Saroori took stock of Kishtwar-Sinthan road, met with GREF officials at SInthan top

Called upon CM J&K, Transport Minister

Srinagar/Kishtwar, June 07: - The prestigious Kishtwar-Sinthan National highway has been made opened today for vehicular moment by Vice President J&K PCC Mr. G. M. Saroori-MLA Inderwal.

Saroori took stock of road from Sinthan to Kishtwar and met with GREF Officials here at Sinthan top and directed them to use quality material, improve the quality of work and maintain the road surface as having potholes mainly from Aloo farm to Sinthan top in a time bond manner.

He has also appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to visit the Sinthan area which will boost the tourism in the area. “Increase in tourist traffic will resuscitate the economy of poor people of the area as it is the only source of income for them and also the beauty of Sinthan will be highlighted in a positive way.

Saroori has also directed officials of Kishtwar development authority (KDA) to make all the restaurants from Mugalmaidan to Sinthan Top functional and provide best service to the tourists.

Earlier Saroori called upon Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here at summer capital Srinagar and has discussed various developmental issues regarding the district Kishtwar and Doda.

Saroori has pressed for early release of funds amounting to two crores for the completion of Chatroo Tourist Spot and for development of Sinthan area. Chief Minister J&K who is also holding the Tourism department has assured Saroori that fund for the completion of Tourism avenues will be release soon and has assured all possible help.

He have also thanked Chief Minister J&K Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Minister for Roads and Building department Syeed Altaf Bukhari for transferring the Kishtwar Sinthan road to GREF. The GREF is having man and machinery, funds for the construction and maintenance of this road.

Saroori said Roads and building department failed in opening and maintenance of prestigious Kishtwar- Sinthan road in time and failed in absorbing 1300 labourers who were into darkness as the R&B department has refused absorb GREF laborers in the department while at the same time despite the fact that many among these poor laborers were working with the organization for over 20 years. But now after handing over the said road from R&B to GREF again, all the labourers will be absorbed again.

Saroori also met with Minister for Transport Abdul Ghani Kohli and Commissioner Secretary Transport and has demanded a special SRTC bus to be ply from Kishtwar to Srinagar via Sinthan and back to Kishtwar. The minister has assured the MLA Inderwal that within three days time the bus will ply on the route.
