Saroori greet Pranab on being elected Prez.

Srinagar: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to newly elected President Pranab Mukherjee. Saroori said that country’s democratic traditions will be strengthened with an experienced personality like Mukherjee becoming President of India.
 
He said that Mukherjee’s life is dedicated to value-based politics and dignity of parliamentary traditions during his five decade old political career. Known as ‘sankatmochan’ (troubleshooter), Mukherjee always remains ready to face challenges. Even in most difficult situations, he did not deviate from mutual dialogue and consensus.
 
Saroori hoped that under the guidance of Mukherjee Indian democracy will be strengthened and the country will carve out a distinct identity in the word.

Saroori hails Rahul Gandhi's decision to play greater role in party.

Srinagar: Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has welcomed Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's decision to play a greater role in the party and national affairs.
Rahul Gandhi had on Thursday formally announced that he would now play a more active role in the party and the government. "I will play a more active role in party and the government. The final decision is up to the Congress leadership," he said.
Though the decision of Gandhi has come late, he said he welcomed the step and said he wants the Congress party to contest general elections under his leadership and would like to see Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister after 2014 General Elections,” he said in a statement.
He said those who know Rahul closely will agree that his method of political governance is direct, transparent and thoroughly political and that he does not accept factionalism.

Saroori also praised Gandhi for his intellectual personality and as a 'magnet' for the nation's youth.

Saroori felicitated the people on the auspicious occasion of Ramadan.

Srinagar: Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has greeted the people on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan and hoped that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of sustained peace, amity, communal harmony, brotherhood, progress and prosperity in the State.


“This is the opportunity for the subjects of Allah to re-dedicate themselves as his true faithful by observing fast, offering prayers till late night, extending compassion and kindness to people and showing highest degree of tolerance not only in respect of eating food and drinking water but by renunciation of all activities leading to sin and harming humanity,” he said.


Extending good wishes to the people especially Muslims, Saroori expressed the hope that while seeking blessings of Almighty during the holy month they will also pray for the peace and development in the State.


Saroori stressed upon the divisional administration to ensure adequate supply of ration and kerosene and uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftiyar time.

Sopore: Assuring people of fulfilling all their genuine demands in phased manner, the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has said that Sopore constituency would be developed on modern lines for which a massive development plan has been formulated to improve the basic needs of the people.

The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a large attended public gathering at Dharpora Bumai in Sopore today.

Former Minister and MLA, G.M.Saroori, Senior congrees leader and former MLA Sopore, Haji Abdul Rasheed Dar, besides senior congress leaders S.Channi Singh, Narinder Sharma, Mir Mushtaq Ahmad and Shearwani were present and spoke on the occasion.

Deputy Chief Minister said that Centre is keen for development of Jammu and Kashmir State, adding the liberal funding helped State in completion and implementation of several big projects.

Tara Chand said State witnessed all round development during the tenure of Ghulan Nabi Azad as chief Minister of the state, adding that the formation of NC-Congress coalition was aimed to take forward the projects initiated by him. He said Centre has approved a number of projects under PHE, Power, R&B and Education and Health sectors, adding on completion of these projects the development scenario would get new flip.

Mr. Saroori while speaking on the occasion asked people to be foresighted and appreciating the efforts made by Haji Rasheed, as MLA Sopore, during his tenure for development of Sopore, said that Haji is still active for the developing the constituency on a modern lines. His efforts would not go water, said Mr. Sarooi, adding people need to differentiate between right and wrong. He said the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad was golden period in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, adding the developments and work culture during his period is worth to remember.


Haji Rasheed said that people of Sopore are very intelligent and know to differentiate between progress registered during present and past. “I always worked and shall work for the betterment of the people of Sopore” said Hajji, adding that people are the best judges. He said the projects approved for Sopore would change the economic status of the people.

S. Channi Sing said that Congress has an important role in the politics of the State. He said the prosperity of the people of the state is linked with prosperity of Congress and asked people to come forward and strengthen the base of party at gross root level.

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the works undertaken for the development of Sopore Town, particularly by housing department.
MLA, Sopore, Mohamamd Ashraf and Director Local Bodies besides senior officers of various departments were present on the occasion.

The Deputy Chief Minister asked officers speed up on all ongoing projects and ensure that all projects are completed in time. He asked officers to submit the utilization certificates so that more projects, awaiting UCs are cleared from the Centre.

The meeting was informed that a drainage project of Rs. 12 crore is under implementation, out of which Rs. 3.98 crore stands expended so far. It was given out that 107 kanal of land has been identified for construction of bus stand, a long pending demand of people of Sopore, apart from 75 kanal for disposing of solid waste.

Central University Jammu declares result for post Graduation courses.

Jammu: - Central university of Jammu has declared results of post graduate courses for the current academic year. The results have been displayed on its website www.cujammu.in. The candidates have been selected on the basis of entrance test held in June with 70 percent weight age and 30 percent weight age to aggregate marks obtained in the graduation. The students have been selected on composite score which is the combined score of entrance and graduation weight age).

Huma Tabasum daughter of Former Minister for Public Works Department Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Muhammad Saroori, has topped English and comparative literature with 43.009 composite score.

The topper in M.ED is Shafat Hussain Mir with a composite score of 68.31. In Computer Sciences Vanketshwar Raina has topped with 62.500 points.

In Environment Science Uqaib Ali Baba Wazir has topped with 67.45 points and in M.A and Msc Applied Mathematics Renu Devi has topped with 62.80 points.

In Economics Niketa Sharma has topped with 53.008 points. Nikita Goel has topped MBA Tourism and Travel Management with 57.936 points. Rahul Pareek has topped MBA Human Resource Management with 64.978 points.

The entrance of the university was held under Central Universities combined Entrance Test (CUCET) in June last month.

The university has for the first time offered admissions in eight courses which include Masters in Economics, English and comparative literature, M.ED, Environment Science, Computer Sciences, Applied Mathematics, MBA tourism and travel management and MBA Human Resource Management.

Kishtwar: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori completed his tour of Inderwal constituency. He traveled most of the hilly areas on foot. During his last day of tour to Inderwal Constituency he visited Sigdi area of Chatroo he addressed many public meetings and took cognizance of the people’s grievances.

During his tour to Sigdi area of Chatroo, a hard core National Conference worker Ghulam Nabi Bandhay with his supporters joins Congress in front of MLA Inderwal G M Saroori. New Entrant in Congress party while speaking on the occasion, said that they were impressed with the working of Mr Saroori and said they will jointly work hard to strengthen the hands of Mr Saroori in Chatroo area.
Saroori inspected Sigdi-Bhata road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) estimated cost is 16 Crore and Length of the road is 14km which is constructed in a record time period in just 4 month by Contractor Piyaray Lal Sharma. Saroori, General public, PMGSY Department appreciated Piyaray Lal Sharma. 

He met many public delegations, individuals and addressed many public meetings during his tour. While speaking on the occasion, he said that the Coalition Government is committed to provide connectivity to every nook and corner of the State especially in hilly areas, so that the basic amenities could be made available to the people at their door steps.

Saroori said Panchs and Sarpanchs should work in coordination with line departments so that the benefits of the state and center sponsored schemes reach the people. He appealed the people to choose their representative responsible as sound leadership is important for the welfare and development of the people. He said that he will raise the issue of additional funds for underdeveloped constituencies for the development of isolated and far off areas with the higher authority. He also said Panches and Sarpanches are empowered to ensure the development of their respective areas, adding they are also entrusted with the responsibility to make the people aware of various schemes for improving their socioeconomic status. He appealed the farmers to come forward and avail credit benefits through Kissan Credit Card schemes.

The people on meeting him highlighted their demands and day-to-day problems pertaining to Education, Roads, Power and Water supply, Sanitary conditions etc. The MLA not only gave patient hearing to their problems but also assured them to solve them within a shortest span of time.

Saroori, Kichloo call on DG BRO.

Kishtwar: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori along with MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo had a meeting with Director General Border Road Organization (Govt of India) on his visit to Kishtwar. During the course of meeting Mr Saroori apprised DG BRO about the importance of Singhpur-Vailo Tunnel which will shortest alternate By Pass to NH1A from Batote to Srinagar and also facilitate smooth passage of Amarnath Yatra which will be without sliding sinking zone and the same will remain open trough out the year. It will also give impetus to tourism industry of the state as it will be vital link in Tourism Circuit comprising of Lakhanpur, Bani, Basoli, Chatergala, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Chatroo and Kashmir Valley. 

Saroori also urged the DG BRO that Road from Watser to Synthan Top a stretch of 25 Km may be completed at an earliest by GREF itself by engaging local laborers. He also discussed the issue of dilapidated condition of Thathri to Kishtwar Road. He also demanded construction of Bypass road from Drabshalla to Thakraie. He also discussed Realignment of Thathri and Premnagar Bazar and also construction of Kishtwar to Paddar, Paddar to Sansari and Sansari to Himachal Road.

Kichloo raised the issue of construction of By Pass Road in kishtwar city keeping in view the heavy traffic and usual Traffic Jams. He also raised the issue of speedy work on the widening of Kishtwar Paddar Road and release of compensation to land owners well in time.

The Director General of BRO gave patient hearing to both the MLAs. He assured both the MLAs that the desired issues will be given priority and the construction of Chatroo Singhpura Vailoo tunnel will be taken up soon after getting feasibility report. He assured that all the pending DPRs of this District in Ministry of surface Transport will cleared and the action initiated on priority. Saroori tour Mugalmaidan interacts with people.

Kishtwar: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori made an extensive tour of Loidhar, Khujgam, Dhar, Gwari villages to take stock of the problems faced by the people living in these backward and remote areas of Chatroo Tehsil and addressed a series of public meetings during the tour.

People from various sections of society met Saroori and apprised him about day to day problems faced by them due to lack of basic facilities like drinking water, electricity, health care, road connectivity, educational infrastructure in the area.
People also informed Saroori that dozens of houses besides hundreds of kanals of land has been damaged due to construction of road by RandB and PMGSY and no compensation has been paid to the effected families so far. People also complained that Job cards under MGNREGS have not been issued to the villagers in spite of their repeated requests to the concerned department. People also put forth several demands which include opening of Primary Health Centre in Gwari, up gradation of high school Khujgam. He also inspected Mugalmaidan-Loidhar road which Roads and Building Department is constructing. Saroori directed concern authority to complete this project on time period.

Saroori while addressing rally at Loidhar said area like Chasan, Gwari, Dhar will be electrified under RGVK scheme very soon on top priority. On the occasion Ghulam Nabi Dar Halqa President BJP joins congress in front of Mr Saroori.

Congress condole S D Rohmetra who passes away today at AIIMS.

Kishtwar: - A condolence meeting was held at Kishtwar under the Chairmanship of Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori in which several Congress leaders including State General Secretary Congress Thakur Jughal Bhandari , General Secretary Congress Kishtwar Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Senior Congress leader Mohinder Singh Parihar, Sarfraz Khan, Asgar Khangi, Tarik Mintoo, Altaf Malik, District President Congress Seva Dal Kishtwar Ravi Kumar, Block President Congress Abdul Subhan Kichloo, Sarpanches Satish Kumar, Haji Ghulam Qadir, Piyaray Lal Sharma, Santosh Kumar, Hukum Chand, Mohd Iqbal Keen, Akhtar Tatani, Mohd Ramzan, Captain Jagdish Raj, Karam Chand, Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Shafi Saroori, President IYC Inderwal Mohammad Latief Mughal (Rashid), NSUI State General Secretary Waseem Sajjad, District President NSUI Kishtwar Saqib Lone, College President Siddique Aftab and other prominent Leader participated. 

They expressed grief over the demise S D Rohmetra who founded Daily Excelsior Newspaper in 1965 passes away today at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Saroori conveyed his sympathies with the bereaved family. A two minutes silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul. They prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Kishtwar: - The Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori have expressed sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Muneer Hussain, KAS Officer, who passed away on June 29, 2012.

In a condolence message, Mr. Saroori has said, that Government has lost a dedicated officer. While expressing his sympathies with the father of the Late Officer, Mr. Akbar Din and his family, he prayed for the external peace to the departed soul. 
 
Death toll in the car crash during the Mughal Road rally Ashis Mahajan and Jitander Shukla. Mahajan had suffered grievous internal injuries in the crash at Sinthan in Anantnag district and passed away this morning. Jitender Shukla, the driver of the vehicle, was killed on the spot on the last leg of the Mughal Road rally when their vehicle rolled into a deep gorge at Sinthan.
Expressing his condolences with the bereaved family, Saroori said that this indeed was an irreparable loss in the sporting history of Jammu and Kashmir State.

He prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage for bereaved family to bear this loss of young boy who wanted to prove his mettle in adventure sports, Jammu and Kashmir state being mountainous region and having ample of adventure tourism related spots had always been attracting youth but never in the history such an untoward incident had ever happened, he added.

Saroori hoped that in future the participants would be asked to spend some time in practice and knowing technical debriefs before jumping in to fray to their safety.

Kishtwar: - Former Minister & MLA Inderwal G M Saroori visited Phigsoo, Kalthava, KhanPura and Cheera area of Inderwal Constituency and has asked the district administration to accelerate the development activities and boost the tourism industry in his constituency.

Addressing a mammoth gathering at Kalthava area in Inderwal on the occasion large number of NC and PDP Party workers including Abdul Karim, Mirza Khan, Mohammad Israeil, Irshad Ahmed, Mohammad Ashraf, Niaz Ahmed, Anitullah Butt, Shabir Ahmed and many others enter into Congress party fold in presence of Saroori, he said that more and more people are joining the party for its secular and development oriented policies under the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Welcoming the new entrants to the party, Saroori said that people have seen through the evil designs of those trying to divide the society in the name of religion and regions and are coming forward to embrace the secular Congress party.

These new entrants in the Congress party said that they have been impressed by the secular and democratic policies and hard working for development of constituency who brought revolution in the developmental field. They said that they shall work day and night to strengthen the hands of Mr Saroori.

During his visit people demanded improvement of existing T&D systems and regular power supply avoiding unprecedented power cuts and improvement of defunct water supply schemes , opening of new health sub centers , PHCs , new primary schools, Aanganwari centers, registration of ration cards according to the population of 2011 census registration of deserving BPL families , Land structure and orchard compensation whose land has been acquired by government, up-gradation of primary , middle and high schools. Regularization of PHE daily wagers and release of their about one year pending wages, completion of ongoing schemes of all departments , supply of fertilizers , seeds and pesticides in time.

Saroori also addressed many public meetings, met public delegation, Individuals in the said area and Inspected Thatri Chadanu road. During this tour he gave patient hearing to public and assured them that he will try to solve their problems.
