Saroori apprised the meeting on several public related issues


Expressed concern related to poor funding in different sectors

JAMMU, February 24: - To assess sector-wise physical and financial progress besides taking stock of implementation of decisions taken in previous Board meetings, Member of Legislative Assembly from from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori riases various public demands related to Inderwal constituency falling under the jurisdiction of Doda district.

Minister for Social Welfare, ARI Trainings and Science & Technology, Sajad Gani Lone chaired the District Development Board (DDB) review meeting of district Doda here.

Saroori apprised the meeting on several issues especially release of compensation for on going schemes under state sector, district sector or NABARD including Goila Trankhle, Gugara Zig to Jai Kahara, Bhatyas to Jakyas, circular road Kahara, Bhatyas to Challar, Hanoo link road and Madrassa Bhatyas road, functioning of administrative units recommended by Ganaie Commission, utilisation of funds which are sanctioned under RGGVY phase II and Deen Dayal schemes from which all habitats of Doda district will get electricity and people will get sigh of relief, release of funds under NRWDP for completion of on going water supply schemes, opening of fire service station at Thathri, Kahara and Gandoh which is the need of the hour, filling of the vacant [posts of Tehsildar Kahara, Chilly Pingal, Gandoh, shifting of sale centre from Jakyas to ST Basti Drought Kahra, early repairment of damaged school during recent heavy rainfall in the area including High school Kahara and stressed to Education department for early start of work on Dagroon High school, early clearance of work done in R&B, PMGSY, JKPCC, MGNREGA, IHHL, Swatch Bharat liabilities, distribution of high density plants including Apple, Wallnut for Thathri, Phagsoo, Kahara, Jakyas, Bhalessa, Premnagar area,  and compensation to recent fire victims of Thathri, Kahara, and Bhalessa.

Legislator from Inderwal also expressed his concerns related to poor funding in different sectors, delay in development works of roads, schools, construction of GMC Doda, Construction on TRC Thathri, bus stand, posting of headmasters, principle, shortage of staff in schools, Early start of work Kandi Canal, early clearance of landslides on National highway, early replacement of damaged transformers for uninterrupted electricity supply besides constituency specific requirements, development of infrastructure at tourist sites.

Responding to the issues raised by the legislator, the Minister assured him that these will be redressed in a time bound manner.

Congress leaders condoles demises of Khatoona Begum, Riyaza Begum, Mushtaq Ahmed and Sheyr Din Tantray


Jammu, February 24: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Former Ministers Mohammed Sharief Niaz, Former MLA Doda, Abdul Majid Wani, MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, Ghulam Mustafa Azad, Aslam Goni and Sheikh Mujeeb today expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demises of Khatoona Begum daughter of Abdul Qayoom resident of Chinyas Bhalessa, Riyaza Begum wife of Ghulam Nabi resident of Tatani Saroor, Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh resident of Hudri Kishtwar and Sheyr Din Tantray son of Jabbar Din resident of Nagni Kahara.

Paying rich tributes, the Congress leaders described the deceased’s as noble personalities who vociferously raised issues of social importance.

Conveying condolences to the bereaved families, Congress leaders prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and expressed solidarity with the families in his hour of grief to bear the irreparable loss besides this place for them in heaven.

MLA Inderwal rued non implementation of DDB decisions, called for transparency in Developmental works, office functioning

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 23: - Former R&B Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Muhammad Saroori rued non implementation of decisions taken during District Development Board (DDB) meetings and demanded transparency while execution of developmental works.

Saroori while raising various issues in Kishtwar DDB meeting held at Jammu on Tuesday called for accelerating pace of the ongoing water supply schemes for its earliest completion. He said that the prestigious Naigad WSS is the lifeline for the people of Kishtwar which needs to be completed within the specific time limit in a transparency manner. He said that out of 32 KMs pipe line, the work on only 12 KMs has been completed while 20 KMs work is still pending and demanded that same needs to be expedited for speedy completion.

He also raised the issue of Rs. 88 lakh Sigdi Foot suspension bridge in Chatroo and called on the government to work towards vacation of court stay so that the work on this bridge could be started at an earliest. He also raised the issue of early restoration of construction on Rs. 144 lakh Circular road near Helipad Chatroo which was damaged due to flashflood in September 2014.

Saroori demanded that high density plants of Apple, walnut may be provided to the farmers of Chatroo, Kishtwar and Bunjwah, in which only 1000 no. of plants were distributed among farmers in Chatroo. He also demanded early sanction for Rs. 25.37 lakh Rajmah village in Inderwal constituency as the file for sanctioning is pending in Director Agriculture Jammu office. He further demanded that Sheep and Animal husbandry centers should be opened in Inderwal, beside highlighted the need to exploit the potential in Kishtwar to grown high quality Saffron to which a DPR to the tune of Rs. 713.27 lakh also stands submitted to Director Agriculture Jammu for approval.

He shows his displeasure that most of the important projects in his constituency were held up due to non availability of land compensation and delay in releasing of compensation of various schemes. He said that PMGSY roads phase I scheme which have been completed are in bad and dilapidated conditions including that of roads from Drabshallah-Bugrana, Bunjwah, Tatani Saroor, Sigdi, Batwari, Tagood, Durbeel, Maliknar, Deller, Passerkote, Kuchal, Challar, Cheera and other roads. He demanded that it required additional funds for maintenance of these roads. So that road to be maintained and people of the said areas won’t face any hardship.

Saroori further said that BDS post (Dental Surgeon) be created at PHCs level added that due to huge rush of pilgrimage at Sarthal Devi Ji, there is urgent need of posting of Doctor at NTPHC Sarthal and other PHCs including Chatroo, Rahalthal Mugalmaidan, Patnazi Bunjwah, Thathri, Jakyas and Chingam. He also called for early settlement of court case on posting of BMO Kishtwar. He also demanded for early clearance of MGNREGA, Swatch Barat, IHHL liabilities pending for the last two financial years and improvement in electricity in far flung areas including Singpora, Sigdi, Chatroo, Kuchal, Passerkote, Keshwan, Thakrie, Sarthal, Drabshalla, Saroor, Thathri, Phagsoo, Kahara, Jakyas, Bhatyas areas.

He lauded PMGSY department for completion of construction of 50 KM road length in Chatroo division which is highest in district Kishtwar till date. He also raised the issue of blacktopping of Sarthal road, early completion of Dunadi Bunjwah, Kuriya Keshwan roads under JKPCC to which work on WBM grade I, II and III to be started departmentally, early construction of building for making Alopathic Dispensary functional at Passerkote Chatroo.

MLA Inderwal also sought directions from the Chairman to the concerned authorities to focus on speedy completion of projects under road, health, education, PDD, horticulture, agriculture, rural development, which are closely linked with the common man. He sought immediate filling up of vacant posts of teachers, lecturers, doctors and para-medics in the Inderwal; saying that the public is suffering due to large number of vacancies. He also raised the other public related issues and urged the administration to attend these issues on priority. On the issue of failure of CEO Kishtwar Development Authority in streamlining the functioning of the authority and his failure to carry forward the developmental works falling under his control and command, Chairman DDB Kishtwar Bali Baghat ordered for attachment of CEO KDA with immediate effect.

Congress condemns use of brutal force on Congress workers in Gandoh, demanded action against erring Police officials

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 19: Taking strong note of police brutality on Congress party workers, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and MLA from Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today condemned the police action and use of brutal force on peaceful Congress protesters in the Gandoh area of Doda district who were holding peaceful protest against the mob over its failure in filling up of various posts including that of Tehsildar Gondoh, beside fast tracking of registration of AADHAAR cards.

In a press statement issued here today, MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that police action speaks in volume that PDP-BJP government has fail in providing the basis facilities to the people added that the police action is amid to muzzle the voices of the common people and showing intolerance to dissent. He said that same does not augur well for democracy.

Saroori termed Police action as an assault on democracy added that the Police resorted to use of uncalled and m an unprovoked assault on the peaceful Congress workers who were highlighting miseries of people in the area and demanded appropriate action against the partial role of few police personals including local SHO for abuse of power. He said that in case the government fails to initiate action against the erring officials involved behind this incident, Congress party will start mass protest against the government in the area.

He also urged upon DGP Dr. S P Vaid to personally look into the matter and termed the incident as an attempt to destabilize peace and tranquility in the area which is witnessing peace since last several years despite the fact that state was burning over various issues. He hope that government as well as Senior officials will look into the issues and concern showed by the people and called for immediate filling of all the vacant posts in the area including that of Tehsildar post.

G. M Saroori visited GMC; enquires about well being of patients


JAMMU, FEBRUARY 17: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today visited Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital here to enquire about the health of various patients including Riyaza Begum from Tatani Saroor, Qasim Din from Balgran, Shagufta Banoo from Hiloor Tatani, Mohd Irfan from Lass Saroor and Mohd Salman from Cherhar Kishtwar.

Saroori interacted with the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital and assured them all help. He asked the doctors about the status of the patients and was also briefed by the doctors about the treatment being extended to the person undergoing treatment. He instructed the Hospital authorities and Doctors to provide every required medical facility to the patient so that they do not feel any inconvenience.

Congress lawmaker also wished for early recovery of the patient.

Demonetisation decision was not in favour of the country: Saroori



An unkept promise is just like corruption; BJP promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh then party should at least have deposited Rs 5 lakh or Rs 2 lakh in every account

Uttar Pradesh, February 16: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Vice President and AICC Speaker, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that Congress- Samajwadi coalition was all set to form the next Government by winning over 250 seats in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Addressed series of election meetings in support of Congress candidates, Saroori claimed that a wave was flowing in favour of the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance across the state.

Saroori said Congress is committed to overall development of the state and appealed people to work for strengthening the party in the best interest of the people of the state. He urged the people to remain vigilant against the machinations of the parties like BJP, RSS, RLD and BSP, the main agenda of which is to polarise the situation and benefit from division in the society and frustrate their designs while maintaining age old tradition of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony. He said their main plank during the ensuing elections will be to divide the masses.

While interacting with the people at numerous villages, Saroori said that “Congress and SP are the only parties which have initiated tremendous development works in all spheres in the state. Attacking the BJP government over demonetisation, he said the decision was not in the favour of the country and the people will take revenge by defeating BJP in the polls.

Saroori did not miss the opportunity to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Modi had promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh is every account. He has failed to do so. If not Rs 15 lakh, then he should at least have deposited Rs 5 lakh or Rs 2 lakh in every account,” said the SP leader. An unkept promise is just like corruption, he said.

Congress state Vice President expressed confidence that the Congress and Samajwadi Party would form the coalition government in the state as it had done maximum development work. He made a fervent appeal to electorates of UP to ensue victory of Congress-SP Candidates with a thumping majority, for the fact, it is only the Congress SP alliance, which stands guarantee to progress and development of UP.

Senior Congress leaders from J&K Chowdhary Akram and Balbir Singh also addressed the series of public gatherings said an alliance of BSP, Congress and Samajwadi Party would have wiped out BJP from Uttar Pradesh. However, they asked people not to waste their vote on BSP as, he claimed, the party will join hands with BJP after the elections.

SAHARANPUR, FEBRUARY 12: - All India Congress Committee Speaker and Vice President JKPCC, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that Congress led UPA Government has ensured better development in the Uttar Pradesh State during their tenure and people should support Congress-SP candidates in Uttar Pradesh whose contribution in the State is exceptional.

While addressing the public gatherings in various areas of Saharanpur district; Saroori said that only Congress-SP can ensure better development in the State and Congress is committed for peace and development and this is the only agenda of the alliance.

Saroori reminded people that Congress led UPA Government has funded the State in big way by improving road, health, education, tourism infrastructure in the State in last five to 10 years. He said that Congress has rich and vast history of serving the nation and it has taken several revolutionary steps for the welfare of the people. Differentiating between the Congress and the BJP, RSS, Saroori said that BJP and RSS have the agenda of flaring up the communal tension and misleading the people on the name of religion, caste and creed which disintegrate the society. He cautioned the people to remain vigilant against these communal parties which weaken the social fabric of pluralistic society of the state.

Cautioning the people against the propaganda unleashed by the disruptive force like BJP, RSS against the Congress and SP, Saroori said that the unscrupulous force appear at a particular season (during election) and try to spread false rumours and made an appeal to the people of Saharanpur district not to give an ear to rumours.

The Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, has expressed sympathy towards the affected families and instructed the divisional & district administration to provide immediate help and support to all those affected due the devastating blaze.

Congress leaders express grief over Suhgwari Karara road accident

Doda, February 11: - Indian National Congress leaders today expressed extreme grief and sorrow over loss of innocent lives on Batote-Thathri road accident on Saturday.

In a joint statement by Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Vice President JKPCC Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, General Secretary Abdul Majid Wani, MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, Executive member Mohammed Sharief Niaz, congress leaders including Sheikh Mujeeb, Aslam Goni, Asgar Hussain Khangi, Mohd Iqbal, Sarfraz Khan and Shahnawaz Gattuu have expressed grief over the loss of lives in a tragic road accident in Suhgwari Karara area of Doda district.

In their condolence message, Congress leaders have conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved families. They expressed deep concern and dismay over the recurring loss of lives from sustained road accidents in Chenab Valley. In this context, Congress leaders recalled the important discussions held in Assembly, in various meetings and house committee recommendations that need to be implemented on ground but unfortunately the reports and recommendations submitted by me before government is gathering dust.

The repeated road accidents in Doda, Kistwar, Ramban and Udhampur districts, Congress leaders said, must be a grave concern for the state government. “It is a situation which demands immediate measures and attention of all of us especially the officers of transport, traffic police and Border Roads Organisation to put forward their departmental specific assignment of the causes responsible for causing accidents in these hilly districts,” they added.

The Congress leaders hoped that the officers of various departments shall urgently enforce the strictest possible measures to reduce the incidence of tragic accidents.

Saroori express grief over tragic incident at Devigol Patnazi

Urged state government to provide Rs. 10 lakhs ex-gratia relief to the family members

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 07: - PCC Vice President and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of life in a tragic incident at Devigol in Village Patnazi of Tehsil Bunjwah in Kishtwar District in which one 11 year old minor boy Mohammad Yaseen got killed while four other family members had a miraculous escape when a Deodar tree fall on the house of one Noor Maie Kohli after heavy rainfall and wind storm hit the area on Sunday.

Conveying his sympathies to the bereaved family, Saroori has prayed Almighty Allah for granting solace to the departed soul and courage to the family of the deceased to bear with the loss. He has also urged the State Government to provide Rs. 10 lakhs adequate ex-gratia relief to the family members of the 11 year old minor boy.

It is to mention here that a heavy Deodar tree fell on a mud house of a Gujjar, Noor Maie Kohli while they were in deep sleep as a result of while five of the family members trapped badly inside damage muddy house.

G. M Saroori condoles demise of Azad’s brother in law





JAMMU, FEBRUARY 05: - Senior Congress leader Ghulam Mohammad Saroori (MLA Inderwal) today condoled the sad demise of Ghulam Hussain’s brother in law of Former Chief Minister J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad who passed away today at Jammu after brief illness. He was laid to rest at Gujjar Nagar Jammu today (Sunday) at 5:30PM.

Vice President JKPCC, G. M. Saroori, several other Congress leaders, besides hundreds of people from all walks of life from Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Doda, Jammu, Srinagar and other parts of the State attended Nimaz-e-Jianaza of the departed soul.

In a condolence message; Saroori remembered the departed soul as a noble man who lived a pious life. He expressed his solidarity and has conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed soul beside place in heaven.

He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.

Saroori also visited the residence of late Ghulam Hussain where he met with other relatives to personally condole the sad demise. He stayed with the bereaved family and expressed his sympathy and solidarity with them, offered fatiyah, consoled the family members and prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed soul.

NC, Congress stage sit-in outside JK CM Secretariat amid anti-BJP slogans

JAMMU, JANUARY 31 - After the House was adjourned for a day, entire opposition staged sit-in outside the Chief Minister Secretariat here amid anti-BJP slogans.

National Conference and Congress MLAs protested outside the Chief Minister Secretariat shouting slogans ‘RSS sarkar hai hai’, ‘BJP sarkar hai hai,’ ‘Bajrangi sarkar hai hai.’

The protesting MLAs were demanding chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to reply on her statement asserting that anybody raising issue of abrogation will be anti-national. She said in her speech on Monday during grants of her department.

One of the BJP MLAs Rajiv Jasrotia raised the issue in the House demanding expunge of word ‘anti-nationals’ and BJP is not anti-national.

The Speaker also adjourned the House for sometime twice but third time for a day as opposition disrupted the House proceedings.

The protesting MLAs said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat should issue statement whether they are anti-nationals or not. ‘Nagpur sarkar’, ‘Jumla sarkar’, ‘match fixing sarkar’, hai hai, shouted the MLAs.

They said that Speaker for the first time in the history expunged the words of chief minister, who is also Leader of the House. “We want chief minister to clear her stand and straight way should go to Governor’s House and offer her resignation,” they added.

‘Jo 370 se takrayega, khoon ki nadiyaan bahengi,’ shouted the MLAs. They also held a march amid hullabaloo in the Secretariat premises.

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 01: - Vice President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has condoled the demises of Ruksana Begum Wife of Ex. Sarpanch Noor Mohd resident of Wanipura Phagsoo, Bashir Ahmed Harga son of Jamaal Din resident of Goila Kahara and Ailyas Tanveer Bhaderwahi. 

In his condolence message to bereaved families, the MLA Inderwal expressed sympathies with the bereaved families recalling the philanthropic and compassionate traits of the deceased’s.

Saroori has prayed Almighty Allah for granting solace to the departed souls and courage to the families of the deceased’s to bear with the loss.
