Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag highway to open on May 15th: Saroori





Road till Sinthan Maidan thrown open for traffic

KISHTWAR, APRIL 28: - Former Minister J&K, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that with the snow clearance work on Kishtwar-Sinthantop-Anantnag national highway going on in full swing, the road will be thrown open for vehicular movement on May 15th. As today the road has been opened till Sinthan Maidan.

Mr. Saroori said that after opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan road, it will make shortest road connectivity between the people District Doda and Kishtwar with summer capital Srinagar.

He appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to visit the Sinthan which would boost the tourism in the area. “Increase in tourist traffic will resuscitate the economy of poor people of the area as it is the only source of income for them and also the beauty of Sinthan will be highlighted in a positive way,” he said.

Mr. Saroori also urged District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Mr. Angrez Singh Rana to direct officials of Kishtwar development authority (KDA) and ensure to make all the restaurants from Mugalmaidan to Sinthan Top functional and provide best service to the tourists.

Several political activists joined Congress in Inderwal






Congress is the voice of people: Saroori

KISHTWAR, APRIL 27: - Several political activists turned its back to the exploitation politics of the opposition parties in Inderwal and joined Congress party in presence of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.

Welcoming the newly joined workers into the party, Mr. Saroori said that Congress is the voice of people and has always stood for the people and will continue to represent the aspirations of all the sections of the society.

Mr. Saroori described the joining into Congress fold as yearning among cross section of people to join Congress, a living symbol of secular credentials. He urged the party workers to fan out in their respective areas, identify problems of the people and seek their redressal at appropriate forums.

Congress state Vice President hoped that their joining into party fold, the Congress party would be further strengthened in Inderwal area at grass roots level.

Newly joined entrants attributed their joining Congress to the miserable attitude of opposition parties in Inderwal towards public concerns adding that these parties are only in search of occasions to ignite tension between various sections of the society by exploiting their sentiments on one or the other pretext.

“These parties when in power did nothing to ameliorate the lot of people especially living in far-flung and remote areas. Its leadership are only interested in grabbing power for vested interests” they alleged. They said that the lucidity and truthfulness in the politics of Congress and the dynamism of Ghulam Nabi Azad former Chief Minister J&K during his tenure as CM seek equitable development, peace and prosperity for the State and its people, have made them to join Congress and work for the welfare of people of Doda-Kishtwar areas by G. M Saroori. They said that the Ghulam Nabi Azad is the ‘hope of rural areas’ and Congress believes in practical actions rather than slogan raising.

G. M Saroori grieved over Piyakul Kahara accident



Provide adequate ex-gratia relief of Rs. 10 lakhs each in favour of the deceased family members

Kishtwar, April 24: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and Former Minister, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today expressed shock and deep grief over the loss of five precious lives in a tragic accident which took place on Wednesday near Piyakul on Thathri-Kilhotran road.

After hearing the news Mr. Saroori who was in Kishtwar rushed to the spot and monitored the rescue operation, “My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their dear ones in an unfortunate accident”, Mr. Saroori said while expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, praying for strength to them to bear this irreparable loss. He also prayed for peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in a heaven.

Mr. Saroori has urged Governor J&K Satya Pal Malik and his administration to take effective steps to check road accidents and pass the directions to the traffic department to take adequate and stringent measures to check the recurrence of road accidents. He also urged the Governor to provide adequate ex-gratia relief of Rs. 10 lakhs each in favour of the deceased family members.

G. M Saroori visited landslide hit Bathri village





Visited DHK; enquires about wellbeing of patients

KAHARA, APRIL 24: - Former Minister and Vice President JKPCC, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori visited Bathri village of Kahara tehsil where more than a dozen houses have been damaged due to landslide yesterday.

Former Minister was accompanied by Sarpanch Bathri, Chowdhary Mohd Aslam, Chowdhary Hasham Din, Farooq Ahmed, Riyaz Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Abdul Qayoom Mir and family members of affected families remained present.

Mr. Saroori met the affected families and assessed the damaged caused to these houses.

He asked the district administration for reallocation of the affected families to safer places. He also asked for deputing the various teams comprised of District Officer to monitor situation regularly.

Mr. Saroori asked the district administration for preparing the detail report of the damaged cause to the property due to landslide at an earliest so the immediate compensation could be provided to the victims under SDRF scheme. He also urged Governor administration for releasing Rs. 5 lakhs each to the victims for reconstructing of their houses.

While interacting with the affected families, Mr. Saroori assured them that every possible help would be provided in reconstruction of their houses. He further instructed the villagers to stay away from the sliding zone.

Later Mr. Saroori visited District Hospital Kishtwar here to enquire about the health of various patients from Kishtwar and Doda district.

Mr. Saroori interacted with the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital and assured them all help. He asked the doctors about the status of the patients and was also briefed by the doctors about the treatment being extended to the person undergoing treatment. He instructed the Hospital authorities and Doctors to provide every required medical facility to the patient so that they do not feel any inconvenience. Mr. Saroori also wished for early recovery of the patient.

Religious Education transform a person into human being, helps him to differentiate between evil & good: Saroori







Hatred and communalism can be conquered only through education

Kishtwar, April 23:  Stressing on the need of importance of education in developing society, Former Minister and JKPCC Vice President, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has said that communalism and hatred can be conquered only through education. 

Mr. Saroori was speaking at an annual function of a Madrasa at Chatroo, Chabba Kahara, Keshwan Thakrie and Tatani Saroor areas.

While addressing the gathering of students, prominent citizens and religious scholars, Mr. Saroori said that hatred and communalism have no space in present society and urged the students to arm themselves with modern means of education so that they can compete and beat the difficult time through his visionary thinking that can only be attain through education. 

“My massage to all those children’s who participated in these programes is---- to arm yourself with knowledge, arms yourself with information and that can only be gain through schools and it is only due to educational institution like Madrasa that you can conquered the world” said Saroori.

Mr. Saroori said that education helps the man to spread the message of peace and communal harmony so that long lasting peace could be achieved in Jammu and Kashmir. He hoped that the golden era will be back and this region will be admired for its tolerance and secular principals. He slams lack of vision for degrading in moral education added that peace and communal harmony could be achieved only though practicing of religious preaches. He said that value of religious preaching’s like chapters on Prophet Mohammad & Prophet Essa are missing from books these days and demanded for inclusion of the religious chapters in syllabus of school books. 

Talking about the importance of modern and religious education in developing society, Mr. Saroori said that a quality education helps a person to become a human that can help him to differentiate between evil and good.

Mr. Saroori said that it is the responsibility of every individual to impart a quality education to their children’s by family members added that the role of Islamic Institutes like Darzgah’s, Madrasa is important in imparting the education to people of not only Kishtwar District, but Chenab valley as whole. He said that it is due to these religious schools that education is imparted to the society by this school. 

He said every individual is responsible for what we are witnessing today in the society in terms of lacks of moral and religious education added that without inculcating religious education in the schools, the society as a whole will have to suffer and offered its full support to the management of Madrasa in establishing a religion based courses in the school.
