Start the work on 2nd phase of RGGVY: Saroori

Demanded relief compensation from PDD to Chatroo electric victims

Kishtwar, February 02: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of Bashir Ahmed Sheikh son of Abdul Gani Sheikh and Chowdhary Noor Hussain son of Abdul Kareim resident of Chatroo.

Saroori expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and has conveyed his sympathy. He prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed souls beside a place to them in a heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.

Telephonically Saroori ask the SE PDD and Executive Engineer PDD Kishtwar to immediately pay the compensation in favour of Bashir Ahmed resident of Dumber Chatroo a Public Health Engineering (PHE) employee while working on dumber Water supply scheme received an electric shock from LT line and died on spot and Chowdhary Noor Hussain resident of Gagrinmarh Chatroo who while resting in the green field also received an electric shock and died on spot.

Saroori said it is the duty of Power development department (PDD) Kishtwar either pays the compensation to the effected families or give employment to one of their family members in PDD department.

He blames the PDD for the negligence and said that despite releasing the funds to the tune of Rs. 140 Cr for maintenance of HT/LT network, but said that in his constituency most of the electric wire are barbed and were connected with trees threatening the life of common masses.

Saroori has urge the Commissioner Secretary PDD to immediately start the work on 2nd phase of Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) “departmentally” to cater to the leftover un-electrified villages in the state including those of Erstwhile Doda district, as since past six months no one came to tender the said work.

He has also expressed concern over the non-replacement of large number of damaged transformers installed under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidhyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) in the Block Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Drabshalla, Thathrie, Sarthal, Kontwara, Bunjwah, Khara, Thathri, Bhalessa of district Kishtwar and Doda.

Saroori has demanded to replace the damaged transformers with new transformers compatible with the electric load of the area electrically connected to the transformer.
