KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 31: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the road accident on Kishtwar-Sinthan national highway near Bandarkote in Kishtwar district.

"Our hearts go out to the families of those who have lost their dear ones in the unfortunate accident", Saroori said in a statement while expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, praying for strength to them to bear irreparable loss. He also prayed for peace to the departed souls besides place for them in Jannat.

Ghulam Mohammad Saroori further underlined the need to have an action plan to contain road accidents. He urged the State Government to take “meaningful steps in improving the condition of road from Kishtwar to Sinthan.” Saroori prayed for courage and strength to bereaved families and eternal peace of the departed souls.

It is to mention here that two persons namely Mohd Ayoub son of Latief Butt resident of Gundana Doda (22) and Adil Fareed son of Gul Mohd Hajam resident of Akhyarabad Kishtwar (21) died on spot in a road accident near Bandarkote on Kishtwar-Sinthan national highway. “The mishap occurred when a car bearing no JK17-4924 was on way from Kishtwar to Chatroo skidded off the road and rolled down near village of Bandarkote,"


PDP-BJP miserably failed to address core issues: Sharik Saroori

KUCHAL, DECEMBER 31: - Hitting out at the ruling PDP-BJP government in the State, Youth Congress Leader, Sharik Ahmed Saroori accused them of callousness in providing basic facilities like drinking water and proper ration supply to the people of far flung and mountainous region of Chenab Valley.

While interacting with the people at Simbole, Basha, Gowari, Kundka areas of Kuchal, Sharik Saroori said that acute shortage of drinking water was unprecedented, which speaks of callousness of the Government towards residents. They seem to have been held to ransom by the insensitive, irresponsible and anti-people Government. The government is deliberately denying them basic facilities, Sharik Saroori said.

Sharik Saroori said that instead responding to grim situation, arising in the wake of ill-conceived policies of the Coalition government, the Government is trying to divert the public attention from its failures and ill-conceived policies and programmes which instead of providing any succor to suffering people have only added to their miseries.

Expressing concern over the irregular supply of ration, Sharik Saroori asked the government to streamline the public distribution system. The poor sections of society, especially those living below poverty line, are totally dependent on public distribution system for ration as they cannot afford to buy rice, atta, sugar etc from open market, he added. He alleged that Coalition government has failed to solve day today problems of the people and common masses have to agitate on streets even for getting basic amenities like water, power and ration.

Lambasting on BJP, Sharik Saroori said that this party has betrayed people of Jammu and Kashmir as nothing has been done to solve their day to day problems. ” PDP and BJP are creating hype and plunging the state into uncalled for controversies over issues which are no way connected either with governance or the much hyped development,” he said.

Later Sharik Saroori also met with a deputation at Udeel Chatroo and projected various demands for early redressal. Mr. Saroori heard the deputation patiently and gave full assurance that Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, G. M Saroori to take up the all issues vigorously in the upcoming Assembly and assured that he (MLA Inderwal) will leave no stone unturned for early redressal of the genuine demands.

DURBEEL, DECEMBER 30: - Youth Congress leader Sharik Ahmed Saroori today said people are of Jammu and Kashmir are waiting eagerly for the day when the present government (PDP and BJP) will be vanished from the State.

While addressing the Congress party workers at Lonepura, Lower Durbeel , Zolla areas of Durbeel panchayat in tehsil Mugalmaidan, Sharik Saroori said as children impatiently wait for the Eid and count the remaining days on their finger tips, people in the same manner wait for the day when the government will cease to exist.

Sharik Saroori termed the policies of present state government responsible for pushing youth to corner and castigated it for failing the youth of the state. “The failure of government can be gauged from the number of teacher’s posts advertised by recruiting agencies for Chenab valley as comparison with the constituencies of where PDP is strong,” Sharik said.

PDP-BJP has miserably failed in delivering the goods and is surviving on hollow slogans and propaganda,” Sharik Saroori said and added that there is no development taken in the Chenab Valley during the present regime. “I am not exaggerating but the fact is that there is no Government on the ground. He said that people have got fed up with the present government and they do not expect anything at all from the present regime,” he said.

On the occasion, people projected various demands including replacement of transformer, sanctioning of road, correction in issuing of BPL and APL ration cards, clearance of MGNREGA, IHHL, watershed scheme liability and better drinking water facility. Mr. Saroori assured the general public that within 2 days of time 25kv transformer will be replaced with the 63 kv transformer and other genuine demands will be addressed on top priority. He also said that Mr. G. M Saroori MLA Inderwal have already released funds out his CDF for Nanthala for installation of poles and transformer.

Earlier, three dozen prominent political activist from PDP and BJP parties including senior PDP leaders from Thal Dandu and Durbeel Mohd Ramzan Rather, Ghulam Mohd, Prem Nath, Bansi Lal, Roashan Lal, Suresh Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Raj, Nissar Ahmed, Farooq Ahmed, Khushi Mohd, Mohd Sabir, Mohd Ramzan, Abdul Mohd Lone, Ghulam Mouhiuddin, Tanveer Ahmed, Kousar Ahmed, Ghulam Rasool, Lassa Sheikh, Sajjad Ahmed, Zakir Hussain, Fareed Ahmed, Abdul Gani, Abdul Rasheed, Chowdhary Israeil, Ismaeil Ali, Mohd Ishaq, Altaf Hussain, Maam Din, Mohd Rafique, and others joined the party at a function here.

Mr. Sharik Saroori welcomed all the new entrants in party and said that Congress is the only party to have a clear agenda for the betterment of the people of J&K state," he said and accused PDP-BJP government of "failure" to do anything good for the people of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, newly joined workers said Congress by way of its pro-people policies is the only viable alternative for the people of the State.  He said the ruling Government has failed to do anything good for the people of the state except strengthening the instrument of oppression to unleash terror on them.

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 29: - Vice President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori have expressed shock and grief over the tragic fire incident in village Parna Chingam area of sub-division Chatroo in which four residential houses were completely gutted in a devastating fire incidents.

Expressing his deep sympathies with the families who lost their houses, Saroori asked the administration to carry out relief and rehabilitation measures including provide free ration, tin sheets, blankets and others fire incident victims. Saroori said that there is an immediate need of opening of well equipped fire service stations at tehsil level across the Chenab Valley. He said that in recent years major incidents in Chatroo, Thathri, Keshwan, Mugalmaidan, Bunjwah, Warwan, Marwah, Dachhan, Padder, Nagseni, Drabshalla, Bhalessa and other parts of the District have raised a question mark on preparedness of Fire Service Department and government in tackling the increasing fire incidents in Kishtwar and Doda districts.

Saroori urged government for early setting up of fire service stations at Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Thathri, Bunjwah, Sarthal, Thakrie, Drabshalla, Kahara Bhalessa, Warawan, Nagseni areas to cater the need of the people in the areas. He also urged administration for proper and timely compensation, relief for the affected families and said the government should provide every possible support to the victims so that they could not face any problem in the prevailing cold conditions.

Expressing deepest concern over the devastation caused, Congress leaders while terming the incident as most unfortunate and highly painful assured the affected of every possible help from the Congress party especially from Congress MLA from Inderwal, G. M Saroori, who feels highly concerned about their rehabilitation. They told the fire sufferers that Mr. Saroori is committed to their rehabilitation and will do everything possible to ensure respite to them in this hour of distress. They also distributed relief among the sufferers. Each affected family was also provided a Tent, blankets, ration, and Rs 5000 monthly rent to the affected families till they are permanently rehabilitated.

M Saroori has condoled the death of Chowdhary Ahamda Kandal, father of senior Congress leader from Nagni area, Chowdhary Noor Maey and maternal grandfather of Congress block President Kahara, Chowdhary Farooq Ahmed, who passed away few days back at Nagni area of sub-division Thathri.

Expressing heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family, Mr. Saroori said the deceased was an inspiring personality who with his social service and public good has inspired many and will be remembered for long. While praying for his everlasting peace, Saroori said the deceased was a humble and pious human being who would always stand by the side of needy.

Meanwhile, Youth Congress leader, Sharik Ahmed Saroori, President Block Congress Committee Thathri, Asgar Hussain Khangi, Chowdhary Ishaq, Advocate Shaik Abrar, Ghulam Mohd Masoodi, Farooq Ahmed, Abdul Kareem, Chowdhary Ishaq Naki, Mohd Haneef, Mir Ali, Chowdhary Israeil, Noor Din, and others also visited the residence of Noor Maey at Nagni area of Thathri to express solidarity with him on the demise of his father Chowdhary Ahamda Kandal and other members of the bereaved family.

On the occasion, Sharik Saroori and other senior leaders of Congress extended heartfelt condolence to Chowdhary Noor Maey and said the party stood with him and his family in solidarity in their moment of inconsolable loss. They also prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Review meeting of DDB Doda held



Out of an approved outlay of Rs 172.13 crore an expenditure of Rs 85.89 crore registered till November this year

JAMMU, DECEMBER 24: - A review meeting of District Development Board (DDB) meeting of Doda was held to review the progress on implementation of decisions taken in previous DDB meetings.

The meeting was chaired by Minister for Social Welfare, Science & Technology, ARI and Trainings, Sajad Gani Lone.

Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, Chairperson for J&K Social Welfare Board, Nirmal Gupta, Vice Chairperson J&K State Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of OBC, Rashpaul Verma, Vice Chairperson of J&K State Advisory Board for Pahari Speaking People, Kuldeep Raj Guta, Vice Chairperson J&K State Advisory Board for Welfare & Development of Scheduled Castes, Bushan Lal Dogra, Legislators, G.M Saroori, Shakti Raj Parihar, Daleep Singh Parihar, Neelam Kumar Langeh, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Shyam Lal Bhagat, Firdous Ahmad Tak, District Development Commissioner Doda, Bhawani Rakhwal and Heads of concerned Departments were present in the meeting.

While stressing on cent percent utilization of the funds available under various schemes for district Doda, the Minister impressed upon all the Heads of the Departments and sectoral officers present in the meeting to ensure implementation of all the DDB decisions in letter and spirit and also ensure timely completion of all ongoing developmental projects. He also directed the officials to focus on skill enhancements for which the facilities need to be developed in tune with global standards.

Lone also took a detailed review of various other mega projects in Doda such as Ganpat Bridge, Steel Girder Bridge over River Chenab, WSS Doda Town and directed the concerned executing agencies to stick to the timelines fixed for completion of these mega projects.

Addressing the meeting, Dr Jitendra Singh assured the meeting that every possible help will be provided to the State, however, he asked the concerned to be proactive and pursue the projects submitted by the concerned Departments under different sectors to the Central Government for their accord of sanctioning.

Legislators, G M Saroori, Shakti Raj Parihar, Daleep Singh Parihar, Neelam Kumar Langeh, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Shyam Lal Bhagat and Firdous Ahmad Tak projected various demands of their respective areas and sought early redressal.

The Chairman of the DDB Doda took serious note of non-implementation of some DDB decisions including posting of Radiologist in District Hospital Doda and asked the district administration to work with utmost dedication and complete the fixed targets well in time.

Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Doda presented a detailed report of the physical and financial progress achieved under District Plan, State plan, Centrally Sponsored Schemes and Mega projects in the District. He said that out of an approved outlay of Rs 172.13 crore, an amount of Rs. 117.02 crore was made available and the expenditure ending November this year is Rs 85.89 crore, registering an expenditure of 73.40 percent. He also presented the detailed report of DDB decisions which have been implemented in the district besides those which are under execution under different sectors in the district.

Giving details about financial achievements registered under National Health Mission (NHM) during 2017-18, it was informed in the meeting that 80.79 percent expenditure were incurred on Base Flexi pool, Mission Flexi pool and Immunization activities till ending November 2017.

Under Education sector, it was informed in the meeting that 57753 text books were supplied to the students of 1st & 2nd class/3rd to 8th against the target of 57753. It was also informed in the meeting that against the target of 28 construction, up-gradation, repairs of school building, renovation of high and higher school buildings, 2 were achieved so far and the construction work on rest of other are apace.

Inaugurates "Saheed Jaffer Hussain” Cricket Tournament" at Chatroo

CHATROO, DECEMBER 24: - To boost the sports activities amongst the youth across Inderwal, Youth Congress leader Sharik Ahmed Saroori inaugurated final match of "Saheed Jaffer Hussain Malik” Cricket Tournament" at Chatroo area of Kishtwar district. The tournament is being organized by Youth Congress activists of Chatroo Shahnawaz Hussain, Nawaz Sharief and others.

A large number of people including local residents, political leaders, players of cricket teams and a massive audience were present and also to mention that a number of 16 teams participated in the tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharik Saroori said that it is indeed a great initiative which has been taken by the Youth Congress activists of organizing a cricket tournament on a large scale which has indulge more and more youth with them and it is a positive sign that youth today is progressing towards keeping its mind and physical body fit by taking part in such activities.

Sharik Saroori also gave a message amongst youth to "Stay Away From Drugs" and he stated that by indulging in such ills of society, a person can never progress and it affects the progress of nation as well as youth is considered to be the back bone of this great nation and our generations ahead are dependent upon them.

He also appreciated the efforts of organizers and said that they are also working towards building a better society by organizing such type of activities amongst the youth segment and are fulfilling the dreams of our MLA Inderwal, G. M Saroori who always talks about the youth, its progress and how the youth is helpful in taking our area to new heights.

Youth Congress Leader also said that due to efforts of MLA Indewal, G. M Saroori a children park will be established in Chatroo area and said that within 3 years of time all the roads of Chatroo will be blacktopped which was promised by Mr. Saroori during his election campaign.

The final match of the Tournament was played between Passerkote XI and Tehsil XI Chatroo, wherein Tehsil XI lifted winner’s trophy by defeating Passerkote XI by 50 runs. Earlier, Tehsil XI Chatroo won the toss and elected to bat and made 159 runs in 15 over’s. Chasing the target Passerkote XI could manage only 108 runs. Nawaz Sharief was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 17: - Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) received a severe jolt when its dozen of party workers from Simbole Kuchal area of Tehsil Mugalmaidan turned its back to the exploitation politics of the parties and joined Congress.

The newly entrants resigned from the basic membership of PDP and BJP, relinquished the party posts and joined Congress party in presence of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori at a function and shouted slogans in favour of Congress party and its leadership.

The newly joined workers attributed their joining Congress to the miserable attitude of BJP and PDP towards public concerns adding that the both the parties are only in search of occasions to ignite tension between various sections of the society by exploiting their sentiments on one or the other pretext. “The parties in power are doing nothing to ameliorate the lot of people especially living in far-flung and remote areas. Its leaderships are only interested in saving their chair for vested interests” they alleged. They said that the lucidity and truthfulness in the politics of Congress and the dynamism of Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad and MLA Inderwal, G. “PDP and BJP have done nothing for the people and totally forget the population living in remote and far-flung areas”, they said adding that Ghulam Nabi Azad is the ‘hope of the people of Jammu and Kashmir’ and Congress believes in practical actions rather than slogan raising.

Welcoming the PDP and BJP workers in Congress, Mr. Saroori said that Congress is the voice of people. “It has always stood for the people and will continue to represent the aspirations of all the sections of the society”, he added. Saroori highlighted the development done since 2002 for Inderwal and said that the Congress party symbolizes amity, brotherhood and secular traits. He said equitable development and unity between all sections of the society and regions of the State has remained the benchmark of this party.

Saroori said that Congress is a party of common people and its strength lies in the vast and wholehearted support of the people from all areas and all sections of the society. “We are committed to peace and development of the State”, he said listing the measures taken by him for the betterment of people of the Inderwal. CHATROO, DECEMBER 13: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has urged the Government to ensure adequate availability of essential commodities especially rice, LPG and kerosene in the far along areas of Inderwal constituency.

Mr. Saroori who visited various areas including Chatroo, Dumber, Pahalgwar, Hawal, Kharpura, Udeel, Gagrimal, Thaldandu, Mugalmaidan, Sangambati, Thalaran areas of sub-division Chatroo and has expressed serious concern over the erratic power supply and scarcity of essential commodities including ration, hospital supplies, kerosene oil and LPG gas in the Chenab Valley.

He said that kerosene, ration scarcity and prevailing poor supply of electricity have added to the woes of people who are presently braving tremendous hardships on account of the biting cold in the hilly districts.

Mr. Saroori said there is an immediate need for effective measures to be taken to bridge the gap between availability and consumption of ration, kerosene and for setting up a dependable power delivery system. The authorities must accord a serious consideration to this situation and take measures to mitigate the sufferings of people,” the MLA Inderwal maintained.

He has also urged the Health Department to meet the hospital requirements and services in all PHC’s, sub-centres, district hospital Kishtwar and Doda during the ongoing winter season.

Mr. Saroori also met with the residential structures housing four families was gutted in a devastating fire last week at Udeel, Hawal and Gagrimal. He distributed relief material including blankets, warm clothes, kitchen sets among the fire victims and provided immediate financial assistance out of his own pocket in order to enable the families to meet the exigency. He also announced funds for reconstruction of their houses on IAY pattern under PMAY scheme. He assured the affected villagers of all possible support for their welfare and rehabilitation.

At Mugalmaidan area, PDP and BJP leaders Javed Iqbal Tappal, Mohd Arshad Mir, Mohd Irfan Mir joined Congress party in presence of Mr. Saroori. Welcoming the newly entrants into the party fold, Mr. Saroori said that Congress is a natural choice for all those who want to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir and work for strengthening peace and tranquility.

Mr. Saroori hoped that with the joining of Mr. Javed Iqbal, Mr. Arshad Mir, Mr. Mohd Irfan Mir Congress party will get further strengthened at the grass roots level. He exhorted the party workers to fan out in their areas and help in mitigating the problems faced by the people by raising at appropriate forums.

The newly entrants said that they will serve as foot-soldier of the Congress to carry forward the message of amity and brotherhood besides working for the poor. They said Congress is the only party that can steer the state out of present morass under the dynamic leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad.

At Kharpora, Galwanpora, Thaldandu, Sangambati and Thalaran areas, Mr. Saroori listened the grievances of Congress workers including Installing of electric poles, Laying of GI pipes, functioning of water house, shifting of Middle school Mugalmaidan, early clearance of MGNREGA liability and other day to day problems. He announces funds for various development works out of his CDF and assured that he will leave no stone unturned in redressing the demands of common masses of Inderwal constituency. Also Mr. Saroori personally condole the demises of various persons in the sub-division Chatroo areas. He stayed with the bereaved families and expressed his sympathies and solidarity with them. He also prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed souls beside place for them in heaven.

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 09: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, G. M Saroori and several Congress delegations from Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Thakrie, Drabshalla, Kontwara, Sarthal, Bunjwah, Kishtwar and Youth Congress Kishtwar district and met the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here on Saturday and apprised her about the problems of their areas and Kishtwar and Inderwal constituencies.

Mr. Saroori and the speakers of Congress delegations informed the Chief Minister about the problems faced due to non-availability of funds for various developmental works and projected various public related demands.

They also brought many of their issues into her notice including Early start of work on Singpora-Vailoo tunnel which will help to provide a nearest all weather alternate highway between Jammu to Srinagar and will help in its holistic development, sanctioning of Z-morh to Phamber road under CRF which was announced by Marhoom Mufti Mohammad Sayeed sahib in the board meeting in the year 2015, widening of Kishtwar town road, providing jobs to local youths in hydro electric power projects of Kishtwar, providing modern facilities for general public in Kishtwar district hospital, Sanctioning of Tourism development authority for Inderwal, Sanctioning of Munsif court for sub-division Chatroo, Release of Rs. 50 lakhs for the completion of incomplete Dak Bungalows at Chatroo, Chingam, Sinthan, Sigdi, Kuriya, Blacktopping on Chatroo-Sinthan road at an earliest, Early Construction of Government Degree College Chatroo, which was sanctioned in the year 2010 but JKPCC failed to kick start the work, sanctioning of 6,000 pension cases, 1,000 NFB cases for Kishtwar district, early start of RGGVY phase II project from which all the backward and far flung areas will get electricity, release of 50 lakhs funds for the installation of poles and transformers in different areas, Opening of well equipped fire service station at Chatroo, Filling of vacant posts of Masters and Teachers in the schools in Kishtwar district, Posting of Doctors and functioning of PHC Chatroo, Bunjwah, Rahalthal, Chingam, Patshalla, Patnazi, release of funds for the improvement and upgradation of PHC Chatroo and Bunjwah, Sanction of one ambulance for each PHC’s in the district, Posting of one Medical Assistant in each sub-centres which will cater the demand of the area where NO are making the sub-centres function, Sanction of solar home lights and street lights for the far flung areas of Inderwal.

The Congress leaders further projected the demands of Blacktopping on Dunadi-Bunjwah, Kewa pul to Kither and Tipri to Patnazi roads which are in deplorable condition where people of Bunjwah who are facing the continuous burnt due to poor condition of the road, Developing of Devigol Patnazi, Sinthan, Bimalnag under Tourism department on the pattern of Gulmarg, Sanctioning of government Degree College for Bunjwah, Release of funds 30 lakhs for the construction of Dak Bungalow at tehsil headquarters Bunjwah, Sanctioning of electric receiving station at Bunjwah, Early resume of work on Rattle Power Project Drabshalla, which was stopped by the goons in September 2014, Sanctioning of power grid station at Lass Saroor, where the people are facing problems due to low voltage, Kick start of Kontawa road from the take off point near (Kandani), the contractor has started the road in the middle and since last five years the bridge is yet to be completed, Implementation of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (RR) Plan of 48 Megawatt lower Kalnai HEP, Dundai power project in letter and spirit, Sanctioning of Tatani to Patti and Lass to Mandir under PMGSY scheme, Correction of ration cards as such BPL ration card holders were issued APL ration cards. There is need for issuing correct ration cards infavour of beneficiaries, Release of funds for the construction of Tehsil building Drabshalla, Release of funds Rs. 50 lakhs for the construction of 2nd floor of CIC building and Tehsil building Mugalmaidan, Sanctioning of model village under tribal affairs for Angara, Bhagra and Poora areas, Installation of mobile tower at Poora Chandali, Functioning of Tehsil and Block for Sarthal, Thakrie and Kontwara areas which stands sanctioned in the year 2014 by the state cabinet, Up gradation of various schools at the level of higher secondary and high school levels, Early functioning of power receiving station at Sarthal, Sanctioning of Dadpeth lift scheme, Filler scheme, Niccha, Kuchan, Keshwan scheme, Jungna Balna scheme and ST Mori basti schemes under NABARD, Sanctioning of separate education zone for Mugalmaidan, Early completion of Kuriya Keshwan road, Opening of JK bank branches, Sanctioning of separate education zone for Thakrie which at present is attached with Kishtwar education zone, Blacktopping on Shivnagar Sarawan road under PMGSY and other roads under R&B department besides other demands were projected before the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister heard the Congress delegations patiently and gave full assurance that their demands would be looked into by the state Government on priority.

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 11: - Vice President JKPCC Ghulam Mohammad Saroori-(MLA Inderwal) today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demises of Mohd Ashraf son of Abdul Gani Naik resident of Basha Simbole, Abdul Gani son of Amber Malik resident Noon Palan Kuchal, Mohd Yusuf son of Mohd Ibrahim Gorsi resident of Burdhar Patnazi, Bashir Ahmed son of Naik Mohd resident of Goni Patnazi and Saja Begum wife of late Ghulam Haider Malik resident of Thalaran Kuriya.

Mr. Saroori said Mohd Ashraf, Abdul Gani, Mohd Yusuf, Bashir Ahmed and Saja Begums demises are huge loss for the Kuchal, Bunjwah, Thalaran areas as they were pious, bright and talented personalities.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of the deceased’s as they would be truly missed by everyone by the people,” he said and added that words are not enough to express sorrow over the demises.

Mr. Saroori also prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed souls beside place for them in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased’s to bear this irreparable loss.

J&K Congress Leaders filed nomination papers proposing Rahul Gandhi for post of Congress President



New Delhi, December 07: Senior leaders from Jammu and Kashmir filed nomination papers proposing the name of Shri Rahul Gandhi for the election to the post of Congress President.

The top leaders of JKPCC including legislatures and PCC functionaries led by President JKPCC Sh. G.A. Mir met the AICC Vice-President Shri Rahul Gandhi at Congress HQ New Delhi and submitted two set of proposal each signed by ten PCC senior leaders (newly elected PCC Delegates from J&K) proposing his name (Rahul Gandhi) as a candidate for the post of Congress President. Shri Rahul Gandhi accepted the proposal, proposing his candidature and filed the nomination papers.

Later the leaders submitted the two set of nomination papers proposal to the Chairman Central Election Authority Shri. Mullappally Ramachandran, MP.

Those who submitted the proposal included Tariq Hameed Kara- Ex-MP, N. Rigzin Jora-CLP Leader, Tara Chand- Ex-Dy. CM, P.Namgial- Ex-MP, PCC Vice-Presidents G.M. Saroori – MLA , Haji Ab. KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 07: - Vice President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori have expressed shock and grief over the tragic fire incidents in village Udeel Chatroo, Gagrimal Kakerwagan and Hawal Chatroo in which three residential houses of Bishroop son of Ram Chand, Mohd Shafi son of Din Mohd Sheikh and his brothers house besides this at Gagrimal Kakerwagan stack of dried grass were completely gutted in a devastating fire incidents.

Expressing his deep sympathies with the families who lost their houses, Saroori asked the administration to carry out relief and rehabilitation measures including provide free ration, tin sheets, blankets and others fire incident victims. Saroori said that there is an immediate need of opening of well equipped fire service stations at tehsil level across the Chenab Valley. He said that in recent years major incidents in Chatroo, Thathri, Keshwan, Mugalmaidan, Bunjwah, Warwan, Marwah, Dachhan, Padder, Nagseni, Drabshalla, Bhalessa and other parts of the District have raised a question mark on preparedness of Fire Service Department and government in tackling the increasing fire incidents in Kishtwar and Doda districts.

Saroori urged government for early setting up of fire service stations at Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Thathri, Bunjwah, Sarthal, Thakrie, Drabshalla, Kahara Bhalessa, Warawan, Nagseni areas to cater the need of the people in the areas. He also urged administration for proper and timely compensation, relief for the affected families and said the government should provide every possible support to the victims so that they could not face any problem in the prevailing cold conditions.

Congress leaders including Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Shariq Ahmed Saroori, Hafiz Ali Mohd, Bidya Lal Sharma, Irshad Ahmed, Mohd Mateen reaches out to fire sufferers of Udeel Chatroo, Gagrimal Kakerwagan and Hawal Chatroo and took stock of the damages caused to people due to the devastating fire, that has engulfed three houses, grass and cattle’s within no time leaving the poor inhabitants high and dry.

Expressing deepest concern over the devastation caused, Congress leaders while terming the incidents as most unfortunate and highly painful assured the affected of every possible help from the Congress party especially from Congress MLA from Inderwal, G. M Saroori, who feels highly concerned about their rehabilitation. They told the fire sufferers that Mr. Saroori is committed to their rehabilitation and will do everything possible to ensure respite to them in this hour of distress.

Meanwhile, Mr. Saroori have condoled the demises of Alhaj Mohd Azeem Bhawani resident of Sigdi Bhata, Ghulam Abass Mir resident of Malipeth Kishtwar and Mohd Aslam son of Chowdhary Nathiya resident of Neju Saroor.

In his condolence message to bereaved families, the MLA Inderwal expressed sympathies with the bereaved families recalling the philanthropic and compassionate traits of the deceased’s.

J&K MLAs meet Kejriwal, seek details on initiatives





Visited government schools which has witnessed infrastructural revamp

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 02: - A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir legislators called on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and sought details about his government's initiatives in the fields of education and health.

The team of members from the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Ethics Committee including Legislators, Abdul Rahim Rather, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Abdul Majid Larmi and Neelam Kumar Langeh met Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat here. The visiting MLAs asked the Chief Minister about the implementation of free medicines and diagnostic tests scheme in government hospitals," it said.

The delegation also visited Delhi government school Sarvodya Bal Vidyalaya, Rouse Avenue ITO and took a round of the school. They saw the smart classrooms, modern sports facilities, multipurpose hall and other refurbished infrastructure of the school which has witnessed infrastructural revamp and met Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel
