Maidan thrown open for traffic
KISHTWAR, APRIL 28: -
Former Minister J&K, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that with the snow
clearance work on Kishtwar-Sinthantop-Anantnag national highway going on in
full swing, the road will be thrown open for vehicular movement on May 15th. As
today the road has been opened till Sinthan Maidan.
Mr. Saroori said that
after opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan road, it will make shortest road connectivity
between the people District Doda and Kishtwar with summer capital Srinagar.
He appealed to the
people of Jammu and Kashmir to visit the Sinthan which would boost the tourism
in the area. “Increase in tourist traffic will resuscitate the economy of poor
people of the area as it is the only source of income for them and also the
beauty of Sinthan will be highlighted in a positive way,” he said.
Mr. Saroori also urged
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Mr. Angrez Singh Rana to
direct officials of Kishtwar development authority (KDA) and ensure to make all
the restaurants from Mugalmaidan to Sinthan Top functional and provide best
service to the tourists.
