G. M Saroori expressed grief over death of Aman Thakur



Condoled demises of Bablu Kichloo, Raj Din and Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 25: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed grief over the loss of Deputy Superintendent of JK Police Shri. Aman Thakur from Assar Doda, who was killed in an encounter in Kulgam on Sunday.

Mr. Saroori said that late Aman Thakur was known for his determination and valour. 

Paying rich tributes to late Thakur for his sacrifice made in the line of duty, Mr. Saroori said, Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving family at this critical juncture. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile Mr. Saroori has also condoled the demises of Bablu Ahmed Kichloo resident of Kishtwar, Raj Din son of Qasim Din resident of Mulwan Sarthal and Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh resident of Nagnigarh Keshwan who passed away recently. He has extended his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls besides this place for them in heaven.

Kishtwar, February 21: A 36 years old men identified as Sajjad Hussain son of Ghulam Mouhiuddin Rather resident of Kwath Durbeel area of Tehsil Mugalmaidan in Kishtwar District died in an accident at Kwath area after he fell from a hill in a landslide prone area.

As per the details, the deceased was on its way when he suddenly slipped as a result of which he died on spot. After hearing about the incident, the locals immediately rush to the spot and later retrieved his dead body from the incident site.

Police has also register a case in this regard.

Meanwhile Vice President JKPCC and Former Minister J&K, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Mr. Sajjad Hussain Rather.

In a condolence message, Saroori said “My heartfelt condolence to his family and loved ones. He expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. He has also urged Governor administration for immediate release of Rs.10 lakhs ex-gratia relief in favour of victims family.

Mr. Saroori has also condoled the demises of 8 months old Hatim Haroon Mattu son of Haroon Mattu resident of Thathri, Khateeja Begum wife of Ghulam Mohd Butt resident of  Nagnigar Keshwan, Khazer Mohd son of Rehman Sheikh resident of Kuchal, John Mohd son of Mohd Sultan resident of Tatani, Dien Mohd resident of Patnazi Bunjwah and Nagina Begum wife of Ghulam Nabi resident of Tatani Drabshalla who passed away recently. He has extended his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls besides this place for them in heaven

Several deputations met Saroori at Kishtwar apprised him day to day problems being faced by people

KISHTWAR//Several deputations from Sub-division Chatroo, Kishtwar, Thakrie, Drabshalla, Sarthal, Bunjwah, Thathri, Kahara, Jakyas, Gandoh areas met Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and apprised him about their day to day problems pertaining to their areas. 

The problems which were highlighted included availability of life saving medicines, availability of kerosene oil, LPG, ration, besides also thrust on restoration of various links road which are closed due to heavy snowfall, restoration of electricity and replacement of gutted transformer, early clearance of payment to job card holders under MGNREGA and IHHL scheme and better drinking water facility.

Mr. Saroori heard the deputation patiently and telephonically he took the people’s problem with Advisors to Governor who assured him for early restoration of all the basic amenities at an earliest. He also assured the people that will also take up these issues vigorously with the State government and assured that he will leave no stone unturned for early redressal of the genuine demands.

He also holds the meeting with the Presidents of various Block Congress Committee of Inderwal constituency. While addressing the party meeting he reiterated to resolve of his party to restore peace, tranquility and development in Jammu and Kashmir, Saroori said Congress has earned faith and credibility through its convictions and commitments.

Mr. Saroori said getting power is not the only agenda of Congress, our party’s motive to change destiny of the people and to establish a system of justice and equality in Jammu and Kashmir”, he said and added that Congress had changed political discourse of the State and restored dignity and honour of the people Jammu and Kashmir. “Our party, through its pro-peace policies, has consolidated reconciliation process and facilitated the efforts of establishing lasting peace in this region”, Saroori said but regretted that the BJP government has derailed the whole process of peace and development. “Prevailing chaos and instability is outcome of the wrong policies of the BJP”, he said but asserted that Congress would continue to work for peace and stability in this region.

G. M Saroori condemns attack in Awantipora Pulwama

Appeals for maintaining societal and communal harmony
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 16: Former Congress Minister J&K, G. M Saroori has condemned the recent attack in the Awantipora area of Pulwama district where at least 45 CRPF personnel's were killed and several others were injured.

“Deeply saddened by the killing of so many CRPF jawans in the attack in Pulwama district and no amount of words can express their grief. I strongly condemn the attack and condolences to the bereaved families.”

Congress Leader has also appealed for maintaining societal and communal harmony and asked people not to play into the hands of anti national elements. He has also appealed people not to play into the hands of anti- national elements. “They want to disturb our societal harmony. Defeat their designs. Don’t get provoked. Maintain calm,” Saroori said

Congress urge Governor’s admin to resolve issues of NHM employees of J&K

 
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 18: Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori have urged the Governor’s administration to fulfill the long pending demands of the National Health Mission (NHM) employees.

Mr. Saroori expressed surprise over the administration sending termination threats to agitating NHM employees. “These threats are highly deplorable on the part of Governor administration and said that such orders won’t solve the issue but will rather complicate it.

He said that NHM employees have been rendering their services with dedication, honesty and have battled all odds in catering to the medical needs of the patients hailing from hilly and far flung areas of the state.

 “Governor’s administration should met their demands without any further delay,” Saroori added.

Congress leaders condole demise of Ghulam Ali Bhatt


Jammu, February 14: Leader of Opposition In Rajya Sabha, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad and Senior Leaders on Thursday expressed grief over the demise of Mr Ghulam Ali Bhatt (65), who was a retired Block Development Officer, son of Mohammad Sharief Bhatt, resident of Mohalla Qila Bhaderwah.

Sorry to hear about the demise of Ghulam Ali Bhatt Sb. He was simple person easy to get along with and totally dedicated to his job”. He appreciated the significant contributions made by the officer at various posts. My heartfelt condolence to his family & loved ones and prayed for peace to the departed soul,” Mr Azad said in a condolence message.

Vice Presidenf JKPCC Mr Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Executive Member JKPCC Mr Mohammed Sharief Niaz, General Secretary JKPCC Abdul Majid Wani, Mr Naresh Kumar Gupta-MLC have also expressed grief over the passing away of Mr Ghulam Ali Bhatt and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

The other leaders who have condoled the demise of Mr Ghulam Ali Bhatt include Sheikh Mujeeb-President DCC Doda, Javed Ahmed Azad, Ghulam Mustafa Butt, Sharik Ahmed Saroori, Asgar Hussain Khangi, Chowdhary Farooq Ahmed, Mohd Yunus Malik, Ashok Sharma, Mohd Ashraf Malik and others. Saroori's concern over lack of essential commodities in snow bound areas






Govt urged to ensure ration, power, water supply



JAMMU, February 09: Senior Congress leader and party vice president, G. M Saroori expressed his serious concern over problems being faced by the people in snow bound areas of Jammu region especially in erstwhile Doda district.



The Congress leader while meeting with several deputations from various areas of Kishtwar and Doda districts said people in hilly belt especially in snow bound Inderwal Constituency of Kishtwar district are facing scarcity of ration as the Government has failed to ensure and dump the adequate ration on the ration depots in the Assembly segment.



Saroori said the roads are cut off for last several days due to heavy snowfall and there are no means of supplying ration to the ration depots under prevailing circumstances as administration has failed to make preemptive arrangements in the area.



He said the prevailing ration crisis coupled with power failure and water scarcity has added to the woes of people in this hilly belt and the administration is looking as a mute spectator to this problem. He demanded that restoration of power and water supply in the area be made on war footing basis. Besides, all steps be taken in ensuring ration supply in the Constituency and other areas of erstwhile Doda district, he added.



Saroori, while taking a dig at PDD said over 25 transformers alone in Inderwal Constituency are fully damaged and no steps have been taken to restore them with the result the power crisis in the Constituency have deepened.



He further alleged that despite his repeated pleas to the authorities they failed to restore the transformers and keeping some more transformers stand by in case of emergency so that people are not made to suffer. He also termed the replacement and installation of transformers in farflung areas a big scam saying over Rs 50,000 are charged for loading and unloading of a transformer which needs a thorough probe.



The Congress Leader, made an appeal to Governor, Satya Pal Malik to take stock of the situation in snowbound areas which remained cut off from rest of the State for a week now and issue directives to the administration to ensure immediate supply of essential commodities in these areas so that the people are not put to more hardships. He demanded that essential commodities like ration and Kerosene Oil supply be maintained in these areas without further delay

KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 10: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of 12 years-old Karan Singh, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Drubeel, in Mugalmaidan tehsil of Kishtwar district who died after was hit by snow avalanche on Thursday night.



Mr. Saroori has conveyed his deepest condolence & sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace & strength to the departed soul. 



He described the loss of live as very unfortunate, saying that he has no words to express grief. He has also urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to release Rs.10 lakhs as ex-gratia relief in favour of family members of Karan Singh.



It is to mention here that the boy Karan Singh went missing after avalanche hit the village. The body of the boy could be retrieved on Friday morning. Karan Singh went missing while returning from a marriage function Thursday night.



Meanwhile Mr. Saroori also visited the Kulligad area of Drabshalla which was closed since past two days due to heavy snowfall and supervises the opening of Kishtwar-Thathri national highway. The road was later thrown open for the traffic.
