BJP responsible for disturbed socio political scenario in JK: Saroori

PATNAZI, DECEMBER 06 – Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today regretted that the present regime PDP-BJP has reversed the process of peace and balanced development in the State.

Addressing two impressive public meetings at Naga and Burdhar in Patnazi area of Tehsil Bunjwah, Saroori reminded the gathering that during the Congress regime in the state and centre a comprehensive policy was devised for the overall development of backward areas and special attention was paid to the neglected areas like Bunjwah, Burdhar, Kither, Patnazi, Patshalla, Dunadi and other areas. He said that not only neglected areas were brought on the developmental maps but a sense of security was also restored among the inhabitants of such areas.

“After 2014, there is total chaos and confusion in the State and the common masses are gripped with fear psychosis”, Saroori said and adding, “those who are at the helm of the affairs after 2014 had deliberately created an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear only to accomplish their nefarious designs”.

Saroori reminded that UPA government had pioneered and implemented peace and reconciliatory policies which yielded very encouraging results all over the State. Reiterating resolve of Congress party to establish a new system of justice and equality in the State, Saroori said that the party has scripted a new chapter of development in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad and has changed political discourage of State through its conviction and commitment.

He said J&K has lost its identity because of the unholy alliance between PDP-BJP and BJP are responsible for the “disturbed socio political scenario” in the state due to controversial statement by BJP leaders regarding J&K and for Muslim peoples. “People have reposed faith in the electoral process, but the PDP-BJP dispensation has disappointed them,” Saroori said.

Responding to the demands of the locals, Saroori reminded that it was during the Congress regime long pending demand of the people of Bunjwah of Tehsil status, block office, NT Office, school at Patnazi, Kither, Naga, Suranga, Ikhwa, Rs. 5 crores watershed projects, violable road communications from Patnazi to Kither, & others was fulfilled. “During our regime NREGA was sanctioned which is the only source of income for far flung areas”, he said and added that new initiates were taken during that period to improve infrastructure in all sectors including health, education and road connectivity. BDO Bunjwah Ratan Paul, ZEO Drabshalla Bhagwan Das, Officials from RDD, PHE, Education including Majid Hussain, Viqar Ahmed, Raminder, Aashiq Hussain, Abdul Latief, Mohd Ali, Sandeep, Zahid Hussain, Abdul Kareem and others accompanied Mr. Saroori during the tour.

Mohd Iqbal Keen, Chowdhary Mohd Shafi, Haji Ghulam Mohd, Zakir Hussain Keen, Molvi Hasham, Mohd Yusuf, Qasam Din, Mohd Haneef, Mohd Hussain and others also addressed the gathering and said that the present govt had completely failed to address the basic problems faced by the people. "We all know that it has been their (RSS) dream to divide the State on the basis of religion, region and language," said Congress leaders and added that disgruntled elements are hell bent upon to harm the communal harmony and age-old tradition of unity and brotherhood in the State. "The present coalition has 'miserably failed to stop this polarization' and has brought the State on the verge of disintegration due to its wrong policies. The present Government was expected to deliver but unfortunately they are encouraging the atmosphere of drift and intolerance in the State. Efforts are being made to bring different communities at loggerheads," Congress leaders said while tearing into the Mufti-led coalition Government.

Earlier a large number of BJP workers from Patnazi in Inderwal constituency joined the party in presence of G. M Saroori. A function was organized at Patnazi to welcome them into the party fold.

Welcoming the new entrants, Saroori said their joining the party would further strengthen the Congress party and said "It is high time to further spread message of the party in every village and hamlet of Jammu and Kashmir particularly erstwhile district Doda," he said and asserted that policies and programmes of the party were formulated by incorporating wishes of every section of the society.

A party statement here identified the people who joined the party including Mohd Shafi, Abdul Rehman Bisawali, Chowdhary Shafi, Mohd Ismaeil, Hasham Din, Mohd Yaseen, Shamas Din, Mohd Shafi, Haji Sain, Mohd Yaqoob, Mushtaq Ahmed Kumar, and others joined the Congress on the occasion,” the statement mentioned.
