State government adopting “anti-farmer” policies: Saroori

Conducted an extensive tour of Nali Bunjwah

NALI (BUNJWAH), DECEMBER 07 – Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Wednesday termed PDP-BJP coalition government “apathetic and incompetent”, charging the ruling parties with indulging in “juvenile pranks” and neglecting the people and their problems.

Addressing a public meeting of Dramni Nali area in Tehsil Bunjwah, Saroori said that state government failed to provide people with the basic amenities and infrastructure required for catering to their daily problems and woes like electricity and supply of drinking water and adding that Govt. had failed to fulfil its basic responsibilities and their claims of solving the problems of the people had fallen flat.

Seeking to remind PDP-BJP of their duties in providing basic amenities to the people, Saroori asked the government to focus on the problems of water, electricity and health care, besides providing rations to the people in time.

Saroori accused the PDP-BJP government in the state of adopting “anti-farmer” policies which led to their woes. He said that the present centre and state governments promised farmers that the support price of their yields will be increased by 50% and the same is also incorporated in their election manifesto. He said that the BJP government has come to power and more than two years have elapsed but they didn’t fulfil their promises.

“Despite the announcement made by the State Govt of waiver on 50% Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans, in the Budget Session last year, the department has, however, so far given no such waiver, “Saroori added. He said that the State Govt had last year said that to provide immediate relief to the farming community, the Government had announced waiver of 50% KCC loans in case of small and vulnerable farmers in view of the crop loss suffered by them due to floods. However, the officials in the Department said that no such benefit has been provided to the farmers so far.

Saroori also assured that special camps for capturing the Biometric of the left out population will be soon organized in the Block and informed that an NPR Aadhar Moblie van with all facilities to capture the biometrics, on the spot, will also be soon flagged off for this purpose. “MGNREGA liability for the work done in block Bunjwah will soon be cleared as the state government will release the funds to ACD Kishtwar for this purpose within a week time,” said Mr Saroori while responding to the queries of the people.

On deplorable condition of Dunadi Bunjwah road, Saroori said Rs. 1.28 crores tender was issued by the JKPCC department in the month of August this year which include widening of the road on the left over stretches, filling, shingling, metling and walling as per the requirement. But unfortunately not a single contractor participated in this tender. Again the department will issue the tenders soon, hope this time few contractors may submit the tender on this important project. So that road surface will be maintained and people of Bunjwah won’t face any hardship in this regard. Saroori said blacktopping will be done only after the metling, shingling work will be completed.

Later Saroori also held a meeting with 8RR Army officers in Bunjwah besides this conducted surprise inspection of Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Nali Bunjwah.
