Kishtwar: - Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori along
with MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo had a meeting with Director General Border
Road Organization (Govt of India) on his visit to Kishtwar. During the course
of meeting Mr Saroori apprised DG BRO about the importance of Singhpur-Vailo
Tunnel which will shortest alternate By Pass to NH1A from Batote to Srinagar
and also facilitate smooth passage of Amarnath Yatra which will be without
sliding sinking zone and the same will remain open trough out the year. It will
also give impetus to tourism industry of the state as it will be vital link in
Tourism Circuit comprising of Lakhanpur, Bani, Basoli, Chatergala, Bhaderwah,
Kishtwar, Chatroo and Kashmir Valley.
Saroori also urged the DG BRO that Road from Watser to Synthan Top a
stretch of 25 Km may be completed at an earliest by GREF itself by engaging
local laborers. He also discussed the issue of dilapidated condition of Thathri
to Kishtwar Road. He also demanded construction of Bypass road from Drabshalla
to Thakraie. He also discussed Realignment of Thathri and Premnagar Bazar and
also construction of Kishtwar to Paddar, Paddar to Sansari and Sansari to
Himachal Road.
Kichloo raised the issue of construction of By Pass Road in kishtwar city
keeping in view the heavy traffic and usual Traffic Jams. He also raised the
issue of speedy work on the widening of Kishtwar Paddar Road and release of
compensation to land owners well in time.
The Director General of BRO gave patient hearing to both the MLAs. He
assured both the MLAs that the desired issues will be given priority and the
construction of Chatroo Singhpura Vailoo tunnel will be taken up soon after
getting feasibility report. He assured that all the pending DPRs of this
District in Ministry of surface Transport will cleared and the action initiated
