Presented memorandum regarding the problems being faced by peoples
Kishtwar, July 09: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori held Public Grievance redressal camp-cum-general public meetings to listen to grievances of the people living in Patshallah and Chatroo areas of District Kishtwar.
Officers of PHE, Education, PDD, PWD, JKPCC, RDD, CAPD, Health department, Local Congress leaders including Mohd Iqbal Keen, Sarfraz Khan (Gillu), Abid Hussain, Akhtar Tatani, Chowdhary Issaq, Chowdhary Misroo, Divan Chand, Dev Raj beside people in large attended the camp.
The people highlighted their issues and demanded non-payment of MGNREGA wages, up gradation of schools, overcharging by traders, better medical facilities, facilities regarding Veterinary Services, drinking water and better staff position in the schools.
Saroori, while addressing the people, said that safety of life and property of common masses should be the first priority of the administration.
Regarding MGNREGA payment “He said Rural Development Department (RDD) is short of funds to clear the liability. He said MGNREGA is a hard -earned legal right of the workers and said state government efforts are on for early release of liabilities from central government. He also urged the Union government for early release of funds to state government so that the same could be distributed among the poor job card holders waiting for release of wages since last over one year”, Saroori said.
Saroori assured the people that the pending wages will be cleared once the Rural Development department (RDD) receives payments from union government.
Regarding the complaint about the overcharging by the traders, the Saroori instructed Tehsildar Chatroo, Thathri, Kishtwar to conduct regular inspections of market to keep a check on quality of food and prices of essential commodities.
The CA&PD Department was directed to ensure regular supply of ration and K-Oil during the holy month. He appealed to the people not to accept sub-standard ration and complain with the concerned authorities in case of rotten ration supply.
Saroori asked the concerned officers of PHE and PDD to prepare water and power supply schedule to ensure uninterrupted supply of these vital services.
He also said that the government has involved the panchayats in the planning, execution and supervision of activities of 14 departments and hence the panches and Sarpanches should ensure that various schemes of these departments get properly implemented in their respective areas.
The Sarpanches of Tipri, Patshallah and Chatroo besides the local political leaders presented their memorandum regarding the problems being faced by them on account of Electricity, K. Oil and drinking water.
MLA Inderwal gave on spot instructions to the concerned officials to address these problems in a time bound manner and ensure speedy disposal of all the matters.
Later, Saroori distributed cheques of financial assistance among the beneficiaries under old age pensions scheme besides Mohd Israeil, Kareem Baksh, Chowdhary Masood, Yog Raj, Mohd Akhtar and others joins Congress party in-front of Mr. Saroori.
