Congress delivers fruits of equitable development during UPA regime: Saroori




Country has seen communal tension and no progress during BJP Government

Addressed series of Congress workers meetings in Thakrie block

THAKRIE, APRIL 08: - Reiterating his party’s resolve to ensure equitable development in all the three regions of the State, Former Minister and Vice President JKPCC, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today while series of Congress workers meetings at Sarawan, Sirgwari, Keshwan,  and Kuriya areas of Thakrie block today said that Congress Government has always focused on the development and raising infrastructure in rural and remote areas of the State irrespective the last five years of BJP government, the Country has seen only communal tension and no development took during NDA regime.

Mr. Saroori urged the people of the Chenab region to vote decisively in favour of Congress Party. He said the Congress had ensured good governance and fast track development that was characterised by all-round and equitable development, efficiency, transparency and people-friendly image.

Asserting that the UPA Governments successfully broke the myth that development is a utopian dream, Saroori said that it was practically demonstrated by the Congress party to deliver the fruits of development equitably and judiciously mostly in backward and far flung areas. He said that this proactive developmental agenda left a deep imprint on the hearts and minds of the people, which the BJP failed to too any concrete steps on developmental vise during the past five years in the Country. “We made ‘development’ as a narrative and discourse in the Country, and dispersed the fruits of development beyond the confines of the Urban cities”, Mr Saroori said and added that Congress for the first time made a serious and determined attempt to initiate developmental activities in the far flung and remote areas of the State, especially the Chenab region which suffered neglect again from 2014.

Emphasizing that only Congress can ensure continuity in the ongoing developmental activities in backward regions like Chenab Valley and rest are all to exploit and divide the people on religious lines, Saroori sought support of the people to implement the ‘development model’ of Congress in the State. He said that the landmark decision of create new administrative units in the state including Tehsil and Block status for Thakrie in which deliberately no Tehsildar was posted in the Thakrie by the BJP. He said Tehsil for Thakrie would have alleviated the hardships of the people of this backward region, and could have given a new thrust to the developmental process in the Thakrie.

Urging the people of Chenab region to maintain similar unity and togetherness which they have shown since 2002, Saroori said that enemies of Chenab Valley are unnerved by the progress which the people of this region. “BJP tried to divide and polarise the people of Chenab Valley only to stall their progress and development, but I am very happy that people have now understood the game plan and are ready to vote with sagacity and wisdom to frustrate their nefarious agenda”, said Saroori and appealed to all the voters to go to their polling stations and caste votes in favour of Congress candidates on 18th April.

Prominent among those Mohd Saleem, Abdul Hameed, Sajjad Kiraypak, Mohd Yunus, Ronak Singh, Shamasdin Hussain, Shahnawaz Hussain, Fareed Ahmed, Mohd Shafi, Abdul Jabbar, Tariq Hussain, Bashir Ahmed, Mohd Amin, Nissar Ahmed, Shakir Hussain, Anayat Hussain, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Haroon Ahmed and people in large attended the workers meetings.
