J&K Leaders, students hails decision taken by Union Health Minister who approves 3 PG specialties for Govt dental college & hospital, Srinagar.

JAMMU: Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has approved three more MDS Courses (Post Graduate Course) for the Government Dental College & Hospital, Srinagar. The new disciplines approved are Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, Oral Medicine & Radiology & Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge with two seats each from the academic session 2012-13.

The approval has been conveyed to the College authorities. The College authorities had earlier taken up the matter with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir and University of Kashmir. Affiliation by the University of Kashmir was accorded and the matter was taken up with the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Dental Council of India. The teams from Dental Council of India conducted various inspections were conducted and forwarded the recommendations to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare which were finally approved by Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Srinagar is already running two recognized Post Graduate Courses (MDS) with two seats annually in the speciality of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

The College is running another MDS Course in the speciality of Periodontics and the necessary approval from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has also been accorded to admit the next batch of students during the current academic year in the speciality of Periodontics. With this the total number of Intake capacity in various branches of Dentistry has increased from 6 to 12, giving more opportunities for the residents of State of Jammu & Kashmir to pursue their studies further who otherwise have very limited options to do the same outside the State. The authorities have accordingly taken-up the matter with the Board of Professional Entrance Examination to send the necessary list of students to be admitted against the above courses during the current academic year from the merit list which have already been issued.

Saroori conclude 5 days tour of Inderwal constituency.



Kishtwar: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori conclude 5 days extensive tour of Inderwal constituency.
While addressing a public gathering at Drabshallah area which consisted of 25 Panchayats, Saroori said that government is committed to ensure equitable development of all the areas of the State, adding that focused attention is being given to unattended areas. Priority of the Government is to provide basic amenities to the people besides improving the existing infrastructure in rural and hilly areas of the State, he said and added that peace is imperative for development and appealed to the people to extend their cooperation to the executing agencies in implementing development programmes. Special attention is being given to improve the education, power, health and road.

Referring to the problems of the locals, MLA directed the concerned authorities to address all the problems being faced by the people. He also stressed upon the PHE authorities to lay underground all over ground pipes of different PHE schemes as these all over ground laid pipes cause difficulties to the people besides freeze during winter season. He demanded that defunct T&D system of Power department be improved, at least two health centers be opened in each Halqa Panchayat and he demanded that on spot recruitment in police by authorities for the youths of area.

In view of day to day accidents in Erstwhile District Doda only SRTC buses be plied on all routes of District and others and he stressed upon the authorities to check the menace of overloading and also take steps to curb the traffic mess to avoid Road accidents. 

Saroori also distributed cheques amounting to Rs 10 lack among beneficiaries under centrally sponsored under IHLL, IAY and BRGF at Drabshallah.Officers of various departments accompanied the MLA.

Saroori tour Chingam, Sigdi, Thakrie listen grievances.

Independent candidate who contested 2008 Assembly election from Inderwal Constituency joins congress with his 500 supporters before Saroori.

Kishtwar: - Former Minister, MLA Inderwal G M Saroori Conducted the tour of Chingam, Sigdi, Thakrie area of Inderwal constituency. During his tour Saroori addressed workers and public meetings at several places and met many public delegations who apprised him of the difficulties being faced by them. They complained that most of Anganwari Centres are closed, there is shortage of teaching staff, un-scheduled cut of power has made public miserable, power distribution system is defunct, rotten wooden poles, plants and trees are used in place of poles, iron ire is used in place of conductor and shortage of medical staff etc.

People demanded that at least one JK Branch for Thakrie area, also road connectivity be ensured to every village and complained that construction work of road is at slow speed, needs to be speeded up. People at many places complained that midday meal is missed, people also demanded RET Teacher appointment orders and regularization of order who have completed five years of service, beriches Education Volunteers also be regularized as RET teachers.

Saroori gave a patient hearing to the people and assured them that he will take this issue with the concerned authorities and will try to solve these problems. He also directed concerned authority for mitigating the problems of the public. Expressing his concern over growing unemployment among the youth, he demanded a special police recruitment drive for the youth of this constituency to remove unemployment besides a comprehensive employment package of the unemployed youth.

Later Saroori distributed 6 lack IAYS cheque among beneficiaries.

People participation important for implementation of development schemes: Saroori




Inaugurated JK Bank Branch at Chatroo.
Kishtwar: - With the aim to reach out and redress the grievances of the poor people living in far flung areas of Chatroo at their doorsteps, Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M saroori today convened a Public Darbar at Chatroo, Dadpath and Mugal Maidan.

Sarpanches and panches of respective panchayats besides various other district and sectoral officers were also present in the Darbar. Saroori was given enthusiastic and rousing reception by the people of the area enroute to the venue of Darbar. Saroori was appreciated by the people on the occasion also for proactive redressal of their genuine problems. Various issues and demands were put forth by the representatives on the occasion which includes shortage of Doctors, construction of various other link roads, upgradation/augmentation of existing Water Supply schemes in these areas for adequate drinking water supply, implementation of agriculture, horticulture, sericulture and other developmental and beneficial schemes in the area on priority basis, providing of good quality timber in the forest sale depots at affordable rates, timely availability of ration, adequate transport facility from Chatroo-Mugal Maidan-Kishtwar, besides these various other issues also came up during the darbar.

Saroori gave patient hearing to the demands of the people on the occasion and issued on spot instructions to the concerned officers to mitigate their genuine demands. Saroori directed concerned officers to organize awareness camps in the area so that poor people get the benefits of various benefit and welfare schemes of the government. He also said that unemployed youth of the area can avail the benefits of various self employment schemes and establish their own income generating units. He also directed ARTO Kishtwar to deploy adequate transport facility and fix the passenger fares of Matadoor and other vehicles for the area so that the passengers could not be overcharged by any means.

“Administration at all levels should be responsive to public demands and work with zest and dedication to ensure that benefits of works percolate to the people,” he said and added that an effective mechanism to register peoples’ grievances at block, tehsil and district levels be put in place so that action is taken to redress the genuine grievances.

For improvement / development of Agriculture and other allied sectors in the area. Saroori asked the poor farming people of the region to use modern and advanced methods of farming , cultivate good variety/ high yielding crops for the upliftment of their socio-economic status and District as well.

Saroori distributed 5 lakhs relief cheques among the beneficiaries and also he inaugurated JK Bank branch at Chatroo which will benefit 20 thousand people.

Saroori hold public darbar and distributed cheques amounting Rs 10 lakh to IHLL beneficiaries.

Kishtwar, 21 March: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori hold a public Darbar at Bhatyas and Khara today in which more than 10 thousand people were present. On the occasion, the people put forth various demands and grievances which included compensation of land under the alignment of various roads, Plying of JKSRTC Buses on Thathri – Gondoh, Khara and Bhatyas, settlement of pending various work dondxze liabilities, allotment of funds and initiation of works under BRGF, timely availability of fertilizers.
While interacting Saroori said that the government is aware of the problem faced being by the people leaving in rural and far flung s of the state and especially instruction has been passed by Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to all concerned to ensure these all redressed within the shortest possible time. He said several welfare measure & schemes have already being put in place for Socio - Economic upliftment of people living in these areas.

Saroori assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into and steps would be taken by me for their early redressed for which he gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to take action. He also directed the officers to work strictly as per the norms laid down by the government.

Saroori also appealed to the people of the area to maintain their age old tradition of peace and normalcy which is imperative for carrying forward the developmental agenda and mitigating the problems. He also said that necessary directions have been issued to the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of work for timely completion. He asked the people of the area to avail maximum benefits from various schemes like NREGA, NRHM , BRGF and other schemes and enjoined upon the officers to implement these schemes in such a manner that their benefits reach to the deserving. He underlined the need of road connectivity for over all development of the area.

On increasing the frequency of bus service in the area, Saroori assured the people that route permits would be issued in a hassle free manner to the aspiring youth of the area for which unemployed youths were asked to come forward and avail the benefits of various self employment schemes under SKEWPY.

Jammu:- Many prominent and social workers of Block Dacchan Kishtwar led by Shri Mangat Ram Thakur Rtd Forester join Pardesh Congress Committee before Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori in presence of State Secretary Congress Thakur Jughal Bhandari, State Secretary Kishtwar Mushtaq Ahmed Hap and Senior Congress Leader Mahinder Singh Parihar.

Hails the decision of Azad for sanctioning 12 new hospital projects for JK .

Jammu:- In a joint statement MLA Inderwal G M Saroori, MLA Doda Abdul Majid Wani, MLA Bhaderwah Mohd Sharief Niaz, MLA Ramban Ashok Dogra, MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani, MLC Naresh Gupta, MLC Subash Gupta, MLC Jahangir Mir, MLC Jughal Kishore, MLC Ali Mohd Bhatt MLC Mohd Amin Butt, Former Minister Ch Garu Ram, Suman Bhagat, Haji Abdul Rashid, Haji Nissar, Youth Congress Leader Shariq Saroori, Sheikh Amir Rasool, Mehboob, Arif Maqbool, NSUI unit, various organization heads and people of Jammu and Kashmir hails the decision of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for sanctioning 12 Hospital for Jammu and Kashmir. These 12 hospitals will be built at the cost of 232 crores. Health Minister had release first installment of Rs 45 crores for this mega project in health sector. These projects will boost the health sector in our state.

The projects which have been sanctioned are District hospital at Samba, Pulwama and Bandipora. The Sub-District Hospitals are Akhnoor, Gundoh, R.S. Pura, Bishnah, Banihal, Kangan, Hajin, Pahalgam and Chanapora. Six newly sanctioned hospitals fall in Jammu division and six in Kashmir. It is expected that these hospital projects shall be completed within a period of two years and the balance funds for these projects shall be released on the receipt of Utilization Certificates from the State Government, in the next financial year.

They appeal to Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for opening of sub centres for unconnected areas after every 5 Km and for connected areas it should be opened after 10 Km in Jammu and Kashmir State as it was already announce by then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in 2007.

MLAS call upon Omar. 3 month free ration to Erstwhile District Doda.


Jammu,: - Erstwhile MLAS including MLA Inderwal G M Saroori, MLA Doda Abdul Majid Wani and MLA Bhaderwah Sajjad Kichloo met with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and requested him to provide 3 month free ration to people in Erstwhile District Doda. MLAS brief CM that in erstwhile Doda District where dry spell had caused 80 percent to 90 percent damage to crops.

MLAS said the government had earlier set up a Committee to undertake a survey of the affected areas that reported 80 percent to 85 percent damage to crops in the erstwhile Doda district. At some places, damage was reported to be up to 90 percent.

After patient hearing Omar Abdullah said government will provide free ration for three months under Centre Relief Funds 
(CRF) in which 24 crores was released immediately by Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla.

Saroori express his gratitude to GOI for according sanction to Sangpora-Viloo tunnel.

 Jammu March 9:- Former Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed his gratitude to Government of India for according sanction and funds for construction of Sangpora-Viloo tunnel in Chatroo area of Kishtwar District. With the construction of Sangpora-Viloo tunnel, twin Districts of Doda and Kishtwar will be connected with Kashmir valley almost throughout the year.

Mr. Saroori in a statement expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister of India Mr. Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Omar Abdullah and Union Health Minister Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad Sb for helping in sanctioning the tunnel. He said that Government of India under the leadership of PM Manmohan Singh is committed for over all development of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.


Saroori said that Singpora Viloo tunnel is considered as a life line for the people of Chenab valley since the 5 KM long tunnel not only connects Chenab valley with Srinagar, but also helps in improving the Scio-economic condition of the area which is considered as most backward area in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.


He said that the construction of the tunnel will benefit local people in many ways and will give employment to the locals and due to this tunnel length of Jammu to Srinagar via Kishtwar will be reduced to 100km. He said that with the construction of tunnel will also help to find a viable solution to the problem faced by the people of valley which mostly remains cut off from the rest of the world during winter session due presence of snow covers on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.


Saroori said that Government of India has sanctioned approximately Rs. 400 Cr at the initial stage and decided to hand over the construction work to GREF.
