Saroori inaugurates blacktopping work on Kahara-Tanta road

TANTA, APRIL 30: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori kick started the blacktopping works on 10 kms long Kahara to Tanta road to be executed at an estimated cost of Rs. 9 crores under PMGSY scheme.

Saroori was accompanied by Executive Engineer PWD, PMGSY, Revenue, RDD, PHE, CAPD officials besides all the local Congress leaders accompanied him during the said tour.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saroori highlighted the importance of road network in the areas and said that the stretch would provide relief to the locals of Kahara, Tanta and its adjoining areas besides improving the economy of the area. He said that he as MLA has taken various path breaking initiatives for providing basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps and special stress is being laid on improving road connectivity in rural and far-flung areas in Inderwal constituency.

Saroori also announced the construction of road from Tanta to Draman via Kuthal to be executed by R&B department at a cost of Rs. 8 crores. He also inspected the Kahara Trankhle road which will be thrown open for the public within a month time and said that the impact of the development works in Inderwal is visible on ground. He assured the people that all link and major roads in Inderwal constituency will be upgraded in a phased manner. He also asked the concerned authorities to complete all ongoing developmental works in a time bound manner and clear all the landslides on Trankhle road which will be thrown open within a month time. He also highlighted the other developmental initiatives underway in the area and said that the concerned executing agencies have been directed to ensure time bound completion of the works with strict adherence to the quality norms. He also exhorted upon the people to actively partake in the developmental process to achieve tangible results on ground.

MLA Inderwal also met various deputations from Kahara, Tanta, Kashithava, Grath Nallah, Ganoni, Kuthal, Dhurasery, Dhanora, Tharyan, Bagran, Magray, Wani mohalla’s, Bitola, Kencha, Banjora, Bagdeyr, Nagni, Khanday, Paray, Mir and Astanabad mohalla’s and assured them that their genuine demands would be addressed on high priority.

Later Mr. Saroori also attended the annual function day of Madrasa Tanta, he gave a word of advice to students, parents and general public. He said students, children’s have religious needs and madrasas can fulfill not only religious needs but also provide free education. He said if anyone really wants to know how good Islam is, he or she has to study its authentic sources; the glorious Quran and Hadith rather than looking to its followers. "The best exemplary Muslim is the last and final messenger Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)." He said in Tanta Madrasa where hundreds of students will get Deeni education and praises the efforts of management of Madrasa Tanta for starting the Deeni education to hundreds of students and hoped that the Madrasa will continue to do so for the future time as well.

KISHTWAR, APRIL 28: - J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that Congress Party is committed to equitable development of all the three regions and it will continue to remain steadfast to serve the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh equally. Saroori said this while meeting with Congress workers here at his residence Kishtwar.

Saroori said Congress party is committed to fight against discrimination against people and is committed to resolve issues concerning people of the State. The Coalition Govt of PDP-BJP which has secured vote due to polarization has added woes to people after securing votes from them. They people of the State have realized that their vote has gone against them, as the promises made by both Coalition Partners have fallen flat.

Castigating PDP BJP Coalition for adopting non-serious approach about the wellbeing of the people, Saroori said due to the contradiction in the approach of the PDP BJP Coalition, State is facing difficult situation, leaving people in all the three regions in isolation, there is sign of improvement on the ground only on officials statement from the Govt are pouring in, he said.

Saroori lashed out at Coalition for failing to address the genuine concerns of the people, besides the mis-governance and mismanagement on their Govt has added miseries to people. I want to ask both PDP-BJP coalition government, how many promises made by them during their election campaign were fulfilled, Saroori questioned. Congress Party is committed to resolution of the issues concerning people and it will continue to fight against discrimination against any region of the State. He said the performance of the Coalition Govt on ground is zero, for the fact, there was no improvement on ground in any Sector, unemployment has risen considerably, Govt Departments are not functioning in way they should, and as a result, the day today needs of the people remain un-attended & unaddressed. He told the Party cadres to remain connected with the people and get to know the problems they are facing, as it is our bounden duty to struggle and fight for resolution of the issue concerning people.

On the recent statement issued by Deputy Chief Minister regarding the electrification of five no of districts under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana and RGGVY phase II schemes but in reality the government claims to have “electrified” these five districts are only on papers. He also lambasted PDP-BJP Government for its inability to initiate the RGGVY phase II and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna in Jammu and Kashmir, saying this proves beyond doubt the incompetence and lack of bandwidth of the present dispensation to carry forward so-called developmental agenda in the state. He further added that with these schemes all the electricity problem not only of Inderwal constituency but of whole Chenab valley will get solved that will give sigh of relief to the common masses of rural and far flung areas.

KISHTWAR, APRIL 22: - Vice President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has condoled the demises of Naseema Begum wife of senior Congress leader from Kishtwar, Mohd Aslam Malik, Jana Begum wife of Ahamdu resident of Kwath Durbeel, Munshi Ram son of Dina Nath resident of Rahal Mugalmaidan, Roshan Lal Parihar son of Dev Chand Parihar resident of Shanna Thakrie and Mubina Wani daughter of Manzoor Ahmed Wani resident of Bhalessa who passed away recently. 

In his condolence message to bereaved families, the MLA Inderwal expressed sympathies with the bereaved families recalling the philanthropic and compassionate traits of the deceased’s.

Mr. Saroori has prayed Almighty Allah for granting solace to the departed souls and courage to the family of the deceased’s to bear with the loss.

Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anatnag road yet to clear for traffic

Calls upon CM JK for blacktopping on Kishtwar Sinthan road: Saroori

KISHTWAR, APRIL 25: - Jammu and Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today showed his displeasure over the delay in opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan National Highway connecting Kishtwar District of Jammu province with summer capital Srinagar.

In a press statement issued here today, Saroori said that all important roads’ including Mughal Raod has been cleared for the traffic by clearing snow from these roads, but only Kishtwar-Sinthan road is yet to be opened. He said that during Congress regime, this road was thrown open in March ending added that this year witnessed lowest snowfall as compared to many previous years.

Saroori said that on public request, he used its own resources to clear the road from Chatroo to one kilometer ahead of Aloo farm, Sinthan to which the People of sub-division Chatroo have expressed gratitude to the MLA Inderwal for using his own resources for opening of the road till Aloo farm Sinthan. The local people said that with the opening of this road till Aloo farm Sinthan, there will be a huge flow of local as well as foreign tourists as this route is attractive for tourists.

He (Saroori) said that he has also taken up the matter with Managing Director National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation of India (NHIDCL) who assured him that the snow clearance work will be completed within a week’s time. He also urged upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to begin the process of black toping of the road so that all formalities with regard to the project will be completed well on time for smooth execution of black toping work during this year peak summer days from Sinthan top towards Kishtwar side.

Saroori said during the current financial year the blacktopping work from km 172 to Sinthan top would be completed which has already been awarded to Kashmir based company M/s Khanday construction. He also called upon the government for blacktopping from Kishtwar-to Aallo farm, Sinthan so that better road connectivity could be provided to the people of Kishtwar District. He said that the government should also start the work on execution for construction of Singpora-Vailoo tunnel on which CM Mehbooba Mufti also conveyed to the people during her public outreach program at Kishtwar that government is working on modalities to construct Singpora-Viloo tunnel.

Congress lawmaker further said that Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road will become the life line for the people living on both side viz Kishtwar and Anantnag District of Kashmir beside will also improve the socio-economic condition of the people as well as increase the trade.

Joint house committee meeting reviews functioning of GMC, associated hospitals


Sanitation and other health care issues need to be addressed immediately

JAMMU, APRIL 21: - A meeting of the Joint House Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council reviewed the functioning of Government Medical College, Jammu and associated hospitals. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of MLC, Ghulam Nabi Monga.

Legislators, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Dr Shehnaz Ganai, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Vikram Randhawa and Charanjeet Singh attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions for further improving health care facilities in these health institutions.

The Committee observed that the sanitation and other health care issues need to be addressed immediately and asked for action to be taken up in this regard.

It was decided in the meeting that the Committee will visit the Government Medical College Jammu, Super Specialty Hospital and SMGS Hospital Jammu to take stock of existing healthcare infrastructure and other facilities in these hospitals.

Among others, Special Secretary, Legislative Council, Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Deputy Secretary, Council, Ali Mohammad Rawat besides other senior officers and officials were also present in the meeting.

Saroori demanded SIT to probe torture of Kishtwar youth by Police



Third degree torture to Akhtar Hussain from Sarawan village by Kishtwar police

JAMMU, APRIL 19: - Coming down heavily on the Police for alleged third degree torture to Akhtar Hussain son of Ali Mohammad Hajam resident of Keshwan village of Thakrie, Kishtwar District, the Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori demanded an inquiry into the role of few police officials in a gruesome crime.

While talking to media persons last night at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Saroori said injuries suffered by Akhtar Hussain is during interrogation in police custody at Kishtwar Police Station. He was picked up by Police in connection with the missing person from Sarawan namely Tariq Hussain son of Ghulam Rasool added that this is nothing but creating terror among common masses. 

Saroori said that he (Akhtar Hussain) was picked up by the police on March 18th from Keswan village and was released on 7th April and again on 11th April he was picked up for the interrogation. When Akhtar Hussain became unconscious in Police station Kishtwar the worried police officials shifted him to the district hospital Kishtwar where Doctor referred him to GMC Jammu.

MLA Inderwal also visited the GMC hospital Jammu to see the Akhtar Hussain, his condition is serious and is on death bed. He called upon the government to constitute the Special Investigation Team to probe the allegations and fixed the responsibility on guilty police officers involved in this act. He said that government should also consider judicial probe into the matter in which senior police officers are under scanner.

People of Chatroo Sub Division asked CAPD Minister to fulfill its promise on BPL Ration



Mugalmaidan, April 18: - The people of Chatroo Sub Division including Mugalmaidan Tehsil has showed its anger and outrage towards the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CAPD) for their failure to adhere to the promise made by the Minister concern Chowdhary Zulfikar Ali during his last February visit to Chatroo area wherein the Minister has assured the people that being as a poor and far flung area, the government will provide them the ration in the ration of 90 (BPL): 10 (Priority) bases for which the department along with officials of Revenue Department has prepared the list in 2015.

The people turn outrageous and angry after they find that the administration has reverse the list and fix the list in the ration of 60:40 % ratio as a result of which many poor and deserving people were left out of the BPL list.

The angry people said that after the assurance from Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department during his visit to Chatroo area, the people of the area feels happy with the decision of the minister that will ensure the ration to every poor BPL family added that to their disappointment the list submitted by the officials of Food Department and the Revenue Department was based on 60:40 ratio which has cause a great resentment among the local people who calls on the authorities to fulfill the promises made by the concern Minister during public outreach. 

They said that they even moved to the office of Tehsildar Mughal Maidan wherein the revenue officials as well as the officials of the food department including concern Tehsil Supply Officer was also present. They said that all the officials shows helplessness in changing the list with the explanation that same has been prepared as per the intimation of the senior officials.

The people allege that BPL Quota of ration cards kept for Chatroo sub division was shifted to other parts of the District due to political interference. The people said that they have no concern with other parts of the District where more ratio of BPL Ration quota was given to the people added that they want that deserving people of Chatroo Sub Division too should be given the same benefits as more than 90% population in Chatroo Sub Division is poor based of SC/ST category and called upon the authorities to immediately revoke the list and provide the ration to the people in the ratio of 90:10%.

They said that in case the government and administration fails to provide justice to the people of Chatroo Sub Division, they will come on roads against this fresh harassment inflicted by the government on the poor people of this backward area.

Congress holds massive protest in support of SC/ST communities in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, APRIL 07: - Congress Party staged a protest at district headquarter here in Kishtwar against the failure of BJP led government in preventing to dilute the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act through a Supreme Court order.

Led by Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammed Saroori, a large number of Congress workers gathered at Dak Bungalow Kishtwar and marched towards the old DC office Kishtwar. They were shouting slogans against the centre and state government, denouncing the move to dilute the Act, enacted to protect the interest of the SC, ST people.

Addressing party workers there, Saroori said the Congress has always stood firmly in support of issues that concern the depressed classes. He said that the SC/ST Act was passed under the prime ministership of Rajiv Gandhi to protect the SC and ST community from atrocities and presently party chief Rahul Gandhi is raising his voice on these issues.

"Dalits, SCs, Gujjars, nomad communities are facing distress and many families stand devastated because of the atrocities committed on them," he said and added that government not committed to ensuring the welfare of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and the underprivileged sections of the society. He said that Congress party have already asked the Centre to either bring an amendment to the said law or file a curative petition before the Supreme Court but till date no concrete steps have been made by the government. On the one side BJP-RSS ideology of dividing the country, spreading anger and hate, other side ideology of brotherhood, love and peace by Congress party. RSS and BJP's thinking is different from Congress.

Saroori also said that PDP-BJP coalition government has totally failed to address the problems of the people of the state including Pani, Bijli and Sarak. "Since they (BJP-PDP) joined hands, the miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have increased manifolds. While the BJP cheated people of Jammu, the people of Kashmir were cheated by the PDP," Saroori said. He said that all the promises made to the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled. "More than three and half years have passed but they have failed to fulfill any of the promises, be it the problems faced by the rural residents, 7th pay commission, be it the problems faced by the farmers, be it the problems of Kashmiri people, be it issue of providing basic essential things.

The slogans of ‘Change’ and ‘Ache-Din’ of PDP and BJP have proven a hoax as they have failed on all fronts. The inherent contradiction within the alliance has brought the state to chaos and confusion. The two parties have been attempting to polarise situation in the state to hide their failures on governance front,” Saroori said.

Among others Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Mahinder Singh Parihar, Haji Ghulam Mohd Kohli, Mohd Iqbal Keen, Chowdhary Farooq Ahmed, Chowdhary Ishaq, Asgar Hussain Khangi, Firdous Ahmed Mingnoo, Waseem Maker, Waseem Sajjad Saroori, have also addressed the protestors. They said in the wake of the Supreme Court order diluting the provisions of the SC/ST Act, the Narendra Modi government showed none of the sense of urgency which was on display during the triple talaq issue", the Congress leaders alleged.

Demanded GDC for Bunjwah; setting of fire service station at Chatroo

Adequate funds for development activities in Inderwal; Raises various public related issues

KISHTWAR, APRIL 05: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today walkout from the district development board meeting Kishtwar against the PDP-BJP coalition government’s decision to allow non-state subject to open pharmacy shop in Kishtwar hospital which is in violation of the Article 370, which guarantees special status to the state.

“On one hand, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti describes people opposing Article 370 as “anti-nationals” and on the other hand, her government is permitting a non-state subject to set up pharmacy shops in the Kishtwar District of Jammu region,” he said.

Saroori urged Minister for Health and family welfare Bali Bhagat who is also a Chairman of DDB in Kishtwar District for early revoking of the order issued by government in allowing non-state subject to open medical shop in Kishtwar hospital.

He also highlighted many public related issues in the DDB meeting of Kishtwar district which was chaired by Minister for Health Bali Bhagat. He had projected various new initiatives, problems and demands during the DDB meeting which include early clearance of snow on Kishtwar-Sinthan road which the present government and administration totally failed to do any concrete steps in opening of the prestigious road which connects Kishtwar with Srinagar, demanded to give the case to vigilance department for the fraud done by the Horticulture department in regard to the fraudulently cases of fruit bearing compensation has been made on various link roads of Kishtwar PMGSY block, early construction of TRC at Sarthal for which Congress led government has approved the funds but the acquisition of the said building is pending, he demanded early clearance of land documents for the further construction of the TRC, early set up of dumping site for soil waste management at Kishtwar.

Saroori further demanded sanctioning of Degree College for Bunjwah, saying this is imperative for expanding the reach of higher and professional education in remote parts of the Chenab Valley, to which the board recommend the higher authority to sanction the said College, filling of vacant posts of Doctors and other staff in health institutions, functioning of all new type PHC’s in Inderwal including Sigdi, Chingam, Mugalmaidan, Chatroo, Rahalthal, Sarthal, Patnazi, Bunjwah, Drabshalla and Patshalla. He called for improvement in power supply scenario in Inderwal besides this to take steps in augmentation of water supply schemes in Chingam, Inderwal, Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Sigdi, Kuchal, Durbeel, Loidhar, Kuriya, Thakrie, Sarawan, Keshwan, Sarthal, Saroor, Drabshalla, Patnazi, Bunjwah, Kontwara, Kandani areas and for providing adequate drinking water facility in rural and far flung areas of Inderwal. Also demanded for preparation of DPR under various new water supply schemes including Diccher, Dundwar Balana, Moori Balgran, Ghrat Nallah Bhata, construction of protection walls in Chatroo Nallah, Bonda Nallah, Sigdi Nallah and Sarthal Nallah, funds for completion of hatchery at Sigdi and Bhagra Sarthal, completion of various incomplete Dak Bungalows and bridges which requires funds for the completion in R&B division Chatroo and Kishtwar,

MLA Inderwal also demanded speeding up of various ongoing development works in his constituency including construction of Degree College at Chatroo, construction of receiving station at Bunjwah, completion of NABARD roads including Kandani Bhagran, Drabshalla Dugga, Shrouti Bangar, Moharwari to Gamra roads, early completion of Rs 7 crores tourism project for Inderwal Sinthan and demanded release of adequate funds for repairment of school buildings in Inderwal, Kishtwar and Drabshalla education zones of Inderwal constituency, setting up of well equipped fire service station at Chatroo, clearance of MGNREGA, IHHL liabilities, opening of new sheep and animal husbandry centres, early commission of RGGVY phase II and DDUY schemes which will provide electricity in all the households of rural and far flung areas of Inderwal and early blacktopping on Bunjwah and Saroor roads the project of both these vital roads have recently been forwarded to higher authorities under PMGSY up gradation for sanctioning.

The Chairman of the DDB meeting directed the concern officers to take appropriate action in this regard with shortest possible time.

G. M Saroori condole demises of Saif Ali Khan, Mohd Haneef Magray and Mohd Ramzan

KISHTWAR, APRIL 03: - State Congress Vice president and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demises of JK Police constable namely Saif Ali Son of Ali Sain Khan resident of Bamboo area of Batyas who died in a car accident near Banihal area, Mohd Haneef Magray father of Youth Congress leader from Tanta Kahara Mushtaq Ahmed Magray and Mohd Ramzan resident of Chabba.

In a condolence message to the families, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed his solidarity and has conveyed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families. He prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed souls beside place for them in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.

Meanwhile all the Congress leaders, Youth Congress leaders, and members of Batyas, Kahara and Drabshalal have also condoled the demises of Saif Ali Khan, Mohd Haneef Magray and Mohd Ramzan.

THATHRI, APRIL 02: - The Rogi Kalyan Samiti for health Institutes of Thahtri today approved various facilities for the healthcare Centers of the constituency.

The RKS meeting chaired by the Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori discussed in details the requirements for the CHC, Thathri and other health institutions falling in Thathri area.

BMO Thathri, senior officers of Health department, Public works, Members, officers of different departments, senior citizens also attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken in the previous meeting and other requirements to further improve the healthcare in these centres. The BMO of the Hospital apprised the MLA about the physical and financial achievements for the year 2017-18 along with income expenditure report and balance sheet. The agenda of the meeting which included various welfare steps for the benefit of patients and also steps to upgrade the facilities available in the hospital were reviewed in detail by the MLA Inderwal.

Emphasizing on providing best Medicare facilities to the patients particularly those coming from the remote and inaccessible parts of the erstwhile district Doda, Saroori asked the medicos to work with missionary zeal and ensure timely medical assistance to every sufferer. He directed for expediting the pace of ongoing works and ensuring regular follow up of decisions taken in Samiti meetings to improve the functioning of health institutions. Stressing that it is imperative for health institutions to provide better health services to the patients, Saroori called for concerted efforts to minimize the number of referral cases to other health institutions.

On the occasion, MLA Inderwal announced computer, printer for establishment section, lockers, microscope for lab section, suction machine for lab section, white wash and renovation of hospital building, inverters for the hospital, and other furniture materials required in the hospital.

Earlier, Mr. Saroori visited the house of Nissar Ahmed Khan, Fatima Begum both resident of Khanpura who recently died in an accident in Khanpura Thathri. He also visited Upper Thathri and Delhoti Drabshalla areas to personally condole the demises of wife of Bashir Ahmed Butt and wife of Nazir Ahmed Koka respectively. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and strength and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss. He also console with the bereaved families.

Later, Senior Bhartiya Janta Party leader from Moori, shri Vaid Lal and PDP’s senior leader and former member panchayat Zella Chatroo, Chowdhary Jalal Din and many political activists from Angara Sarthal area joined the Congress party. A function was organized at MLA Inderwal residence to welcome them into the party fold. Welcoming the new entrants, Saroori said their joining the party would further strengthen the Congress party and said "It is high time to further spread message of the party in every village and hamlet of Jammu and Kashmir particularly erstwhile district Doda," he said and asserted that policies and programmes of the party were formulated by incorporating wishes of every section of the society.
