Saroori demanded salaries for the teachers

Jammu, April 01: - An inquiry has been ordered into the alleged fraudulent drawl of freight charges worth Rs 25 lakh for carriage of ration items to private depots in Kishtwar district of the state, Jammu and Kashmir government today said.


The Assistant Director CA&PD (Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution) department Kishtwar has been directed to conduct the detailed enquiry into the alleged fraudulent drawl of freight charges worth Rs 25 lakh for carriage of ration items to private sales depots at Thakrie (Pakalan) in Inderwal constituency, Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs Zulfikar Choudhary said in a written reply to a question of Congress member G M Saroori in Assembly.


He said the report of Assistant Director is still awaited.


Saroori on the floor of the assembly has demanded salaries for the teachers appointed under the centrally sponsored schemes–SSA and RAMSA.


He said due to the negligence of education and planning departments the teachers are without their salaries from last seven months, which has not only made the lives of these teachers miserable but has affected the normal academics at schools, as well.


Saroori said though the teachers have been making regular representations to the concerned authorities, but their appeals have not been able to yield the desired results, so for. He demanded immediate release of salaries.


He further demanded that staff for new administrative units created in Inderwal constituencies and a provision to increases IAY cases to 20 no per panchayat, timely formation of plans for all the schemes, enhancement of BRGF funding for rural areas.


Saroori demanded early completion of incomplete panchayat ghars in the state as 1788 Panchayat Ghars had taken in hand by the previous government besides enhancement of funds under CD and panchayats and implementation of sanction programme in all panchayats.
