Visited the residence of Abdul Majid Wani to personally condole the demise of his mother


Kishtwar, June 10: - Aiming to strengthen the party before the Municipality elections in the state, on Wednesday Congress dissolved committees in the district and block levels of Kishtwar with immediate effect.


The decision was taken in a meeting held in Kishtwar which was chaired by Jammu and Kashmir Pardesh Congress Committee Chief Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir.


Prominent among those Vice President JKPCC, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Gulzar Ahmed Wani (MLA), Thakur Balbir Singh (Ex-MLA), MLC Naresh Gupta, MLC Sham Lal Bhagat, Ashok Dogra (Ex-MLA), Anayatullah Rather and others were present.


While addressing the party workers, Mir said that DCC and BCC would be reconstituted after the completion of membership drive in the district. He said that a new committee would be formed through an electoral process within a month time. Till the reconstitution work is completed, the district in-charge of membership campaign will take care of the party’s day to day work.


Mir said that there is need to reconstitute the committees because the performance of many of its office-bearers was below expectation. Party leaders who have performed well will be recalled in the reconstituted committees.


He stressed upon all the workers to take active part in the membership drive in order to strengthen the party at grass root level. He also expressed that only dedicated, honest and hard workers be elected in the Congress committees either at PCC, districts or block levels.


Mir expressed satisfaction that people in every nook and corner of the State are coming forward to join the Party for overall development of the State and the people. “Congress Party is duty bound to serve the people and work for their well being”, he said. The PCC Chief exhorted the party to workers to move ahead with membership drive and make it a big success.


He also warned his party cadres not to indulge in indiscipline or face his wrath. He urged all the leaders, workers to remain united in the interest of the party and in future, if anyone found involved in antiparty activities be expelled from the basic membership of the party. He also said that indiscipline in any case will not be tolerated.


"Mir told the workers to work unitedly and prepare for the Municipality polls. He asked party workers to further strengthen the party at the grassroot level. "Rahul Gandhi aims to strengthen the party," he said.


PCC Chief, G. A. Mir and Vice President, G. M. Saroori has also addressed the Congress workers meeting here at Thathri and has cautioned the people against the communal and divisive forces in the state. Mir and Saroori asked the party workers to carry forward the historical role of the Congress party as a unifying force to defeat the nefarious agenda of such forces.


Later the Congress leaders visited the residence of Former Minister Abdul Majid Wani-General Secretary PCC.General Secretary PCC Mr. Abdul Majid Wani to personally condole the demise of his mother Mtr. Zaina Begum who passed away few days ago.


The leaders stayed with the bereaved family and expressed their sympathy and solidarity with Wani family, offered fatiyah, consoled the family members and prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed soul beside a place for her in heaven.


PCC leaders also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.
