DC, Saroori flags off Hajj pilgrims from Kishtwar




Interacted with the pilgrims at Thathri and Batote

Kishtwar, August 26: - District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori day before yesterday flagged off 9 Hajj pilgrims of the district to Srinagar for onward pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Mecca and Medina.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Sandeep Wazir, ASP Abdul Qayoom, Tehsildar Kishtwar Irshad Ahmed Butt, Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo, Dy SP Touseef Reshi, SHO Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani, Senior Advocate Ghulam Mohd Waza besides other police and civil officers connected with Hajj-2016 and large numbers of people were present to see off the pilgrims from Kishtwar.

A total of 9 Hajjis from the District including 04 from Tehsil Drabshalla, 05 from Kishtwar left for holy journey from Islamia Faridia Institute of Research & Education Kishtwar.

Addressing the pilgrims, the DC Kishtwar congratulated the pilgrims for getting the opportunity to perform holy Hajj. He also wished them safe and secure pilgrimage. He appealed the Hajj pilgrims to pray for the development and prosperity of the district and state as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Saroori who will also perform the Hajj this year has urged other pilgrims to pray to Allah for peace and prosperity of the state. He along with DC Kishtwar was giving a send-off to the Hajj pilgrims from Kishtwar to Srinagar, by flagging off the mini car carrying the pilgrims at the Islamia Faridia Education and Research Institution Kishtwar.

Saroori said having the opportunity to make Hajj, for a Muslim, is the dream of a lifetime and said whoever performs Hajj and does not commit any obscenity or transgression shall return [free from sins] as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him.” Saroori also met with other 8 Hajj Pilgrims in the ground area.

In his address Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar also briefed the pilgrims about the itinerary proramme of 7 pilgrims from Kishtwar to Srinagar and 2 pilgrims from Kishtwar to Jammu.

Later Saroori also reached Thathri where 06 from Thathri and 12 from Gandoh left for Srinagar via Ramban for onward pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Medina. While interacting with the pilgrims, at Kishtwar, Thathri and Batote, Saroori wished them well-being, success and smooth conduct of Haj-e-Baitullah. “He also asked them to pray to Allah for peace and progress of the state as well as safeguarding us against the vagaries of weather. The pilgrims shook hands with him and reciprocated his good wishes besides showered him with prayers.”
