Congress appeal for maintaining peace

Kishtwar, December 15: - Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has appealed to the people to maintain peace and tranquility.

Telephonically Saroori has talked with the DC Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan and directed him for an inquiry in the fire incident which took place early this morning at Hurna area of sub-Division Chatroo in which one temple and two houses were burned. The cause of fire incident is yet to be known.

Saroori said that culprit be identified and punished under law. I stand for unity and respect for all religions. I won’t let any vested interest to disturb the peaceful environs. I condemn any act which hurt my brethren.

Congress leader G. M Saroori further said that if any mischievous or prank has done by anyone it repercussions will be bad and people will think 100 times before harming any religious sentiments. He assured general public that strict action would be taken soon if anyone found in this mischievous act.

Meanwhile all the Congress leaders from sub-division Chatroo has strongly condemn the burning of Temple and two houses in Chatroo area of district Kishtwar and have demanded high level inquiry in this matter.

GMC Hospital Jammu in shambles condition; Government really needs to improve the sanitation system in the hospitals

 

Saroori visited GMC to enquires about the health of patients

JAMMU, DECEMBER 11: - Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Committee on Environment Chairman, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said it is not just medicines which heal the sick, but the environment too had a major role for the recovery of the patient but it is unfortunate that the city’s main government hospital GMC&H, where a number of patients come for the treatment is in a pathetic condition.

Mr. Saroori said Government Medical College & Hospital Jammu has failed to look after the sanitation of the hospital and associated institutions which are in shambles condition.

“Emergency Wing of the hospital caters to thousands of patients from across the state every day, but when it comes to the sanitation, there is lot to be desired. The bathrooms in the hospital are overflowing with sewage, and dirty water. The pipes are leaking, the faucets do not work, and toilets smell as is these have not been cleaned for years”, Saroori said in a press statement.

Mr. Saroori said that the institute needs to take a cue from its counterparts in the private sector as far as matters of cleanliness and hygiene are concerned or go over to a military hospital to find an example to emulate. Patients and their caretakers as such are facing tough time particularly in the Emergency ward of the Government Medical College & hospital due to poor maintenance of the toilets.
Saroori said government really needs to improve the hygienic conditions not only of GMC&H Jammu but other government hospitals in the state as well.

Environment Committee Chairman visited Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu to enquire about the health of various patients who are in brief illness or suffering from various diseases. Saroori was accompanied by the Doctors of the Hospital.

Saroori interacted with the patients attended at the Hospital and assured them all help. He asked the doctors about the status of the patients and instructed the Hospital authorities and Doctors to provide every required medical facility to the patients so that they do not feel any inconvenience. He also wished for early recovery of the patients.

Saroori chairs Environment Committee meet

JAMMU, DECEMBER 08: A meeting of the Committee on Environment was held today under the chairmanship of MLA Mr. G.M. Saroori. 

Legislators, Mtr Shamima Firdous, Mr. Daleep Singh, Mr. Dina Nath, Mr. Neelam Kumar Langeh, Mr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Mr. Mumtaz Ahmad, Mr, Deldan Namgail and Dr Gagan Bhagat were present in the meeting.

Detailed discussions were held on various schemes which are being executed by the Department with regard to environmental aspect.

The meeting was informed that the Rural Development Department has constructed 56654 Individual House hold Latrine (IHHL), which are eco friendly, during the current year under Swach Bharat Abhiyan.

Mr. Saroori asked the officers to ensure due care of environment while executing different developmental works in urban and rural areas. He also stressed for proper utilization of internet facilities at CSCs in far flung areas.

He asked the concerned officers to ensure cent percent progress under plan proposals for provision of 100 days work to the labours working under MGNREGA and ensure that Rural Development Plan be finalized within 15 days.

Secretary Rural Development, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Chairman Pollution Control Board, Mr. Abdul Razaq, Chief Wild Life Wardan, Mr. Deepak Khanna, Director Ecology and Environment besides senior officers of Rural Development Department and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.

Committee conducted tour of Baglihar Power House; listened grievances of labourers

RAMBAN, DECEMBER 07: The Environment Committee of the J&K Assembly completed inspection of various markets and bus stands including roads and hospitals in erstwhile Doda district.

The Committee was headed by MLA, Inderwal, G. M Saroori and comprised legislators Dr. Krishan Lal, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Neelam Langeh, Daleep Singh Parihar, Naresh Gupta, Gulzar Ahmed Wani and Sham Lal Bhagat.

While interacting with the staff at District Hospital Ramban, Sarooi advised them for using solid waste management techniques to dispose the medical wastes and not to throw them openly in the streets and drains where the possibility of contamination and infection arises. He further added that it is better to dig pits at some suitable places as per the guidelines for the proper storage and disposal of the sewages.

The committee also conducted tour of Baglihar Power House where the grievances of some labourers were listened patiently.

While briefing the labouers, Saroori said that Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly Committee on Environment extends support to the agitating workers of Baghliar Hydel project. He assured committees full support to their genuine demands.

Saroori also outlined some man-made causes of ecological disturbances and said that we should never show unsympathetic attitude towards the environment. He felt satisfaction over sanitation preparedness at Chanderkote and surrounding areas.  

Other who accompanied the committee were Additional Secretary, Health, Ashraf  Hakak, Additional Secretary, JKLA, Naseema Jan, Deputy Director, Urban Local bodies besides other senior officers.

Convened public redressal camp at Chamoti Bunjwah; dozen PDP activists joined Congress at Chamoti and Thathri

THATHRI, DECEMBER 05: - Giving a new landmark to the tourism travel trade of Thathri, Masoom tour and travel, a travel agency, was today inaugurated at main bazaar, Thathri in district Doda, here.

Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori inaugurated the agency at a simple but impressive function here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Saroori said that Jammu and Kashmir has a long history of Tourism. “We have hosted Buddhist conference about more than 2000 years ago, International Rafting Championship at Thathri, Conferences in Bhalessa and Bhaderwah areas that gives clear idea about the history of tourism in Kashmir as well as in Doda district belt,” he said.

“Tourism industry has a potential to provide employment to huge number of youth in the state provided we work with honesty and dedication,” Saroori added. He hailed the efforts of the Irshad Ahmed Butt and others the promoters of the agency for bringing such facility in Thathri area.

“I wish good luck to the management of Masoom tour and travel Thathri and request our tourism fraternity to give them full cooperation,” he said.

In order to reach out to the people, Later Saroori also convened a public grievances redressal camp at Chamoti area of Tehsil Bunjwah in district Kishtwar.

A large number of people from Duggu Mohallah, Gali Top, Dharsoo, Chamoti attended the camp and put forth their demands and problems being faced by them which include replacement of 25KV to 63KV transformers, MGNREGA payment, replacement of damaged water supply scheme, improvement and up gradation of various link roads of the area, filling of vacant posts in the school and early completion of development works.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saroori said that only Congress government can provide better and improved basic facilities to the general masses of the state. He said that his priority is to ensure improved basic facilities to the people of Inderwal constituency for that he will leave no stone un-turned.

Mr. Saroori said that he is well aware of the problems of the people and assured the people for the redressal of their genuine problems in a phased manner at the earliest. In this regard he also gave necessary instructions to the concerned officers present on the occasion and said that every possible step would be taken for the fulfillment of their demands.

In a significant development, dozens of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) activists joined Congress in Chamoti and Thathri areas in presence of Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.
