G. M Saroori launched the PMUY in Mugalmaidan

Prevailing anarchy and chaos in the state is a result of the failure of PDP-BJP

MUGALMAIDAN, NOVEMBER 07: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in Mugalmaidan tehsil of Inderwal constituency. The scheme provides free LPG connections to the women from BPL households.

Speaking on the occasion, Saroori said that the initiative, in line with creating smoke-less villages across the country, has come as a moment of pride for the women in BPL- households for getting LPG connection as an identity of their own and to lead a smoke-free, less polluted, convenient and healthy life.

The scheme aims to safeguard the health of women and children by providing them with a clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their health in smoky kitchens or wander in unsafe areas collecting firewood. Under PMUY, around 50 thousands LPG connections will be provided to BPL families across the Inderwal during the next one year.

Saroori said that the deserving people shall be given free LPG connections along with a gas stove and a regulator. He said that providing LPG connections to BPL households will ensure universal coverage of cooking gas and added that this measure will empower women and protect their health by reducing the labour and time spent on cooking.

Later Saroori also held party workers meetings at Zella, Chingam areas and said that the credibility of the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir is at its lowest due to failure on all fronts and rampant corruption. “From day one, when this government (People’s Democratic Party-Bhartiya Janta Party coalition) was formed, there is instability and uncertainty in the state.” He told a large gathering of Congress worker that “prevailing anarchy and chaos in the state is a result of the failure of the system”.

The former Congress minister observed: “The situation which was prevailing in the state since March 2015 still persists because the government has failed to bring transparency and accountability in the system.” He also called the PDP-BJP regime a “directionless coalition” which has entered into an alliance “just to grab power”. The Saroori said both the coalition partners speak in different tones on many important issues. He said nothing has been implemented on the ground, as for the political promises, the promises of return of power projects, revocation AFSPA, Article 370, Article 35 A- every single promise has been abandoned", Saroori said.

On the occasion hard core workers of PDP party including Din Mohd Sheikh and Ghulam Qadir Sheikh from Mugalmaidan areas joined Congress party in presence of Mr. Saroori.
