G. M Saroori greet people on Eid Milad-Un-Nabi

KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 30: - State Congress Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and expressed sincere hope that this auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of harmony, peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

In a greetings message issued here today, the PCC Vice President G. M Saroori said that the Birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) provides us opportunity to pray and seek forgiveness and blessings from the Almighty for the entire mankind. “Let the day be harbinger of peace and development for the State and the Country”, Saroori prayed.

Saroori said that Islam teaches us the values of brotherhood, simplicity, compassion and morality, all of which need to be vigorously inculcated in today’s trouble torn world. On the occasion, Saroori prayed for the well-being and happiness of the people of the State.

Shariq Saroori inaugurates the final match of Star Cup Cricket tournament at Bunjwah




Extra-curricular activities imperative for the overall development of the persons

BUNJWAH, NOVEMBER 29: - Senior Youth Congress leader from Inderwal, Shariq Ahmed Saroori inaugurated the final match of Star Cup Cricket tournament at Bunjwah area of Kishtwar district, the cricket match was played between Friends Liyan and Royal Kewa.

Senior Congress leader from Bunjwah Farooq Ahmed Want, Naresh Kumar, Satish Kumar, Mohd Amin, Yugraj, Ghulam Qadir besides huge gathering of locals were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Guest while interacted with the players exhorted upon them for strict adherence to sports rules.

Speaking on the occasion, Shariq Saroori said extra-curricular activities are imperative for the overall development of persons. He urged the players to work hard for achieving better performance in sports activities, as these events provides much needed platform for exhibiting their talent.

Saroori said that the Bunjwah has no dearth of talent, but needs to be explored in a bigger way. He appreciated these cricketers for showing great cricketing skills and conveyed good wishes to all the participating teams for their future.

He further said that due to the efforts of MLA Inderwal, G. M Saroori that road from Dunadi to Bunjwah from 1st to 13th kms has been handed over from JKPCC to R&B department for completion of the said vital roads and in this regard Rs. 15 lakhs tenders has been issued by the R&B for removing of the landslides and laying of shingling in Kewa area and assured the general public that within next two years of time whole Dunadi Bunjwah road will be blacktopped.

Guest of honor, Farooq Ahmed Want while speaking on the occasion thanked all the participating teams, who came here from different areas of Bunjwah and Bhalessa to participate in the Tournament and also appreciated the efforts of management committee, for organising such a tournament and hoped that such activities would continue in future.

In the final match, Friends Liyan won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Friends Liyan scored 141 runs in 16 over’s game, which was chased by the Royal Kewa Cricket Club in the 14th over’s and thrashed Friends Liyan cricket team with 4 wickets.

For Royal Kewa Gulzar Ahmed top scored with 47 runs off 31 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes, Mukesh Kumar with 45 runs. Gulzar Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers who bagged 3 important wickets, while Joginder Singh, Imtiyaz Ahmed Peter Singh took 2 wickets each from Friends liyan team and Mushtaq Ahmed, Aashiq Hussain, Mohd Abdullah, Shabir Ahmed also took 2 wickets each from Royal Kewa. The match was officiated by Shah Din and Imtiyaz Ahmed. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Jaffer Saleem, Sanjan Kumar.

Later Mr. Shariq Saroori along with Farooq Ahmed Want, Mohd Amin, Abdul Kabir Keen, Dr. Shamasdin, Yugraj, Tariq Hussain and others visited the residence of Abdullah Keen to personally condole the demise of Rafiqa Begum Wife of Abdullah Keen resident of Jawalapur. The Congress leaders expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and have prayed Almighty for granting solace to the departed soul and courage to the family of the deceased to bear with the loss.

G. M Saroori condoles demise of Haji Ghulam Mohammad Malik and Fatta Begum


KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 28: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has condoled the death of Haji Ghulam Mohammad Malik resident of Damber Chatroo and Fatta Begum widow of Late Sadar Din Keen resident of Patnazi Bunjwah.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families”, said Saroori.

Expressing grief and shock over the sad demises of Haji Ghulam Mohammad Malik and Fatta Begum, G. M Saroori said that their death has created a vacuum which cannot be filled so easily and added that the deceased’s were pious human beings and noble souls. “They were highly learned and committed persons of Damber and Patnazi areas,” said Saroori.

Conveying condolences to the bereaved families, Mr. Saroori prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and expressed solidarity with the families in his hour of grief to bear the irreparable loss besides this place for them in heaven.

G. M Saroori condoles Ulfat Kishtwari’s demise


KISHTWAR, NOEVMBER 27: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Monday condoled the demise of well-known poet, scholar, writer, and author of many books, Ghulam Mohammad Butt Urf Ulfat Kishtwari who passed away today after prolonged illness.

In his condolence message, Mr. Saroori said Ulfat Kishtwari contribution in enriching Kashmir’s modern poetry would be remembered long and recalled the proficiency of the deceased in Urdu, Kashmiri, Persian and English languages.

Saroori prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family beside this place for him in heaven.

PUC members inspect upcoming Cable Car Project Jammu




Inspected all three sites of construction work including Bahu Fort, Mahamaya Temple and Peerkho

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 24: The Committee on Public Undertaking of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly under the Chairmanship of MLA, Satpaul Sharma inspected the pace of work on Cable Car project from Mubarak Mandi to Bagh-e-Bahu.

Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, Legislators, G M Saroori, Rajesh Gupta, Abdul Majid Larmi, Rajeev Sharma and Vikram Randhawa also accompanied the Committee during their visit to the project sites.

During the visit, the Committee inspected all three sites of construction work including Bahu Fort, Mahamaya Temple and Peerkho and impressed upon the concerned officers to expedite the works.

Managing Director Cable Car Corporation Limited, Shabir Wani informed the Committee about the status of ongoing works and said that almost 70 percent work on the project has been completed and rest of the work would be completed by March, 2018 with an estimate cost of Rs 75 crore.

The Committee while asking the concerned agency to put in sincere efforts in the timely completion of the project said that this prestigious project would help in making this tourist destination more attractive besides benefitting the people related with the tourism industry. They said with this project, people visiting Vaishno Mata shrine would be attracted to visit Jammu city.

Members of PUC Committee said that with the completion of this project, the long pending demand of the people of Jammu will be fulfilled and hoped that it will help in boosting the tourism sector in Jammu. They also stressed upon the concerned officers to adopt a mechanism to protect the environment safeguards during and after the completion of the projects. They said that all ongoing work on all key projects of Jammu should be completed within the set time frame.

Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez, Vice President JKSCCL, Bari Andrabi and other concerned senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, Chairman of the Committee also chaired a meeting with the senior officers of J&K State Finance Corporation (JKSFC) to discuss the CAGs Audit Paras pertaining to the corporation.

While deliberating on the Audit Paras pertaining to the JKSFC regarding one-time settlement of 29 cases without affecting any recovery from the defaulters, the Committee expressed its deep concern for casual approach of the Finance Department as Administrative Department of State Finance Corporation.

By way of sending the reply without approval of the Commissioner Secretary and office of the Accountant General, the Committee asked the concerned Managing Director to Come up with the approved reply of Commissioner Secretary Finance Department and also get a approval by the Accountant General in next meeting.

Managing Director, however while briefing the Committee informed that the settlement process does not need approval of the government but it is approved by the Board of Directors.

Committee to review progress on Mubarak Mandi Bagh-e-Bahu Cable Car project

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 15: A meeting of the Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here under the Chairmanship of MLA, Sat Paul Sharma to examine the Audit Paras pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC).

Threadbare discussion was held on CAGs Audit Report pertaining to JKTDC for the year 2002-03 and 2015-16 regarding delay in construction of building besides the overall functioning of the JKTDC and JK State Cable Car Corporation (JKSCC).

Legislators, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Raja Manzoor Ahmed, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Abdul Majid Larmi, Rajeev Sharma and Vikram Randhawa attended the meeting and gave their suggestions regarding early sorting out of the related audit paras of the department.

During the discussion, the Committee expressed concern over the lapses on part of the department in furnishing the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the recommendations and directions given by the Committee in its 42nd Report and directed the concerned authorities to come up with full preparation in its next meeting.

However, the Committee was satisfied with the progress on ongoing construction works of the Corporation Office of JKSCC at Bemina, Srinagar and decided to drop the related audit para with the condition that the office will function in new complex by March, 2018.

It was also decided in the meeting that the Committee will conduct on the spot inspection of Mubarak Mandi Bagh-e-Bahu Cable Car project to review progress on the work on 21st November, 2017.

The members of the Committee also highlighted various issues regarding development of tourism sector in the state and stressed on the concerned authorities to expedite the work on all ongoing projects of the Corporation.

Secretary, Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez, and Managing Director, JKSCC, Shamim Ahmed Wani briefed the Committee about the action taken by the Corporation on the observations made by the CAG in its reports besides other activities of the department.

The Committee was also informed about the present status of the working of various projects of the Corporation. It was assured that the Corporation will take up all necessary steps to promote the tourism infrastructure in the state on priority basis.

Deputy Accountant General, Audit, V K Bakshi also briefed the Committee about the observations made by CAG in its report pertaining to JKTDC.

Among others, Additional Secretary, Tourism Gulzar Ahmed, FA/CAO, Yasir Sharief, AO, JKCCC Shafiq Sidiqui besides Deputy Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat and other senior officers of concerned departments were also present in the meeting,

Chatroo, November 14: - Vice President of Jammu and Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that idea of change is getting strengthened in the state because large numbers of people are joining Congress to become part of the movement for the change.

Addressing functions at Hilnaar, Chatroo and at his residence to welcome hundreds of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) workers from Chatroo areas, who joined Congress in presence of Mr. Saroori. While welcoming the new entrants into the party including former block president of PDP from Chatroo, Chowdhary Mohd Qasim. Mr. Saroori observed that workers from ruling party are joining Congress which was a clear indication that that there was a strong resentment against the present dispensation which has miserably failed to address grievances of the people. He said that it was result of the people’s disillusionment with the present regime that people from all the corners are coming forward to join Congress to become part of the movement for change.

Saroori said it was result of the good governance of the previous Congress led coalition that there was realization among all sections of the society only Congress has the vision and commitment to address their aspirations. “Congress has earned faith and credibility of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said and reminded the gathering that Congress during its tenure had proved its capability of changing life of the common masses by treating all individual equally and providing equal opportunities to all sections of the society. “The Congress led regime during its tenure had generated governance consciousness among the people who had a taste of good governance and pro-people administration”, he said. “Having tasted the good governance during our tenure, the people had hope that the present regime PDP and BJP would also follow the path of its predecessor but this regime has failed to provide even basic amenities to the common masses”, Saroori observed.

State Congress Vice President expressed hope that with the joining of the workers, the Congress will further strengthen its base at the grassroots level in the area. He asked them to serve the people and spread the programmes and policies of the Congress party and expose the failure of coalition government of J&K.

The newly joined workers including Former president PDP block committee Chatroo, Chowdhary Mohd Qasim, senior PDP leader from Chatroo Ghulam Mohd, Abdullah Katari, Shamasdin, Bashir Ahmed, Abdul Kareem, Jamal Din, Somnath, Sehaj Ram, Kuldeep Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Babi Chand, Kishore Kumar, Ranjeet Kumar, Ghulam Hussain, Abdullah, Nasir Ahmed, Fareed Ahmed, Altaf Hussain Reshi, Chowdhary Nasra, Bashir Ahmed, Abdul Kareem, Mohd Aslam, Ghulam Mohd, Krishan Lal, Bodh Ram and others from Chatroo belt while speaking said the move they claimed was made necessary because the PDP-BJP government was implementing the “RSS agenda” in jammu and Kashmir. “We have been with the PDP and BJP for the last more than 10 years. But now we feel that the works of people are not being done. They said whenever we raise problems of the people, like drainage, drinking water, electricity, MGNREGA payment, improvement of road connectivity, nobody in the PDP and BJP listens to us. They said that Congress policies for upliftment of poor people have motivated them to join this party. So, we decided to join the Congress party. They expressed their resolve to work for further strengthening the party in Chatroo belt.

Saroori visited Sarthal took stock of peoples problems

SARTHAL, NOVEMBER 13: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohamamd Saroori today conducted a tour of the Sarthal area and took stock of the problems faced by the people especially of rural areas.

During the tour he visited many places including Moharwari, Dada, Thakkar Mohalla, Kahil, Karool, Karaeys and Angara areas of Sarthal and interacted with the locals and listened to their problems. At some places he announced grant from his constituency development fund to cater to the needs of the people of those areas.

At Karool, Saroori inspected ongoing work of 100 bedded girl’s hostel, construction of laboratory, laying of tiles work in the higher secondary school Sarthal and ongoing blacktopping work from Karool to Dada.

Saroori expressed concern that the development process started by the previous Government had been stopped and as a result the people are facing problems pertaining to power, drinking water and other civic amenities. He held detailed discussions with the workers and common people about the problems being faced by them. He said he would try to put pressure on the administration to resolve issues of immediate nature but for a long term they might have to wait for a change in the Government. The anti people policies of the present State Government have turned the entire population against it, Saroori said, adding the Government is neither willing nor able to address the problems faced by the people.

He also interacted with several deputations who sought redress of their day to day grievances. Saroori listened to their demands patiently and assured them of appropriate and time-bound action.

On the occasion many PDP and BJP workers from Karool B panchayat joined Congress workers. Welcoming new entrants in the party fold, Mr. Saroori expressed the hope that their joining will further strengthen Congress party in Karool-B panchayat at grass roots level.

While chairing the party workers meeting, Mr. Saroori asked the party functionaries to reach out to the people with the ultimate goal of serving them and ensure all public grievances are highlighted and addressed in a timely and efficient manner. He asked the party functionaries to continue with their work of strengthening the party at the grassroots level and reach out to more and more youth and involve them in constructive party activities aimed at ushering the State into another corrective era of peace, progress and stability and expose the failure of PDP and BJP coalition government in J&K on all fronts which is visible to all.

Addressing the 112th foundation day function of Islamia Faridia Educational & Research Institute here, Mr. Saroori said that it is the responsibility of every individual to impart a quality education to their children’s family members added that the role of Islamia Faridia Educational and Research Institute Kishtwar in imparting the education to people of not only Kishtwar District, but Chenab valley as whole since last 112 years could not be forgotten added that students without considering their religion avail educational benefits from this school. He said that it is due to the education imparted to the society by this school, Kishtwar District presented united secular faces at the time of the partition of the country in 1947 when whole of the Sub-Continent was burning in the fire of communalism and hatred.

Saroori said every individual is responsible for what we are witnessing today in the society in terms of lacks of moral and religious education added that without inculcating religious education in the schools, the society as a whole will have to suffer and offered its full support to the management of Islamia School Kishtwar in establishing a religion based courses in the school. He also made an appeal to the people of Kishtwar and its representatives to come forward by setting aside the political differences and helps the institute in collecting required funds for running the management of this public school who is facing deficit of Rs. 30 lacks as well as in Meating out the requirements of salaries. Saroori appealed people of Kishtwar to come forward and strength the walls of institution as such institutions are not of the people but for the people and growth can come only when they are being allowed to groom by ensuring economic stability and freedom. He also assured them that he along with representatives of various political parties and others will knock the doors of people and will collect funds required by the institute for day to day affairs.

He also laid stress on the management of the school and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) college to modern of art facilities in the school and college for teaching purpose and urged upon the parents to get admit their children’s at Islamia School Kishtwar, beside made an appeal to the people of Kishtwar and help the school through every possible means. He also donated Rs. 1 lacks to the institution out of his salary, beside assured its full support to administrator Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar in future as well.

On this occasion around Rs. 4 lacs public donations were collected by the supporters and party workers of MLA Inderwal and same was handed over to the school management.

G. M Saroori review status of development workers and welfare scheme

CHATROO, NOVEMEBR 10: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori exhorted upon the senior functionaries to intensify monitoring for effective implementation of schemes. Speed up the pace of development projects and monitor the works closely, he directed the officers while chairing a high level meeting convened to review the status of development works and welfare schemes here at a meeting of the Officers of sub-division Chatroo of district Kishtwar.

The meeting was attended by SDM Chatroo Masood Ahmed Qazi, DY SP Chatroo, Tehsildar Mugalmaidan, BDO Chatroo, BDO Mugalmaidan, Xeen R&B Chatroo, Xeen PMGSY Chatroo, CDPO Chatroo, BMO Chatroo, ZEO Chatroo, Naib Tehsildars, AEE PHE Chatroo, AEE PDD Chatroo, TSO Chatroo, VAS Sheep and Aninal Husbandry Chatroo, Range Officer Udil Chatroo, Range Manager SFC Chatroo, Social Welfare Officer Chatroo, Agriculture Extension Officer Chatroo & Dadpeth, Horticulture development officer Chatroo, Fisheries Development officer Mugalmaidan besides officials of various departments.

Mr. Saroori took a detailed review of core sectors including PHE, R&B, PMGSY, RDD, CAPD, Social Welfare, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Tourism and Education and discussed the measures to further streamline service delivery system in the sub-division Chatroo.

He issued instructions to R&B, PMGSY, JKPCC, RDD, Hydraulic Division and Forest departments to speed up the works being executed by them under various schemes and exhorted upon the engineers to ensure the quality of work is not compromised with so that quality and enduring public infrastructure is developed. He asked them to sort out the problems being faced in execution of works and bring in his notice where they face problem. He also called for expediting the work on the construction of Degree College Chatroo, compound walling to HSS Chatroo, Eidgah Sinthan, early completion of blacktopping work, clearance of landslides on Bhata, Singpora, Loidhar, Balana, Mangthalla roads, bridges, temporary culverts, panchayat ghars, fisheries unit at Sigdi, Tehsil buildings, CIC building Mugalmaidan, Hospitals building at Dadpeth, Singpora, Sigdi, Rahalthal, completion of Dak Bungalows at Kuriya, Sinthan, Kuchal Sheikhpura road, Sheeri, Thal Kwath roads, Animal Husbandry building, Ujjwala scheme, MGNREGA scheme, IHHL, swatch bharat, RGGVY phase II, Dien Dayal and ropeways in the area, considering the short working season.

Saroori sought detailed progress on the project of PHE department from AEE PHE and directed him to start the work immediately so that the needs of people are met effectively. He also asked the officials to fully utilize the existing schemes so that people may get respite from scarcity of water besides this directed the PHE officials to follow up in Chief Engineer PHE office regarding sanctioning of new water supply schemes. He also directed CAPD to ensure ration to far flung areas on priority basis as these areas are facing shortage of food items. He also directed officials of Education department to look into the issues regarding teaching staff on priority so that the shortage of teachers in far flung areas can be met effectively.

MLA Inderwal directed the BMO Chatroo to ensure availability of all essential medicine at the PHC Chatroo and sub-centres besides rendering selfless service by the medicos. He stressed on the need for an integrated approach for effective implementation of various welfare schemes in the area. While reviewing the functioning of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Department Chatroo, Saroori asked all the concerned officers to ensure that all the developmental schemes are executed efficiently so that benefits reach the common masses.

Earlier, the SDM Chatroo, Masood Ahmed Qazi, presented a brief overview of the present status of woks under different schemes in sub-division Chatroo and impressed upon officials to work with utmost zeal to remove the bottlenecks to achieve maximum developmental targets. He further impressed upon the field functionaries manning the schemes to ensure that all the schemes were properly projected among the target groups and their requirements and needs were properly factored in.

Castigated communal & opportunistic forces for dividing the people in the name of religion and region

Kontwara area suffered the most during BJP government; Three dozen BJP workers joined Congress

KANDANI, NOVEMBER 08: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori castigated communal and opportunistic forces for dividing the people in the name of religion and region.

While addressing a public meeting here at Kandani area of Kishtwar district, Saroori accused PDP and BJP of pursuing communal, caste and regional based politics, saying this is detrimental to the pluralistic ethos of the State. He said Congress is the only party which reflects the urges and aspirations of the people of the three regions and their sub regions. ‘Communal amity and harmony has been the hallmark of Congress”, he said.

Saroori said areas like Kontwara had suffered the most during BJP government and said the schemes under PMGSY is incomplete because of contractor-BJP politician nexus. Saroori asked: “Who are the people who are not letting the construction work on the Kontwara Bridge to start, who are the people who are not constructing the sanctioned road for Kontwara under PMGSY, who are the people who don’t want to construct the road on the approved alignment, People in 2014 election gave thumbing majority to BJP from Kontwara area where are the promises and assurances made by the so called leaders.

He said that the politics of BJP leaders has been based on opportunism, deceit, backstabbing and falsehood. He lambasted BJP for indulging in double speak and working against the interests of the people. He called upon people of Kontwara to strengthen Congress party in order to steer the area to new vistas of progress and development.

Saroori said BJP had made number of hallow promises to the people in Kontwara, like launching a special recruitment drive, giving away free ration among masses, completion of Kontwara road within 2 years of time, electricity and drinking water facility in every house hold of Kontwara, and many other things, but nothing has been done on ground. He said that the BJP government didn’t look into the issues of people of the area. This government, instead of solving problems of people, is resorting to cosmetic acts for camera and displaying flashy and expensive cars to make their presence felt, he said and added the government is completely missing from the ground.

On the occasion three dozen BJP workers from Kontwara including Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Kewal Krishan, Madan Lal, Pawan Kumar, Mulkhraj Sharma, Devraj Sharma Pujari, Ramesh Kumar, Khem Raj, Des Raj, Ramesh Kumar, Omi Chand, Munshi Ram, Ghulam Mouhiuddin, Ghulam Hussain, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Ghulam Qadir Ahangar, Somi Raj, Subriv Sharma, Bodh Raj, Giyan Chand, Somi Raj, Babu Ram, Phulail Singh, Chowdhary Maeya, Mohd Iqbal and others joined Congress party in presence of Mr. Saroori.

Earlier Mr. Saroori inspected the ongoing development works in Hasti area and asked the executive agency for completing the works in a time bound manner so that people will be benefitted.

Prevailing anarchy and chaos in the state is a result of the failure of PDP-BJP

MUGALMAIDAN, NOVEMBER 07: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in Mugalmaidan tehsil of Inderwal constituency. The scheme provides free LPG connections to the women from BPL households.

Speaking on the occasion, Saroori said that the initiative, in line with creating smoke-less villages across the country, has come as a moment of pride for the women in BPL- households for getting LPG connection as an identity of their own and to lead a smoke-free, less polluted, convenient and healthy life.

The scheme aims to safeguard the health of women and children by providing them with a clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their health in smoky kitchens or wander in unsafe areas collecting firewood. Under PMUY, around 50 thousands LPG connections will be provided to BPL families across the Inderwal during the next one year.

Saroori said that the deserving people shall be given free LPG connections along with a gas stove and a regulator. He said that providing LPG connections to BPL households will ensure universal coverage of cooking gas and added that this measure will empower women and protect their health by reducing the labour and time spent on cooking.

Later Saroori also held party workers meetings at Zella, Chingam areas and said that the credibility of the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir is at its lowest due to failure on all fronts and rampant corruption. “From day one, when this government (People’s Democratic Party-Bhartiya Janta Party coalition) was formed, there is instability and uncertainty in the state.” He told a large gathering of Congress worker that “prevailing anarchy and chaos in the state is a result of the failure of the system”.

The former Congress minister observed: “The situation which was prevailing in the state since March 2015 still persists because the government has failed to bring transparency and accountability in the system.” He also called the PDP-BJP regime a “directionless coalition” which has entered into an alliance “just to grab power”. The Saroori said both the coalition partners speak in different tones on many important issues. He said nothing has been implemented on the ground, as for the political promises, the promises of return of power projects, revocation AFSPA, Article 370, Article 35 A- every single promise has been abandoned", Saroori said.

On the occasion hard core workers of PDP party including Din Mohd Sheikh and Ghulam Qadir Sheikh from Mugalmaidan areas joined Congress party in presence of Mr. Saroori.

LOIDHAR (MUGALMAIDAN), NOEVEMBER 06: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today regretted that BJP government had reversed the process of peace and balanced development, which was initiated by the previous NC-Congress regime in the state.

Addressing a public meeting here Saroori reminded the gathering that during the NC-Congress regime a comprehensive policy was devised for the overall development of backward areas and special attention was paid to the neglected and far flung areas.

Saroori said that not only neglected areas were brought on the developmental maps but a sense of security was also restored among the inhabitants of such areas, who are virtually sandwiched between two guns before after formation of PDP-BJP government in the State.

“After 2014 there is total chaos and confusion in the State and the common masses are gripped with fear psychosis”, he reminded, adding, “Those who were at the helm of the affairs after 2014 had deliberately created an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear only to accomplish their nefarious designs”.

Saroori reminded that Congress party had pioneered and implemented peace, development and reconciliatory policies which yielded very encouraging results all over the State. He said that Congress during its tenure had proved to how to deliver good govern and how to establish transparency and accountability in the governance. “I don’t want to praise myself but people of the State now comparing our achievements with the three years long mis-governance of PDP-BJP regimes”, he said and added that Congress regime in the State had established a system of governance which earned credibility and acceptability of the common masses.

He said that Congress treated all regions equally but backward and ignored regions were given special attentions", he said and challenged his opponents to come with any evidence of discrimination with any regions or sub-regions during Congress tenure.

Saroori also exhorted party workers to expose failures of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) among the masses, he said that three years performance of the centre and State Government was a big zero and this regime has nothing to exhibit in the name of its achievements. He said that performance of the centre & State Government appeared only on the papers and on ground they have failed miserably. He said this regime has systematically bulldozed democratic institutions and legalized corruption.

On the occasion two dozens of BJP and PDP workers joined Congress party, Calling upon the new entrants to strengthen the party by spreading agenda of the party, Mr. Saroori said that change was order of the day and people of State were looking towards Congress at National as well as state level to change the present corrupt system. “It is the desire of all Congressmen to establish a system where every sections of the society would get justice and equal opportunities for development and economic growth”, he said and added that the agenda of the Congress was formulated by accommodating wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State. He said that Congress during its tenure had carved out a path of peace and development in the State by treating all regions and sub-region equally. He recalled that during Congress regime especial attention was paid towards neglected and remotest areas.

Shariq Saroori inaugurates final match of Malanoo Premier League






Huge gathering attends final ceremony

KAHARA, NOVEMBER 04: - Senior Youth Congress leader from Inderwal, Shariq Ahmed Saroori inaugurated the final match of Malanoo Premier League, the Cricket Tournament which was played between Batyas XI and Malanoo XI teams amidst huge gathering of participating teams, spectators and local populace at Malanoo, here.

The Tournament is innovative initiative by the Malanoo Kahara cricket management to bring Kahara in focus and to provide the local youth a massive platform to showcase their talent.

Shariq Saroori was accompanied by Block Congress Committee President Kahara, Chowdhary Farooq Ahmed, Master Bashir Ahmed Sirwal, Mohd Iqbal Malik, Amir Saroori, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Jaffar Hussain, Zulfikar Ali Wani, Master Tehzeem, Mangta Parray, Khair Din Magray, and a galaxy of Congress and Youth Congress leaders during the final ceremony They interacted with the players of the teams played in the final.

In all, 40 teams of 25 Panchayats of Inderwal Assembly Constituency participated in this cricket tournament.

In the final match of the Tournament was reduced to 16 over’s due to bad weather earlier. Batyas XI thrashed Malanoo XI after Batyaz XI who had set target of 147 runs. Chasing the target Malanoo XI could manage only 127. For Batyaz XI, Ahmer Sehzad top scored with 47 runs off 31 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes, Shakir Hussain was the pick of the bowlers who bagged 3 important wickets for 30 runs in his 4 over’s, while Mushtaq & Firdous took 2 wickets each. The match was officiated by Bashir Ahmed and Irfan Ahmed. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Jaffar Hussain.

Speaking on the occasion, Shariq Saroori said losing or winning of a game is immaterial but participating as worthy sports persons, performing with best capacity and maintaining quality of conduct while playing is counted a lot at the end of the day. He appreciated efforts of organizers in promoting grassroots cricket. He said that cricket is a passion amongst the J&K, be it children, youth or the elderly and there is a need to promote this sports in rural areas as well so the youths of this area could prove their talent.

He said that youth of the State despite having lot of interest in sports and allied activities and valour and zest for doing better, hardly get much opportunity to showcase their talent and skill, because people around them are least bothered to organise quality tournaments to provide them platform to hone their skill. He said probably that is one of the reasons as to why our State is still lagging behind in the sports sphere at the National scene, adding that absence of State cricketers in Indian Premier League (IPL) portraits picture of the opportunities and the avenues being provided to the State cricketers at the local level. Saroori further said that the mega sporting events like Premier leagues will go a long way in promoting sports culture in the State and helping in producing national stuff.

Saroori also assured people of Kahara that with the help of MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori within a year a cricket stadium will be build in Malanoo Kahara area but for that local people have to provide the land and distributed Rs 10, 000 to the winning team and Rs 7,000 to the runner up team.

MUGALMAIDAN, NOVEMBER 03: Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, G. M Saroori convened a public darbar at Mugalmaindan to listen to the problems of people at their door steps.

The Darbar was attended by the officials from RDD, PHE, Revenue, CAPD, watershed, I&FC, PDD, R&B, PMGSY, Education besides local congressmen’s.

Most of the public demands were pertaining to the provision of safe drinking water supply, rational and speedy ration supply, upgradation of link roads, power facility and proper upkeep of transformers, transportation facility, clearance of MGNREGA and IHHL liability, blacktopping on various link roads, health care, etc.

Reiterating his commitment to keep constant rapport with the public and move the administration out of the offices to villages, Saroori said on the spot appraisal of public needs and redressal of their grievances will be the benchmark of his governance. He enquired about the status of each work pointed out by the public to officers who gave details of the projects and timeframe for their completion. He emphasized the need for completing all works in a targeted timeframe and asked the officers to formulate proposals for various demands projected by the people during the open darbar.

Mr. Saroori said that holding of such darbars will form a permanent feature and the gap between administration and the public would be reduced to zero level so that policy planning will be framed according to the public needs in particular areas. This will also give ample opportunity to the officers of various departments to get firsthand appraisal of the problems of people in rural and far-flung areas.

On the occasion Mr. Saroori also announced blacktopping on vital link roads of Mugalmaidan tehsil including Kuchal, Tagood, Durbeel, Sigdi, Mulchitter Pain, Seri Balana, Bhata, Simbole and said within two years of time all the roads of tehsil Mugalmaidan will be blacktopped. He also congratulated the casual and daily wagers that a comprehensive policy is being worked out which will address the concerns and grievances of all causal, adhoc and other employees by regularizing them and giving them Rs. 250 per day to them.

During the public interaction, Mr. Saroori assured people that their genuine grievances would be addressed on priority. He further asked the officers to work with honesty and dedication and come up to the expectation of the people and mitigate their problems. He asked the people to come up and avail maximum benefit from the schemes launched in the area for upliftment of socio-economic condition of weaker sections of the society.

After the public darbar held at Mugalmaidan, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) suffered a big blow as its two dozen workers joined Congress Party in presence of Mr. Saroori in a simple function held here. They expressed to resolve to work for further strengthening the party in Mugalmaidan belt of Inderwal. Saroori said that Congress party has brought real democracy in the State by challenging hegemony of the BJP and PDP. Taking a swipe at Bhartiya Janta Party for exploiting people, Saroori said that from the last three years backward, far flung and hilly areas had to suffer at the hands of PDP-BJP who has presided over the worst form of Governments in the State. “Encouraging nepotism and corruption, mal-administration etc are the only achievements of the three year long mis-goverance of the PDP-BJP regimes in the State”, He mentioned and added that PDP-BJP leaders have build their own empires within and outside the State at the cost of the poor people of Jammu and Kashmir. Calling upon the people to put their faith in Congress, he said that Congress party was committed to throw out this present worst ever corrupt and rotten system and to establish a system of justice, transparency and equality.

BATYAS, NOVEMBER 01: - Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, G. M Saroori today distributed regularization orders among six Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers from Batyas Education Zone at an impressive function organised by the Education Department here.

Addressing the function, Mr. Saroori appreciated the work of ReT teachers who served the department with zeal and honesty. He said: “Teachers are the nation builders. I urge you (teachers) to provide quality and moral education to students and build prospective future for them.”

Saroori asked the teaching fraternity to put in all out efforts to upgrade the standard of education and make the students able to face the challenges and competitions at state, national and international level. He asked officers to arrange parent-teacher meet every month as the liaison will benefit the students in their academic and extra-curricular activities.

He said during Congress tenure whose aim is to improve basic facilities of the people, in this regard Congress has set up 1000 middle schools, 300 high schools, 52 higher secondary’s in Chenab Valley and said that the development plans devised by the Ghulam Nabi Azad the then Chief Minister in Jammu and Kashmir has ensured socio economic transformation of the people particularly living in rural and remote areas.

On the occasion, Saroori also praises Education Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari in bringing reforms in the education department. He said that the education system has grown and now students are showing their capabilities at various stages and they are cracking various entrances in highly reputed universities and colleges.

Saroori also chaired the workers meeting in Batyas areas asking party cadre to strengthen the party. He lambasted state and central governments for their ‘failure’ to meet out their promises with the public, adding that developmental activities in the state have come to a standstill. He also exhorted upon the people to maintain peace as the peaceful atmosphere is important for development process.

He also expressed resentment against the attachment of Sub Division Bhalessa with Additional Deputy Commissioner-Bhaderwah, without considering the proximity of the area. He demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision. "It is unjust for the people of Bhalessa to visit 100 kilometers to Bhaderwah from Bhalessa by crossing the district headquarter Doda that is only 66 kms away from Bhalessa," said Saroori. He said that the decision of the Government for attaching Sub Division Gandoh with ADC Bhaderwah is unjust and need withdrawal keeping in view the proximity of Bhalessa and Thathri with District Headquarter Doda.
