Saroori lays foundation stone of Panchayat Ghar at Loie Dhar.


Over 58 people join in Congress fold in Inderwal Constituency.

Saroori supported Panthers party demand of delimitation and reorganization of state.

KISHTWAR, 29 June: - Indian National Congress (INC) believes in supremacy of the people and is committed to empower Basic Democratic Panchayati Raj Institutions, said Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori.

While addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stone of Panchayat Ghar at village Loie Dhar in district Kishtwar, Saroori termed infrastructure development in Panchayats as the first step towards their empowerment. The Panchayat Ghar will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 30 lakhs under MGNREGA in convergence with Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF).

He lauded the role of Panchayat representatives in plan formation and BDO Kishtwar Masood Ahmed, BDO Chatroo Seema Parihar, BDO Drabshalla Shokat Hayat Mattoo and BDO Thathri Tahir Malik was directed to ensure people participation in plan formation and its implementation in later stages.

Saroori inspected various developmental works under MGNREGA and termed it as the life line of people living in such remote places. He also held a public Darbar in Mugal Maidan, Loie Dhar, Khaj Gam, Guwari, Rahal Thal area involving two most neglected Panchayats Loie Dhar A and Rahal Thal and listened to the grievances of public and immediately reacted to their needs and demands.

People also lauded MLA Inderwal G M Saroori for sanctioning water shed for Panchayat Rahal Thal.

On the occasion over 58 prominent joined congress included Ramesh Kumar Bhagat, Roshan Lal, Kunj Lal, Vinod Kumar, Ramesh Dhar, Ram Lal, Babu Ram, Mohan Lal, Om Prakash, Mohammad Iqbal, Farooq Khandey, Abdul Majeed Khan Khajgam, Ghulam Rasheed, Ghulam Mohammad, Ghulam Ali, Sham Lal, Puro Nath, Prem Nath, Kailash Chander, Roshan Lal, Nand Lal, Vidya Lal, Abdul Subhan, Gul Mohammad, Sharief Khandey and others.

Welcoming them to the party Saroori said, "I am happy that several people from Loie Dhar, who built the NC, BJP, and PDP brick by brick, has joined Congress party today."

Newly joined workers said "We have trusted the NC, PDP and BJP all these years but now our hopes have been shattered" beside we have full faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ambica Soni and G M Saroori,".

Late last night Saroori took everyone by surprise after he meet with Panthers party leaders sitting on 3days Dharna outside DC office Kishtwar in support of the demand of delimitation and reorganization of state. Saroori who meet the Panthers party state secretary Anil Parihar and other party leaders extended his support to their cause and termed the demand of delimitation and reorganization of state as genuine one.

While reacting to the Panthers party allegations, Saroori informed them, that Congress party is committed towards the agenda and promises made by them to the public during 2008 elections but 2/3rd majority required to pass the bill in the Assembly. He assured them that whenever Congress will get 2/3rd majority in the assembly Congress will pass this bill on priority.

He termed Coalition compulsion as major hindrance in implementation of 73rd and 74th amendment in panchayat law and also fulfilling the commitment of delimitation.

Meanwhile Panthers Party yesterday marks the end of 72hours long dharna.

Prominent among those who accompanied Saroori during the tour were Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Piyaray Lal Sharma, Mohammad Iqbal Keen, Bashir Ahmed Malik, Tariq Wani, Fakir Chand, Noor Din, Abdul Majid Wani, Ghulam Qadir Khajgam, Fida Hussain, Ibrahim Sheikh, Sikandar Malik, Abdul Subhan Malik, Mehraj Din, people in large number, and officers from various line Departments.
