People hail Saroori for creation of new administrative units in Inderwal

Kishtwar, October 17: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that the creation of new administrative units in the Inderwal constituency is a step towards empowering people of far flung areas by providing them easy accessibility to the administration.

Saroori was interacting with a deputation of people from Thakrie and Sarthal of district Kishtwar, who called on him here today at his residence Kishtwar to express their gratitude for strongly pursing the cause of granting new administrative units, including three tehsils and two CD Blocks to various areas of the District.

They stressed on the need of completing all the incomplete projects of the district which mainly include road projects for expediting the socio- economic development of these pockets.

Saroori termed the approval of the Cabinet to the expert committee led by Khurshid Ahmed Ganai on creation of new administrative units in the State as a historical decision and said that the decision would be written in golden words in the history of State. He said that the creation of new administrative unit would go a long way in mitigating the problems of the people at the grass-root level, besides accelerating tempo of development in these areas.

He said that the Expert committee adopted a rational approach while creating new administrative units to ensure that justice is done to the people. The people in every nook and corner of the Inderwal constituency would get governance at their door steps by virtue of this decision, Saroori maintained.

Saroori said that for the last 12 years, the people of the area have witnessed a golden era of development projects which includes network of road, Degree Colleges, two Sub Divisions at Chatroo, Thathri, schools, 50 bedded hospital at Thathri beside 10 bedded hospitals at Bunjwah & Chatroo, electricity to almost 85% villages and large number of water supply projects. He also informed that various other projects are in pipeline and shall be taken up in the due course of time.

Jubilant masses at Sarthal, Thakrie, Kontwara areas organized rallies and raised slogans in favour of Saroori and expressed their thanks to the G. M. Saroori for sanctioning Tehsils status for Thakrie Sarthal and Pingal. CD Block for Sarthal and Kontwara.

Sharik Ahmed Saroori has also hailed the efforts of MLA Inderwal G. M. Saroori, for doing justice with all areas of Inderwal constituency in creation of new Administrative Units.

Kishtwar, October 17: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Friday observed that the educational institutions are granaries where future leaders of society are nurtured to shoulder the responsibilities of nation building in varied fields of human endeavour.

Saroori, as Chief Guest, was addressing the Annual Day Function of the Adarsh Bal Niketan High School Kishtwar here today sought better synergy and frequent interaction between teachers and parents for achieving the common objective of shaping the destiny of children and making them useful citizens for the society. “Without active cooperation of parents, the schools cannot succeed in moulding the younger generation in a better way”, Saroori said and stressed the need for periodical meetings to take appraisal of the progress achieved.

Describing the Annual Day Function as an important event for every educational institution, Saroori observed that it is an occasion for the management to look back at its achievements and failures in the year past and identify measures required for bringing about improvements in the future; it is an occasion of joyous celebration for the students who successfully complete their studies and also for their proud parents.

Saroori described Bal Niketan School as a historical institution which has produced students who have made a mark in varied arenas. He said that School is doing its best in nurturing the talent of the student and various special programmes being organized by the school deserve appreciation.

He also spoke high of the management of the school for extending all basic facilities to the students in the field of teaching and learning process. He congratulated the Principal, Roshan Lal Sen, the School Management, teachers, staff, students and their parents on the Annual Day Function of the institution.

Saroori also interacted with the students of the school and wished them a bright future ahead. Roshan Lal Sen, Principal of the School, presented a memento to the MLA Inderwal.

Earlier, on arrival at the Annual Day Function, Saroori was received by the Principal, management, teachers, staff, children and their parents. The function commenced with lighting of the traditional lamp by the Saroori, Principle and Executive members of the School.

Meanwhile Head of the management of ABN High School Kishtwar Romesh Chander Sen expressed his thanks to Mr. Saroori for spearing his value able time to attend today’s function. Principal of the School, Roshan Lal Sen in his welcome address, gave details of the endeavours made by this institution in imparting quality education to the children.

Ceasefire violation across LOC is unfortunate: Saroori



Construct community halls for providing temporary shelter to the affected people in flood affected areas

Jammu, October 16: - Senior Congress leader J&K and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Thursday said that ceasefire violation across Line of Control (LOC) is happening quite frequently and it is unfortunate.

Saroori accused the central government of "failing" to respond adequately to ceasefire violations by Pakistan and also for making false promises in terms of relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir from frequent firings on border.

He said that Congress party is concerned by reports of shelling across LOC and said that “many of our Jawans, civilians, villagers and even animals are being killed daily by heavy mortar shelling and firing from across the international border and Line of Control in Jammu and Poonch sectors and over 100 ceasefire violations on LOC had taken place since BJP came to power.”

Saroori urged the state and central governments to make an immediate decision to redress the long pending demand of border residents. He further demanded that the ex-gratia relief should be provided to the affected people immediately, besides free and best medical treatment to the border firing people.

“Construct community halls in flood-ravaged areas in Jammu and Kashmir for providing temporary shelter to the affected people which Ghulam Nabi Azad as Union Urban Development Minister has constructed in earthquake hit areas in 2005”, Saroori demanded and added that Government should start the construction on these community halls at an earliest so that before the onset of winter flood-survivors can concentrate on reconstruction of their houses and it will help to save the people from winter chill, cold bites and deaths.

Saroori also stressed upon the Government to speed up the rehabilitation work of flood affected people in the state and complete it in a time bound manner so that Assembly Elections are held at earliest here without any inordinate delay. While expressing his serious concern over the fact that present Central Government is not seriously tackling the situation in the J&K as was done by the UPA Government during 2005 earthquake in Tangmarg, Uri and also flood hit in Ladakh.

Congress leaders including G. M. Saroori, Janak Raj Gupta, B. R. Kundal, Yogesh Sawhney, Subash Gupta, Gulzar Qureshi, Rakesh Gupta, S. S. Salathia, Darshan Lal Raina, P. R. Manhas, Anil Chopra, and 100’s of people received Ghulam Nabi Azad at Jammu airport who today visited Samba area for distributing relief among the border victims.

They have thanked Ghulam Nabi Azad for taking keen interest in helping the border victims and also for touring the badly affected border areas to see the ground situation personally.

Congress party has also urged upon the governments to take immediate necessary steps for providing every kind of relief to the dislocated people in Jammu and Poonch areas which are mostly hit by ceasefire violation.

Kishtwar, October 15: - Reiterating that Indian National Congress (INC) was committed to satiate the political and economic aspirations of all segments of society, Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today urged people to come forward and play their crucial role in decision making at the grass roots level.

Saroori who was addressing in an impressive function here at his residence Kishtwar where 60 no of workers of BJP, PDP and NC joined Congress party, said BJP, PDP should play a constructive role of opposition and should not play vote bank politics by raising divisive slogans. “The unity of people of Jammu & Kashmir is un-compromiseable and parties like BJP, PDP and NC will not be allowed to disturb the communal amity and traditional brotherhood in the state”.

He expressed hope that newly joined worker would work with enthusiasm and energy to give fillip to the policy programme of the Congress.

Saroori also assured the people of Thakrie that the status of Tehsil will be given to the area shortly as he himself has met with the expert committee constituted by state government and has submitted the memorandum for giving the status of Tehsil to Thakrie area and CD block to Sarthal area. He further said he will leave no stone unturned for redressal of their genuine demands.

“New Entrants attributed their joining into Congress to the miserable attitude of BJP, PDP and NC towards public concerns adding that the parties are only in search of occasions to ignite tension between various sections of the society by exploiting their sentiments on one or the other pretext”, they said and added that the lucidity and truthfulness in the politics of Congress and the dynamism of G. N. Azad and G. M. Saroori to seek equitable development, peace and prosperity for the area, has made them to join Congress and work for the welfare of people of erstwhile Doda district.

They further said that the track record of G M Saroori in Inderwal during the past twelve years stands testimony to the fact that MLA Inderwal is desirous of all round development in all the areas of Inderwal constituency.

Saroori visits Khara Bhalessa; hold public grievance redressal camp




Khara, October 13: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori visited Khara area and held a public grievance redressal camp at Khara Bhalessa area of district Doda.

Tehsildar Khara Majid Jahangir, all other sectoral officers, a large number of people of adjoining villages including Congress local leaders, Panches and Sarpanches, Youth Congress members participated in the meeting.

They apprised the MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori of various problems being faced by them. They highlighted the problems related to drinking water, better medical facilities, facilities regarding Veterinary Services, early black top on Khara-Jai road, the shortage of teaching staff in schools, shortage of Doctors and non-payment of MGNREGA wages.

Saroori while listening to the problems of people sought detailed clarifications and action plan from the concerning officers to mitigate the grieviences of the people. He asked them to take immediate steps to meet out their demands. He exhorted on better coordination between people and administration for the progress of these remote areas.

Other speakers listed the steps taken by Mr. Saroori during the last 12 years for the area beside highlighted the Congress vision for development, peace and prosperity in the state. They asked the people not to fall prey to the forces who are adment to divide people on caste, community and regional lines to meet their political ends.

Thakrie (Kishtwar) October 13: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed deep grief over the demise of 28 year old Parvez Ahmed son of Azad Hussain resident of Mangthala Thakrie in Kishtwar District.

Saroori expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, conveyed his sympathy. Parvez Ahmed was missing after he left the home for going to meet his sister living in nearby village for extending Eid greetings. Local people started a search operation in nearby area and found his dead body lying on rock bed on the bank of river Chenab from Kuntwara area some 25 KM from Kishtwar. As per report, the deceased fall from a hill cliff enroute to the home of his sister and died on the spot.

His Namaz-e-janaza was offered at Mangthala Thakrie, which was attended by hundreds of people including Congress MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and several local congress leaders.

Saroori also participated in the funeral prayers of Mother of Congress sarpanch from Bugrana Zahid Hussain and expressed their solidarity with the braved family. She was 70 year old, passed away at her ancestral village Bugrana Tehsil Drabbshallah.

He also visited the residence of Mohammad Rafiq resident of Bathri area of Bhalessa where he condole the sad demise of his mother and also his brother who died recently in an accident. He stayed with the bereaved families, consoled them, offered fateh and expressed his sorrow over the sad demises of the head of the families. He prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased’s to bear irreparable loss.

Mother of Congress Sarpanch Bugrana Zahid Hussain passes away

Bugrana (Drabshallah), October 06: - Mother of Congress sarpanch from Bugrana Zahid Hussain, passed away at her ancestral village Bugrana Tehsil Drabbshallah. She was 70.

Saroori has expressed deep grief over the demise of mother of Zahid Hussain expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.


Her Nimaz-e-Jinaza was offered at Bugrana, which was attended by hundreds of people including Congress MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and several local congress leaders.


Saroori participated in the Nimaz-i-Jenaza of the deceased. He visited the house of the Zahid Hussain stayed with the bereaved family, consoled them, offered fateh and expressed his sorrow over the sad demise of the head of the family.
