KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 10:
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam
Mohammad Saroori expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of 12
years-old Karan Singh, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Drubeel, in Mugalmaidan
tehsil of Kishtwar district who died after was hit by snow avalanche on
Thursday night.
Mr. Saroori has
conveyed his deepest condolence & sympathy with the bereaved family and
prayed for eternal peace & strength to the departed soul.
He described the loss
of live as very unfortunate, saying that he has no words to express grief. He
has also urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to release Rs.10 lakhs as ex-gratia
relief in favour of family members of Karan Singh.
It is to mention here
that the boy Karan Singh went missing after avalanche hit the village. The body
of the boy could be retrieved on Friday morning. Karan Singh went missing while
returning from a marriage function Thursday night.
Meanwhile Mr. Saroori
also visited the Kulligad area of Drabshalla which was closed since past two
days due to heavy snowfall and supervises the opening of Kishtwar-Thathri
national highway. The road was later thrown open for the traffic.
