t to form the next Government by winning over 250 seats in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Addressed series of election meetings in support of Congress candidates, Saroori claimed that a wave was flowing in favour of the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance across the state.
Saroori said Congress is committed to overall development of the state and appealed people to work for strengthening the party in the best interest of the people of the state. He urged the people to remain vigilant against the machinations of the parties like BJP, RSS, RLD and BSP, the main agenda of which is to polarise the situation and benefit from division in the society and frustrate their designs while maintaining age old tradition of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony. He said their main plank during the ensuing elections will be to divide the masses.
While interacting with the people at numerous villages, Saroori said that “Congress and SP are the only parties which have initiated tremendous development works in all spheres in the state. Attacking the BJP government over demonetisation, he said the decision was not in the favour of the country and the people will take revenge by defeating BJP in the polls.
Saroori did not miss the opportunity to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Modi had promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh is every account. He has failed to do so. If not Rs 15 lakh, then he should at least have deposited Rs 5 lakh or Rs 2 lakh in every account,” said the SP leader. An unkept promise is just like corruption, he said.
Congress state Vice President expressed confidence that the Congress and Samajwadi Party would form the coalition government in the state as it had done maximum development work. He made a fervent appeal to electorates of UP to ensue victory of Congress-SP Candidates with a thumping majority, for the fact, it is only the Congress SP alliance, which stands guarantee to progress and development of UP.
Senior Congress leaders from J&K Chowdhary Akram and Balbir Singh also addressed the series of public gatherings said an alliance of BSP, Congress and Samajwadi Party would have wiped out BJP from Uttar Pradesh. However, they asked people not to waste their vote on BSP as, he claimed, the party will join hands with BJP after the elections.
