G. M Saroori returned from Saudi Arabia


Met people at Thathri and Kishtwar

Thathri/Kishtwar, October 08: - Hundreds of people today received the Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori who returned from Saudi Arabia after performing the annual Haj pilgrimage at Thathri and Kishtwar here.

People welcomed and congratulated Mr. Saroori on his smooth performance of ‘Arkan-e-Hajj’ during the holy pilgrimage.

While speaking on the occasion Saroori said more than 1 million people from 165 different countries performed Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the Islamic religious pilgrimage. It was a huge event — in terms of both its significance in Islam and the massive logistical challenge of having that many people from all walks of life and every corner of the globe descend on one relatively small place all at once but in all manners Saudi government did appreciable job.

Saroori also narrated few Quranic versus and urged people to perform the Hajj that is the most important pillar in Islam.

On the current situation in Kashmir valley Saroori termed as “grim“. There has been huge loss of life and property because of the inability of the government to respond,”. He said the loss of precious lives and injuries to thousands as highly condemn able and sought clarity from the State government and PM Narendra Modi over the use of force and brutality on protestors by the forces, resulting in to causalities of around 85 civilians besides leaving thousands injured, the people feel that forces are out to kill innocents which is the cause of growing anger among them (people) across the valley.

At Thathri Dak Bungalow people also highlighted their issues and demanded non-payment of MGNREGA wages, staff in High school Nanda, better drinking water facilities in far flung areas of sub-division Thathri, non-adulterate of flour, staff in Trauma centre Thathri and other health centres and early construction of Thathri inner circular road, better facilities in Dak Bungalow. Telephonically Saroori discussed the issues with the DDC Doda for early redressal of the general public issues.
