Youth Congress demanded compensation to Kwar-Tanji land owners



Lambast at PDP leader for misleading the people of Inderwal

Kishtwar, January 21: - Youth Congress leaders from Inderwal constituency demanded early distribution of free ration to the “Chula Parchi” consumer which the state government have announced that government will provide six months free ration to the flood affected areas in Inderwal Assembly segment.


In a joint statement by Mohammad Latief Mughal, Sheikh Basharat, Chowdhary Yaseen, Farooq Ahmed, Asif Iqbal Butt, Arzoo Keen, Ahamer Sehzad, Irshad Ahmed, Zakir Hussain, Shahnawaz Ahmed, Javed Rana, Kabir Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Manoj Kumar, Mohd Rafiq and others said that Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department has distributed free ration to the consumers but the Chula Parchi consumer were also promised free rations after the floods wreaked havoc and damaged the standing crops in Inderwal.


They said from the past five months Chula parchi consumers have not received a single grain of that ration and they have lost 90 percent of yield and all the maize fields got destroyed due to massive soil erosion by the flood. Now they are totally dependent on government ration," the Youth leaders from Inderwal said.


Congress Youth Leaders have alleged that despite repeatedly pleading to the officials of the CAPD Department, the people of Chatroo, Chingam, Kuchal, Mugalmaidan, Thakrie, Keshwan, Sarthal, Saroor, Drabshalla, Thathri, Kontwara, Jakyas, Bunjwah, Bhalessa, Khara, Kishtwar and other parts have "not received" any ration for the Chula Parchi consumers.


They have appealed to the CAPD department to provide free ration to Chula Parchi people immediately and have requested MLA Inderwal, G. M. Saroori to take up this matter with higher authorities of CAPD as well.


They have also lambast at PDP leader from Inderwal, Abdul Majid Butt for misleading the people of Inderwal constituency through his press statement. They said people of Inderwal have already given a befitting reply to Butt and he is frustrated by his humiliating defeat in recent election and now he is issuing baseless statements.


Meanwhile Congress Youth Leader from Kishtwar, Randeep Bhandari, demanded early compensation to the people of Kwar-Tanji Nasgesni, Kishtwar District who had given their land for the construction of ‘reservoir of Dul Hast Hydroelectric Plant’ project, but have not been given promised compensation by the state government.


Criticizing the centre government, Bhandari said it is a matter of great concern that people that under order on SDM/LA/911-16 on 17.01.07 gave their 213 kanals and 02 marlas land for the construction of reservoir of Dul Hasti Power Project had not been compensated, despite the fact that the project has been completed from last more than five years and is generating crore of rupee.


He requested the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner Secretary Finance J&K and DDC Kishtwar to personally look into the matter and release the compensation as early as possible.


Youth Congress Indewal and Kishtwar have also urged State Governor, NN Vohra to announce a decrease in transport fares in the interest of the general public across Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of an unprecedented fall in the price of diesel.
