PDP-BJP Government has “failed” to implement equitable development
CHATROO, DECEMBER 04: - Underlining the huge development deficit faced by Chenab Valley region, Indian National Congress (INC) Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said the present coalition has only worsened the situation for the residents of the mountainous areas over the past one year.
Saroori was addressing a well attended public meeting at Guri Nallah area of sub-division Chatroo in district Kishtwar here today he claimed that people of the State were looking towards the party to replace the PDP-BJP Coalition Government, which it claimed has “failed” to implement equitable development agenda.
Alleging that PDP-BJP coalition has failed to carry forward the equitable development agenda, Saroori said Congress will formulate a comprehensive policy for inclusive growth of the State. “It is the desire of all the Congressmen to establish a system where every section of the society would get justice and equal opportunities for development and economic growth,” he said.
“Miserable condition at the district hospital Kishtwar it was easy to imagine how people in distant and inaccessible areas could be facing disease and ailments” Saroori said and added that the area being prone to road accidents and natural calamities needed state of the art medical facilities but unfortunately those who are in power with the strength drawn from this region would reappear only at the time of next elections with another bundle of promises and go back to their own world.
Calling upon party workers to launch a war against PDP-BJP coalition for its failure to solve basic problems of the common masses, Saroori said that the present dispensation has failed on all fronts and woes of commoners have been mounting due to anti-people policies being propagated by this regime. He said that coalition government was nothing but an arrangement between two parties to brazenly enjoy the power. He said that under development in this belt was a clear indication that this Government was non-serious towards solving problems of the people. He called upon his party workers to educate the masses to about the revolutionary steps which was taken by Ghulam Nabi Azad during his tenure as Chief Minister of the State.
Saroori also took stock of people’s problems of Guri Nalla and Singpore areas of Chatroo, besides developmental needs. The MLA Inderwal was accompanied by BDO Chatroo Subuh Shad, DFO Marwah Vikay Kumar, TSO Chatroo Tariq Munshi and a team of senior officers of PDD, PHE, RDD departments. Several deputations met Saroori during his visit and apprised him about their individual and collective problems. The main demands raised by the locals included repairs and renovation of link roads, lanes, drains, replacing of damaged electric poles, transformers, MGNREGA payment on time, early completion of Guri Nallah road, bridge over the river and others problems. Many issues were solved by the MLA Inderwal on the spot by directing the concerned authorities to redress the problem immediately.
Congress leaders Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Kohli, Altah Hussain Malik, Tariq Wani, Sunavullah Sheikh, Chowdhary Qasim Din, Krishan Lal Bhagat, Mohan Lal Pandit, Chowdhary Peer Bakhsh, Noor Din, Mohd Amin Naik, Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Abdul Rashid, Ghulam Nabi, Abdul Rehman Special also addressed the meeting besides people in large were present on the occasion.
