BATHRI, JUNE 29: - State Congress Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori exhorted the party workers to aggressively pursue the agenda of the party because people of the State have endorsed, from time to time, the policies and programmes of the party. He said that Congress had translated its promises into realities so people of the State have very high hopes from our party.

Addressing two public meetings here at Kahara and Bathri areas in Doda district, Saroori said that Congress, through its works during its tenure, has earned credibility of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the masses were looking towards Congress to get their aspirations addressed.

“People have realized that only Congress has the vision and conviction to solve their problems so they have pinned their hopes on Congress”, Saroori said and exhorted the local Congress leaders to come up to the expectations of the common masses. “Programmes and policies of the Congress are formulated after incorporating wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the state”, he said and emphasized on the need of properly educating the people about agenda of the party.

“You have to categorically tell the people that agenda of Congress is to solve the people problems and to establish lasting peace in this region”, Saroori told the workers and called for mobilizing public opinion in favour of Congress’s agenda. Politics of our party is not only to attain power. Aim of our party is to restore lasting peace in this region and to establish a system where every section of the society would get justice and equal opportunities for development and economic growth”, Saroori said and pointed out that during Ghulam Nabi Azad’s Congress led regime had carved out a path of peace and development in the state.

While welcoming four dozens of PDP, BJP workers from Bathri area of Kahara block, Mr. Saroori asserted that Congress stands guarantee for preserving and maintaining time tested secular ethos and regional unity of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and made a clarion call to all those believing in unique characteristics of the state to get united under its banner to fight divisive forces. Times have proven that flaring up regional and religious passions cannot take a homogenous state like Jammu and Kashmir anywhere.

Earlier, Saroori also visited the residence of those who recently passed away in Phagsoo Thathri areas. He stayed with the bereaved families and expressed his sympathy and solidarity with them, offered fatiyah, consoled the family members and prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.

CHAMOTI, JUNE 24: - Reaching out to the people of Tehsil Drabshalla in district Kishtwar, PCC Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori held a public grievance redressal meeting at Chamoti area to stock of the people’s problems and developmental needs.

The people apprised MLA Inderwal about the problems being faced by them in their areas. The problems which were highlighted by people were mainly related to filling of vacant posts in sub-centres/ISM health sub centres, drinking water facility, early completion of road projects, issue of new ration cards for BPL section, potable drinking water, early clearance of payment in-favour of MGNREGA job card holders, construction of bathrooms under IHHL scheme, timely distribution of ration and opening of new Aganwari centres.

While addressing the gathering, Saroori said that the former Chief Minister J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad tenure has led the J&K state into the era of development and growth. He said whatever Mr. Azad said in his statement regarding the Kashmir issue is the truth and ground reality in the Kashmir.

Saroori expressed serious concern over the continuous killings of civilians in Kashmir and said that “with no letup in the killing of people, especially youth, it has once again come to fore that there is no respect for humans in the Valley.” He said “life in Kashmir has become very tough as in some places; situation is quite similar to that of early 90's.”

He took the feedback from the officials of various departments present there. He urged the officials to prove their best in solving the public grievances and timely completion of sanctioned developmental projects. He announced blacktopping on 10 km’s long Machepal to Chamoti road which will be executed by PMGSY department and said within a year time, said developmental work will be completed. He also emphasized that the prime motto of his as MLA is to address the all public issues on priority basis. He said that Congress is committed to reach up to the last man living in the most neglected sections of the society.

Regarding electricity problems in the area, Saroori said that Saubhagya, DDU, RGGVY phase II schemes will provide electricity to every nook and corner of Inderwal constituency within a year time besides 63kv transformers will be installed in place of 25kv. He said that the delay was due to tendering process and said that work on the said schemes will be start at an earliest. He said that funds have been released to clear the previous liabilities under MGNREGA and called upon the officers to ensure that timely wages are being released to the job seekers in lieu of work done in a transparent manner. He also said that strenuous efforts are being made to get all liability under the scheme liquidated very shortly.

Saroori said that he is well aware of public issues and all possible measures and well knit mechanism is being formulated to resolve them so that development and prosperity of people is ensured. He added that provision of basic amenities including electricity, roads, healthcare and education is among his prime priorities and no stone will be left unturned in this regard. MLA Inderwal has urged the officers to help resolve public issues on priority and be prompt to redress their grievances.

Later dozens of political activists from Bugrana Drabshalla, Bhalessa, Mugalmaidan areas joined the Congress party. Welcoming the new entrants, Saroori said their joining the party would further strengthen the Congress party and said "It is high time to further spread message of the party in every village and hamlet of Jammu and Kashmir particularly erstwhile district Doda," he said and asserted that policies and programmes of the party were formulated by incorporating wishes of every section of the society.

MLA Inderwal also informed the public that deck has been cleared for the construction of Tunnel from Singpora-Vailoo tunnel which will not only shorten the distance but also provide all-weather connectivity between the two regions of the state and the work on this prestigious project will start next year, as such the DPR work will be completed by this year October. Construction of this tunnel was my, people of Chenab Valley and that of Anatnag dream. The said tunnel will help to give a boost to the tourism of Chenab Valley and that of the Kokernag area as well.

Dozens of political activists from Singpora, Malikpura, Wanipura, Kalamsoey, Mehjar joined Congress party, showing full faith and confidence in the programmes and policies of the Congress. While welcoming the new entrants, Saroori said “The Congress was the only party which can fight communal and divisive forces in the state who are out to mislead the people by spreading false propaganda and disinformation.” He said under the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad sahib, the Congress will again galvanised in all three regions of the state.

SARTHAL, JUNE 20: - Vice President J&K Congress and MLA Inderwal, G. M. Saroori said equipping rural and far flung areas of Sarthal with all required infrastructure is his priority and mega-projects have been launched to upgrade rural infrastructure. He said focused attention is being paid to transform development profile of these areas which were lagging behind in the overall development front.

Saroori was addressing public meeting here at Moharwari, Ladsa, Bhagra, Dindha basti, Narwar and other areas of Sarthal in tehsil Kishtwar and welcomed the decision of imposition of Governor Rule in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the two parties (PDP and BJP) have committed a sort of sin by throwing dust in the eyes the electorate by giving different slogans in order to secure their votes but later threw all those slogans into the dustbin to share power and now blaming on each other after destroying Jammu and Kashmir. He said BJP has destroyed Jammu region and PDP has destroyed Kashmir region and both are wholly solly responsible for the current grim situation occur in the state.

He said that Congress will continue to work for peace and normalcy, besides highlighting the miseries of people in all the three regions for their resolution, Saroori added and said it is the Congress Party alone, which has served the people to the best of its ability, will remain committed to work for wellbeing of the people, as a constructive opposition, as that, Congress Party believes in peace, unity and development.

Saroori asserted that early redressal of people’s grievances and problems is his top priority and I am committed to ensure speedy redressal of grievances at people’s doorsteps besides committed to the people living in far-off areas of Inderwal constituency and all out efforts have been launched to address development aspirations of these people,” he added.

During the public meetings, people projected various demands and problems of their respective areas seeking an early redressal of the same. MLA Inderwal listened to the grievances of people and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the same. The issues which were brought to the notice of the Mr. Saroori pertained to improvement in the drinking water supply, road connectivity, electricity and other basic facilities.

Responding to demands and grievances of the people, Mr. Saroori assured the people of these villages that their genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner. Earlier Mr. Saroori also attended the annual function of Madrasa Bhagara. Later at MLA Inderwal residence many political activists have joined Congress. While welcoming Mr. Saroori said their joining will reinvigorate the party further, enabling it to achieve the cherished agenda of the Congress by making Jammu and Kashmir economically stable and politically vibrant state.

KISHTWAR, JUNE 19: - Asserting that the Indian National Congress has retained its premier role in state politics and will continue to do in future time as well, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohamamd Saroori said it will emerge as a force to reckon in the upcoming elections.

Mr. Saroori who was addressing the party workers from Thathri, Kahara, Jakyas Bhalessa, Bunjwah, Drabshalla, Sarthal, Thakrie, Mugalmaidan, Chatroo areas told party workers here to remain steadfast in their mission to serve the people.

The Congress workers apprised Mr. Saroori about the party affairs, socio-economic and political development in their respective areas. They thanked Mr. Saroori for taking into confidence “every worker and leader” in respect of party affairs and assured him (G. M Saroori) that every leader and worker will work united for further “rejuvenation” of the party. They also assured Mr. Saroori that every worker and leader of the Inderwal constituency will work together and take party’s programs and policies ahead with dedication and zeal.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said Congress Party is a vibrant force in the State and will get further strengthened at all levels. Terming Congress Party as an “instrument of Service”, he said party has delivered enough and it has the capacity to deliver.

Saroori asked party workers to accelerate political activities and make them aware about the Congress Party’s policies and programs. He said Congress Party which has the history of 125 years of serving the people of Country, and has always taken care of poor and downtrodden sections. “Congress has always worked for people’s progress, prosperity and development, so every Congress worker and leader is duty bound to serve the people and should never lag behind in serving the society,” he said. "Despite obstacles created by the opponents by indulging in malicious propaganda, Congress has retained its premier role in the state politics, which will again be reflected in the future elections.

He also predicted total annihilation of Bhartiya Janta Party in the future election because of its duplicity and anti-people policies and said the process of its degeneration has already begun.

Saroori said divisive politics of the parties like PDP and BJP are detrimental to the growth and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir which is facing peculiar problems on economic and political fronts that need unique treatment with a sense of urgency. He referred to the difficult situation created due to policies after 2014 and said maneuvering of PDP, BJP exposed the people to enormous problems and brought the state to morass. However, he maintained that only Congress has a capability of bringing the situation under control in the state and a new era of peace will begin only after that which will give fillip to prosperity, peace, economic, development activities and tourism promotion.

On the occasion a deputation of Rehbar-E-Taleem teachers also met Saroori here at Kishtwar and demanded that there is dire need to delink the salary of SSA teachers and Head Teachers from the central budget to state budget in order to regularize posts and salaries putting an end to the existing unjustified problem and thus providing the sigh of relief to the aggrieved employees of Education Department. Mr. Saroori assured that he will leave no stone unturned in redressing the genuine issues of teacher.

Eid-ul-Fitr comes after a month of fasting, a period of soul elevation

KISHTWAR, JUNE 14: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal Mr. G. M. Saroori today have greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In his message Saroori said “Eid-ul-Fitr comes after a month of fasting, a period of soul elevation in which the essentials of faith are rejuvenated. These include Islam's message of peace and fraternity of all humankind".

Saroori said that the festival evokes feelings of brotherhood, compassion and sharing in all and strengthens the pluralistic bonds of the country's composite society. He also said that the auspicious occasion brought to the fore the noble instincts in people. May the values that Muslims throughout the world venerate during Ramadan-charity, sacrifice, and compassion – point the way to achieving freedom, tolerance, and peace among all peoples. “May this year's Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations strengthen mutual goodwill and inspire each one of us to follow the path of love, compassion and is marked by the spirit of brotherhood and sacrifice," Saroori said.

G. M Saroori inaugurated Aadhaar enrolment in HSS Sarthal




Promised to develop HSS Sarthal on modern pattern

SARTHAL, JUNE 13: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori inaugurated Aadhaar enrollment for students up to higher secondary level, of Inderwal at Sarthal Higher Secondary School.

On the occasion, Principal HSS Sarthal, staff members and local people were present on the occasion. The Registrar for Aadhaar enrolment informed that all the students of the school will be enrolled for the Aadhaar facility.

Mr. Saroori interacted with the students and teachers of the Higher Secondary School and advised students to stay focused about their aims and goals and be consistent and work with full dedication. He said that students are honour and blessing for the society. He said that Sarthal HSS has a huge contribution in the deliverance of education to students in Sarthal. He said that through the enrollment process, teachers and their families who have not yet availed the facility can be covered as well.

The MLA Inderwal promised that this school will be developed in such a way so that it comes up as one of the fine schools of the district. He has also inspected the Rs. 12 lakhs construction work in the school executed under CDF.

Later Mr. Saroori visited Moharwari and Ladsa areas of Sarthal and listens the grievances of the general public. He assured them that their problems will be redressed on top priority.

KUCHAL, JUNE 12: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, G. M Saroori convened a public darbar at Kuchal area of tehsil Mugalmaindan to listen to the problems of people at their door steps.

The Darbar was attended by the officials from RDD, PHE, CAPD, watershed, I&FC, PDD, Education besides local congressmen’s.

Most of the public demands were pertaining to the provision of safe drinking water supply, rational and speedy ration supply, upgradation of link roads, power facility and proper upkeep of transformers, clearance of MGNREGA and IHHL liability, blacktopping on various link roads, health care, etc.

Reiterating his commitment to keep constant rapport with the public and move the administration out of the offices to villages, Saroori said on the spot appraisal of public needs and redressal of their grievances will be the benchmark of his governance. He enquired about the status of each work pointed out by the public to officers who gave details of the projects and timeframe for their completion. He emphasized the need for completing all works in a targeted timeframe and asked the officers to formulate proposals for various demands projected by the people during the open darbar.

Mr. Saroori said that holding of such darbars will form a permanent feature and the gap between administration and the public would be reduced to zero level so that policy planning will be framed according to the public needs in particular areas. This will also give ample opportunity to the officers of various departments to get firsthand appraisal of the problems of people in rural and far-flung areas.

He also congratulated the people of Kuchal that on his recommendation the education department has upgraded the High School Kuchal up to Higher Secondary level. He has also announced blacktopping on Kakerwagan to Kuchal and Dadpeth to Tagood roads and said within two months of time these roads will be blacktopped. He further announced construction house in Kuchal and Simbole areas which will solve the drinking water problems in the area. He said that the development plans devised by him for Kuchal area will ensure socio economic transformation of the people living in rural and remote areas. He said that he (Saroori) is aware of the problems of the people living in rural areas and assured to fulfill public needs like water, power, education, healthcare and road connectivity besides improving existing facilities. He said the development plans framed for the area would benefit every part of the Kuchal.

During the public interaction, Mr. Saroori assured people that their genuine grievances would be addressed on priority. He further asked the officers to work with honesty and dedication and come up to the expectation of the people and mitigate their problems. He asked the people to come up and avail maximum benefit from the schemes launched in the area for upliftment of socio-economic condition of weaker sections of the society.

Congress leaders greets people on Shab-e-Qadr

Jammu, June 11: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha (MP), Ghulam Nabi Azad, Vice president JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Executive Member JKPCC Mohammed Sharief Niaz, General Secretary JKPCC Abdul Majid Wani today felicitated people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Qadr, also known as Lyla-tul-Qadr, the holy night when people congregate to pray to Almighty Allah seeking his forgiveness.


Highlighting the importance of Shab-e-Qadr, the Congress leader in their message, stated that the holy night in which Almighty Allah revealed the Glorious Qu’ran to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for the guidance of mankind, has given us an opportunity to seek his mercy and blessings.

Provide better services to people on Eid

KISHTWAR, JUNE 11: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori asked government to release pending wages of thousands of daily wagers, casual laborers as well as salaries of the employees of various corporations including Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers who are recruited under centrally sponsored Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and payments of contractors before Eid-ul- Fitr, who he said have not been paid a single penny for a long time now.

In a statement issued today, Saroori said: "Every month they are made to beg for the release of their own salaries. The government has miserably failed to maintain uniformity in release of funds from the State Project Director (SPD) of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) to the respective districts, "he said.
“Teachers and employees in different departments are going through tough times given the delay in their salaries. They are subjected to mental torture as their whole family suffers due to the delay in release of their salary,” Saroori said and added that these people do a lot of hard work without any returns. He also said that in view of the festivals of “EID and DIWALI” this is a time that Government would realize the difficulties of these employees and issue orders for release of salaries with benefits of 7th pay commission.

The PDP-BJP government had promised that it will bring change in the state, but it seems the only change they have brought so far is to deny wages to the hardworking employees,” “It is irony of sorts that these employees are not being paid even minimum wages,” he said and voicing concern over their plight, Saroori urged upon the government to release the payment of contractors, teachers and wages of these laborers on the auspicious day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In view of ensuing Eid-ul- Fitr, Mr. Saroori called a meeting here at Thathri Dak Bungalow and at his residence Kishtwar and urged upon the administrations of twin districts Doda and Kishtwar to ensure that the people do not face any inconvenience on account of security, traffic management, drinking water, power supply, healthcare services and sanitation during the auspicious days. He said that all the concerned departments should work in close coordination and proper measures should be put in place to ensure availability of essentials including rations, Atta, sugar, Kerosene oil, LPG, meat, poultry etc on reasonable rates. He also called for intensifying the market checking to curb profiteering and black-marketing of essentials.

The Power department was asked to replace all the damaged transformers before Eid and ensure uninterrupted power supply during these days. “There should be no disruption of electricity supply especially during Eid-Ul-Fitr,” Saroori urged Chief Engineer PDD Jammu. The Municipality officers of Thathri and Kishtwar were asked to ensure proper sanitation especially in and around the shrines and mosques in Thathri and Kishtwar areas besides also directed the RTO Kishtwar and Doda to ensure that proper transportation facilities are provided to the devotees during these days.

Mr. Saroori further urged Police Officials to ensure all security arrangements are in place before the festival in Chenab Valley to avoid repetition of “any type of violence” there on the occasions of “Eid-ul-Fitr”. Saroori has urged the both the communities not to hurt the religious sentiments of each other and asking all the communities to come together and strengthen the cords of brotherhood, peace and harmony in the State besides urged administration to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival.

Demands of agitating Patwaris genuine: Saroori

Ongoing strike of Patwaris, people have suffered immensely due to the indifferent attitude adopted by the state government

KISHTWAR, JUNE 09: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today described the demands of agitating Patwaris as genuine and emphasized the state government to reach out to Patwaris to end the ongoing strike responsible for the difficulties confronting people due to their pen down strike.

Extending full support to their demands, Mr. Saroori sought resolution of the demands raised by them (Patwaris). He said that Congress Party while going through the pressing demands of Patwaris fully supports them (patwaris) and sought their resolution without any further loss of time, as that. It is ultimately the common people, who are suffering immensely due to the ongoing strike of Patwaris.

“Emphasizing the state government to address the issues of Patwaris like ban on direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, Enhancement of Allowances. Timely promotion of Patwari’s GQs and others demands raised by them, for the fact, these were the genuine demands deserving immediate redressal, so as to ensure the functioning of the department in the larger interests of common people”, Saroori said.

Congress Party understands that there was nothing wrong in the demands of patwaris, Mr. Saroori urged that state government must not discriminate with its employees, as that, the employees raising their genuine must be heard, besides effective mechanism be put in place in the departments to devise a strategy to address their genuine concerns, he added and said that due to the strike of Patwaris, people have suffered immensely, besides they (Patwaris) were also suffering due to the indifferent attitude adopted by the State Government. He demanded immediate redressal of their grievances.


Joint House Committee reviews working of Health institutions


SRINAGAR, JUNE 08: - The Joint House Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council constituted on alleged medical negligence of doctors in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu met here under the chairmanship of MLC, Ghulam Nabi Moga and discussed various issues regarding Committee's recent on the spot visit to GMC Jammu and its associated Hospitals.

Legislators, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Ali Mohammad Dar, Firdous Ahmad Tak and S Charanjeet Singh attended the meeting and gave their views to strengthen the functioning of the hospitals of the state.

The Committee discussed the measures to be taken to further improve the healthcare and infrastructural facilities in Government health institutions in the state so that the common people could be benefited.

The Committee opined that healthcare is the fundamental right of every citizen, for which the Government spends lot of funds, and authorities must ensure that best treatment is ensured to every needy. 

They further called that health authorities should be made more transparent and accountable to restore the confidence of patients and every effort should be made in this regard.

The Committee directed the Council Secretariat to obtain action taken report in respect of the directions passed during the recent visit of the Committee to Government Medical College Jammu, Super Speciality Hospital Jammu, SMGS Hospital Shalimar, Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu.

The Committee decided that to conduct on the spot visit/inspection of Lal Ded Hospital and G B Pant Children Hospital Srinagar on 29th, June 2018, SMHS Karan Nagar and Rainawari Hospital on 30th June, 2018 and to SKIMS and Bone & Joint hospital on 2nd July, 2018 respectively.

Secretary, Legislative Council, Abdul Majid Bhat, Deputy Secretary, Council, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, besides other senior officers and officials of Council Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
