He assured that regularization of the employees would be the main issue of the Congress party in the upcoming Assembly session.

Saroori enquired about the health of various patients in the hospital. He interacted with the patients attended and assured them all help. He also wished for early recovery of the patients. He was accompanied by Congress leaders including Mohd Younus Saleem, Noor Hussain, Firdous Ahmed Mingnoo, Shaik Abrar Saroori, Dawood Bashir and others.

Later Saroori also visited the residence of late Abdul Subhan Kichloo, late Ghulam Qadir Tappal, late Master Ghulam Rasool Butt, late Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Najar and others to personally condoles their deaths. Mr. Saroori stayed with the bereaved families and expressed his sympathy and solidarity with them, offered fatiyah, consoled the family members and prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss. At Kuriya Saroori also inspected the under construction passenger shed in Panchayat Loiedhar B, under BRGF at a cost of Rs 2 lakhs. He was accompanied by Bidya Lal Sharma, Ghulam Mouhiuddin, Irshad Ahmed and others.

Saroori met with angry workers of Chenani-Nashri tunnel



Provide adequate ration to the general public within a week time: Saroori to AD Doda; Met with various deputations at Thathri

Udhampur/Thathri, April 27: - Up in arm against alleged non-adherence of Labour laws and less wages, labourers and workers of different construction companies, engaged for construction of Chenani-Nashri tunnel, held a token protest.

State Vice President Congress (INC) and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today met with angry workers of Chenani-Nashri tunnel who held a massive protest demonstration against Government inaction and indifference towards their genuine and legitimate demands.

The protesting workers apprised Mr. Saroori of their pending demands which include implementation of labour laws & Minimum Wages Act, nonpayment of the salaries, wages in lieu of overtime, safeguard equipments, engagement of local labourers, termination of outsider labourers, non-adherence of labour laws by the companies, grant of casual, earned and medical leave.

Addressing the workers, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that the basic right to protest in favour of demands is being crushed whenever people demonstrate. He said that the workers are denied basic statuary facilities and are also being subjected to unlawful victimization in terms of basic rights whenever they protest through a strong contractor management-administration-police nexus.

Saroori lamented that the workers at Chenani-Nashir tunnel are not being paid even minimum wages, not covered under social benefits like Employees Provident Fund Act, not being paid their allowances for overtime and there is no sufficient safety mechanism available to them.

He asked Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Labour Commissioner and Official of Construction Company to address the genuine demands of workers working in the said project at an earliest. He also assured the workers that if the DC Udhampur and other officials didn’t take any step in addressing these issues before the start up of upcoming Assembly session. Congress party will raise these issues on the floor of the Assembly so that your (Labourer) demands would be addressed on priority.

Saroori also inspected the construction work of the tunnel at Chenani. He was accompanied by officials of Nashri Tunnel. The 9 kilometers, 2-lane main tunnel is in completion stage to link Chenani with Nashri in Ramban area to slash 31 kilometers of the journey making the travel smooth and comfortable by reducing the journey by 2 hours.

At Doda, Saroori met with AD CAPD Doda Sayed Ahmed and CPO Doda Yoginder Katoch and has alleged severe shortage of ration in the far flung areas of the district. He said many Government ration depots have turned defunct as there was shortage of ration. Not only atta and rice but sugar has also not been provided to the consumers. He said if CAPD department fail to provide adequate ration to the general public within a week time, strong demonstrate will be held in all the areas of the district hence consequences will be bad.

Later at Thathri Dak Bungalow, Saroori met with various deputations hailing from sub-division Thathri where the people apprised the MLA Inderwal about various problems being faced by them. He stressed upon the officers to work hard for providing services to the people at their door step. SDM Thathri Abdul Qayoom Mir, Tehsildar Phagsoo Rajesh Kumar, NT Thathri Mohd Iqbal, officials from PHE Mohd Aslam, from Education Mir Ali, local Congress leaders and others were present on the occasion.

Congress leaders visited far flung areas of Inderwal Assembly segment

Kishtwar, April 25: Staunch Congress leaders which include Mohammad Aslam Saroori from Sarthal, Tariq Hussain Wani from Mugalmaidan, Akhtar Hussain Khurwani from Tatani Saroor today visited the far flung areas of Inderwal constituency of Kishtwar district.

Reaching out to the masses at their doorstep in order to give respite them from hardships being faced by them, Congress leader today visited Paar Bhagran, Angara, Pora Chandali, Tatani, Neera, Thal, Thal Sout, Parray Mohallah and Mugalmaidan areas.

While addressing series of people gatherings, Congress leaders accused BJP leadership of raging war in between various communities of India and pouring controversies over controversy, which they claimed to be their old tactic to hide its shortcomings and diverting the minds of common masses from genuine issues.

"BJP raised many a series of dramatic issues which include 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai Row' which resulted into many a hundreds of small and large uprisings and war of words flaring tension throughout the country. Such divisive politics is highly condemnable and is needed to be checked ", said Congress leaders.

Congress leaders while recalling BJP leaders of their ‘Gigantic Promises’ asked them as to what happened to those tall promises for which they got overwhelming support from common man during 2014 General Elections, What happened to those 'Acche Din' and urged them to at least return their 'Puraney Din' (Old Days) which they claimed to be the glorific days of life.

"BJP government at Centre and state has lagged the state of Jammu and Kashmir by ten years which is huge loss for the state. They have miserably failed in delivering during the very first year in the state", Congress leaders from Inderwal said.

They further said that BJP leadership believes in 'Cheap Politics', as they left no stone unturned in trying to dethrone the Congress Government in various Congress ruled states, first they tried to depose government in Arunachal Pradesh, now in Uttarakhand where the nefarious design of BJP were foiled by the Hon'ble High Court.

"We as a single team is needed to foil all those filthy tactics of ruling NDA by exposing the ugly and nefarious designs of BJP in front of poor masses ", Mohd Aslam, Akhtar Khurwaey and Tariq Wani said.

During the tour, they were apprised about various day-to-day problems being faced by them, of which they were assured of redressal at an earliest.


Ghulam Mohammad Saroori condole Bashir Ahmed and Irshad Ahmed deaths

Kishtwar, April 26: - Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Inderwal, Mr. G. M. Saroori today expressed deep grief over the sad demises of Shri Bashir Ahmed resident of Bani Trankhle and Shri Irshad Ahmed resident of Phagsoo Thathri who passed away yesterday.

Saroori expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and conveyed his sympathy. He prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in heaven. Kishtwar, April 25: - State Congress Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Master Ghulam Rasool Butt son of Gani Butt, Sarpanch Haloor of tehsil Drbashalla who passed away today due to heart attack.

Saroori described late Ghulam Rasool Butt as man of principals who worked with sincerity for the upliftment of the people especially the habitants of far-flung area of Haloor.

In his condolence message, Saroori expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul beside a place for him in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.

Later Saroori visited Government Medical College hospital (GMC&H) Jammu to enquire about the health of various patients hailing from Kishtwar, Chatroo, Thathri, Patshalla, Thathri and Bhalessa areas who are suffering from various diseases.

MLA Inderwal G. M Saroori interacted with the patients attended at GMC Hospital, Jammu and assured them all help. He asked the doctors about the status of the patients and instructed the Hospital authorities and Doctors to provide every required medical facility to the patients so that they do not feel any inconvenience. Saroori also wished for early recovery of the patients.

Saroori visiting Doda, Kishtwar from 27th April

Jammu, April 24: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori to kick start one month long tour of twin districts of Chenab Valley, Kishtwar and Doda from 27th of April.

He will take stock of the damages due to incessant rains and will also check the pace of developmental activities in the area. He will also hold public grievance meetings at Tehsils headquarters for redressal of general public demands.

Besides this, Saroori will also hold Congress workers meetings in every panchayats of the Inderwal Assembly segment and at districts headquarters of Doda and Kishtwar.

In his condolence message to Ch. Zulfkar Ali, the MLA Inderwal expressed sympathies with the bereaved family recalling the philanthropic and compassionate traits of the deceased.

Saroori condoles demise of Dr. Manzoor Yetoo

Jammu, April 16: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has deeply condoled the sad demise of Project officer in JK cement, Dr. Manzoor Yetoo who died in New Delhi hospital due to illness.

Saroori has described the demise of Manzoor Yetoo a great loss to the State as he was intelligent, honest and noble human being. He has extended sympathies and solidarity with the bereaved family on this irreparable loss and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

It is to mention here that Dr. Manzoor Yetoo is highly qualified and has started his carrier as an Engineer, then completed MBA (Project Management) and then PHD in Environment Management. He has served in Jammu and Kashmir in various capacities including Project Manager in JK Cements Ltd, State Pollution Control Board, besides technical advisor, expert for Indo European chambers of commerce and Industries. He has also served in the personal section of the then Minister of state for Education, CAPD, Forest, Social welfare, Tourism and Minister for state for R&B, G. M Saroori from 2008 to 2010. A people friendly officer, he had to his credit developing JK cement one of the successful corporation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Saroori has also expressed deep grief over the sad demise of Sarva Begum, Mother of Bashir Ahmed Malik resident of Maliknar Chatroo. He has prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed soul beside place for her in heaven. Congress condemns killings in Handwara and Kupwara Srinagar


“Barbarism the government forces can go to” in absence of an accountable and sensitive administration”

Jammu, April 13: Expressing disgust, pain and grief at the latest killings in Handwara and Kupwara area of Srinagar, State Congress senior leaders Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Usman Majeed, Gulzar Ahmed Wani today said the government was only fuelling anger by shedding innocent blood of teenagers.

In a statement Congress leaders said the ‘spiraling count of our dear ones adds to the long list of tragedies caused by wanton use of state force against unarmed and defenseless protesters.’

State Congress senior leaders said the death of Raja Begum, Mohammad Iqbal, Nayeem Bhat and Jahangir Ahmed Wani indicates the extent of “barbarism the government forces can go to” in absence of an accountable and sensitive administration.

“Killings of Raja Begum, Mohammad Iqbal, Nayeem Bhat and Jahangir Ahmed Wani add another dark and painful chapter of atrocities to the ever tragic Kashmir story,” said Saroori, Dar, Bhat, Majeed and Gulzar. They said the killings come at a time when the wounds of Burhan Bashir, Shaista Hamid and Danish Farooq Mir similar recent atrocities at Sopore and Pulwama are still fresh and an effort should have been on to reverse the diabolic dance of death.

Meanwhile State Congress Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has condoled sudden deaths of Mohan Lal Parihar resident of Horna Palmar in district Kishtwar, a retired prosecution officer and father of principal and session judge Sanjay Parihar, Abdul Majeed resident of Naan Chabba Kahara who died in GMC hospital Jammu yesterday, Nazia Begum wife of Rehamtullah Wani resident of Tarankhle, daughter of Mohammad Issaq Dhinda resident of Suranga Bunjwah, Mohammad Ibrahim son of Said Mohammad, Dullah son of Haji Taj Mohammad resident of Kunar Patnazi and Dr. Bhagat Ram Hakeem resident of Nagni Patshallah.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families”, said Saroori.

Expressing grief and shock over the sad demises of Mohan Lal, Abdul Majeed, Nazia Begum, Mohammad Ibrahim, Dullah, Bhagat Ram and daughter of Mohd Issaq, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that their death has created a vacuum which cannot be filled so easily.

“They were highly learned and committed persons of Horna, Kahara and Bunjwah areas,” said Saroori.

Saroori grieved over loss of precious lives on Doda-Gundana road accident

‘Urges Govt to provide adequate compensation to families’

Jammu, April 10: - Vice President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed deep condolences on the death of hapless passengers in a road accident on Doda-Gundana road of Doda district.

Saroori said, “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their dear ones in the fatal accident and I pray to Almighty to give them strength to withstand this tragic loss. I also pray for the speedy recovery of those who have got injured.”

It is pertinent to mention that 6 passengers lost their lives while a few many got injured when an ill fated vehicle fell down into a deep gorge Doda-Gundana road area of Doda District.

Saroori also urged the Government to provide adequate ex-gratia relief to the families of those who lost their lives and extend all possible assistance to those who got injured in the unfortunate accident.

Drawing the attention of Chief Minister towards the frequent occurrence of road accidents leading to loss of precious lives, Saroori said that there is a need to have a comprehensive road safety action plan to contain the rising number of accidents.

“Road safety is a key concern in J&K State due to geographical and other factors and keeping in view the loss incurred by the State, I had written to Chief Minister earlier underlining the need to formulate a coherent action plan. Governor J&K had shown personal interest to involve experts and stake-holders to formulate a road safety policy. I hope the Government will take due note of the ground work done by the State Government under the guidance of Governor J&K and use it for the safety and convenience of the general public”, said Saroori.

Saroori enquire about road Mishap victims In "Doda Bus Accident"

Jammu, April 11: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today visited Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu to enquire about the health of those who were injured in an unfortunate road mishap on Doda-Gundana road yesterday.

Saroori interacted with the patient’s attendants and assured them all necessary assistance. He directed the GMC authorities for providing specialized diagnostic, treatment facilities to the patients.

"I wished for early recovery of the injured persons", Saroori said.

Saroori visited Wani’s residence to condole death of his father

Jammu, April 08: State Congress Vice president and MLA Inderwal, Mr. G. M Saroori today visited the residence of General Secretary JKPCC and Former MLA Doda, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani to personally condole the demise of his father late Khawaja Ghulam Ahmed Wani.

Mr. Saroori stayed with the bereaved family and expressed his sympathy and solidarity with him. He prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed soul beside a place for them in heaven.

MLA Inderwal G. M Saroori has also greeted people of the state on the eve of Navratra. Correct the errors in allotment of ration cards to families in sub-division Chatroo: Congress leaders

Mugalmaidan, April 06: - Condolence meeting was held at Tehsil headquarters Mugalmaidan in the memory of Late Ghulam Qadir Tapal Senior Congress leader, who passed away on 31st of March.

The gathering was addressed by Senior Congress leaders including Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Altaf Hussain Malik, Mohinder Singh Parihar, Mohammad Iqbal Keen, Raj Badyal, Chowdhary Noor Din, Tariq Wani, Santosh Kumar, Noor Hussain, Hafiz Ali, Firdous Ahmed Mingnoo, Irshad Ahmed, Satish Kumar and others.

All the speakers highlighted the role of late Tappal sahab and described him as secular, social and dynamic leader who was having a good leadership quality. Tappal sahab has served the Congress from the last four decades and has termed his death as a great loss not only for the Congress party but to the people of sub-division Chatroo as well. He has always worked for strengthening the party and was famous for serving the people to the best of his ability.

They said that his complete faith in secularism made Tappal sb acceptable and dear amongst all the sectors of the society. “He was never allowed by the narrow considerations of caste, religion & region”, said Congress leaders adding that these attributes made him what he was today.

Meanwhile Congress workers led by Senior Congress leader from Mugalmaidan Tariq Hussain Wani slammed the CAPD department for unfair allotment of ration cards to the families in sub-division Chatroo, as BPL families are placed in APL and vice versa which is a thing that needed to be taken seriously. The furious workers from Mugalmdain have warned the officials of CAPD to correct the errors in allotment of ration cards to families at an earliest. They said if the ration cards are not allotted according to the criteria, all the Congress leaders, workers will demonstrate a strong protest and the consequences will be really bad.

Congress leader tours Pora, Chandali area of Sarthal

Kishtwar, April 05: Senior Congress leader, Mohammad Aslam Saroori who is also Sarpanch from Karool C Panchayat today conducted an extensive tour of Pora, Chandali area of Sarthal in order to get firsthand knowledge about the problems being faced by the people living in far flung areas of Sarthal in district Kishtwar.

During the tour, Mohammad Aslam Saroori was apprised about the various day to day problems being confronted by the residents of Pora, Chandali area of the Sarthal. He assured that their issues would be taken up at appropriate forum and would be addressed at an earliest.

On the occasion locals have shown their gratitude towards Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori for fulfilling another promise by sanctioning Health Centre (Hospital) at Pora which they termed to be the 'Need of the hour'.

"We are grateful to have such a hard working MLA, who have whole heartedly come up to over expectations. We are hopeful that such positive work would go on the same way in future also", local peoples of Pora Chandali said.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed profound sorrow & grief on the sudden demise of veteran Congress Leader and a prominent political personality of Chatroo, Ghulam Qadir Tappal.

Saroori said that passing away of Sh. Ghulam Qadir Tappal has created fathomless void in the political landscape of the Chatroo which is not easy to be bridged. “Sh. Ghulam Qadir Tappal was a remarkable politician, extraordinary human being and a strong pillar of Congress Party”, said Saroori, adding that his passing away is a colossal loss for the Chatroo and the Party.

“I stand in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief”, said Saroori adding that in the passing away of Sh. Ghulam Qadir Tappal I have lost a longtime associate and a deal colleague.

Recalling his amiable ways & humble demeanour, Saroori said that Sh Tappal’s political conduct will remain an inspiration for the younger politicians of the district Kishtwar. Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that Sh. Ghulam Qadir Tappal was fully and completely devoted to the service of the society all along his political career, spanning more than five decades. “During his long political journey Sh. Tappal remained committed to the secular principles and inclusive political approach of Congress Party”, said Saroori.

Describing him a farsighted and people-centric politician, Saroori said that Sh. Ghulam Qadir Tappal served the people of the Chatroo with exceptional poise, caliber and devotion.

Saroori prayed for the eternal piece of the departed soul and grant of strength & fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

It is pertinent to mention that Sh. Ghulam Qadir Tappal served as president block Congress Committee, Tehsil President Chatroo, Kisan Cell during his long political journey.

Meanwhile Saroori has also expressed profound grief and sorrow on the passing away of Sh. Abdul Qayoom Butt Congress leader from Thathri and Sandeep Kumar resident of Premnagar Doda who was presently posted as AD Planning Kishtwar who died due to cardiac arrest in Kishtwar. “I stand in solidarity with their families in this hour of grief”, said Saroori. MLA Inderwal also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
