Saroori greets people on Ramadhan


Ensure adequate supply of electricity, drinking water and rations: Saroori to administration

KISHTWAR, APRIL 24: - Former Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, G. M Saroori today felicitated people on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, commencement of holy month of Ramadan.

“With the start of the holy month of Ramadan, I extend felicitations to the people of my state,” Saroori said in a message.

He said, ''Ramadan fast teaches us to practice piety, self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, tolerance, justice and empathy for the less fortunate in society. Let us reflect on these lessons during the 30 days fasting period.”

Saroori urged for heeding the true Islamic teachings of peace, unity and integrity for the larger good of the mankind. “I pray to Almighty Allah to make this sacred month a positively new beginning in our individual and collective lives,” he said, adding “I wish and pray that this month becomes a harbinger of peace and prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir and its people and ends their miseries during this awful situation that arises due to Coronavirus.”

“This is also a time to remember our elders, sisters and brothers in distress and reach out to them with whatever possible way could be done,” Saroori said.

The Former Minister also urged to the Power Development Department (PDD), Public Health Engineering (PHE) department and the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Department to ensure adequate supply of electricity, drinking water and rations during the holy month. He further urged government to ensure release of wages of daily wage labourers posted in different departments.
