G. M Saroori termed arrest of Jamat leaders as political vendata at the time of elections

 
If government has any proof about the specific involvement of any leader with militant organization, he should be prosecuted as per the law individually instead of mass scale arrest 

Jammu March 03: Former Minister and Vice President JKPCC, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today termed the arrest of the Jamat leaders at the time when elections are round the corner as uncalled and politically motivated. 

While interacting with the media persons, Mr. Saroori said that Jamat-e-Islami is an organization who is working in the field of social service and religious education since last several decades. He said that the step taken by the government has jeopardize the future of thousands of poor students and the employees working in various schools of JeI added that the government should reconsider its decision that could create division and alienation within the society.

Saroori said that if government has any proof about the specific involvement of any leader with militant organization, he should be prosecuted as per the law individually instead of banning and mass scale arrest of its leader that could lead to law and order problem.

He said that he had never seen any activity of 72 year olds Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Malik which is anti national or pro militancy. He said that similar is the case with Abdul Majeed Sheikh and Ghulam Qadir Butt, all three from Kishtwar added that they had rendered their services as teachers for years together before they retired from their services and dedicated themselves towards religious and social education.

Mr. Saroori called for immediate release of all the three arrested leaders beside also called upon Governor Satya Pal Malik to relook over the issue of arresting Jel in the state.
