Saroori appeals people not to get provoked, maintain calm.

Kishtwar - A meeting of Sarpanches, Panches, Social and Political Workers met here at Chatroo Thursday under the chairmanship of Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori, has condemned the production and telecast of blasphemous film on Holy Prophet (SAW) describing it an attempt to hurt the sentiments of people and disturb international peace and détente.

“From the Satanic Verses till the said film, all were criminal act, the US and Israel had been encouraging the blasphemy activities instead of containing it”. They noted that the blasphemous material about Islam, Holy Qur'an, or Holy Prophet (P) hosted on internet, depicting in cartoons or written in novels, is a highly condemnable act.

Underlining that any blasphemous activity against any religion, religious books, places or religious icons is against humanity, they further noted that Islam does not allow deriding other religions. “No one should be allowed to disgrace religion on the pretext of freedom of expression,” they maintained in a meeting.

Deploring the silence of western countries against the blasphemy acts, they termed it a “criminal negligence” which was equally against the concept of freedom. They warned that Muslims will not allow these powers to humiliate them in the name of freedom of expression. Because it was not the matter of freedom of expression but it was the freedom of hurting sentiments of Muslim world.

They urged the peace loving people of the country and around the globe to voiced the concern and pressurize the elements engaged to stop the blasphemy activities before it became too-late. They further observed that the fringe elements behind this anti-Islamic blasphemous work possess only motive to wedge apart different sections of the society and create hatred. “People should see through the designs of such elements and remain calm while expressing their anger”. We share the feelings and grief of the people and condemn the act vehemently”, they said and appealed people to maintain calm and not to get provoked as the people behind this anti-social and anti-human act want to disturb peace and create disturbance.
