In Thathri and Khara, Congress seeks vote for secularism




Saroori, Niaz, Naresh, Goni, Sheikh Mujeeb campaigns for Azad

Thathri (Doda), 24 March: - In connection with its Congress election campaigning committee today reached Thathri and addressed mammoth public gatherings at Thathri and Khara area of district Doda.

The members of Campaigning committee are Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, MLA Bhaderwah Mohammad Sharief Niaz, MLC Naresh Gupta, Advocate and congress leader from Bhaderwah Mohammad Aslam Goni and Senior Congress Leader from Doda Sheikh Mujeeb addressed the mammoth gatherings here at Thathri and Khara of Inderwal Constituency, in which more than 10,000 people from Thathri, Saroor, Bunjwah, Khara and its adjoining areas had gathered at the different rallies venue to listen to the members of Congress campaigning committee.

Congress yesterday kick started the election campaign for the ensuing Parliament polls from the Azad hometown of Bhaderwah and urged peoples and workers to vote in favour of congress candidate from Udhampur-Kathua parliament seat Ghulam Nabi Azad and highlighted the works done by him and urged upon people to cast their vote in his favour.

While addressing the mammoth gathering today at Thathri and Khara Saroori stressed the facts that now is the time for people to realize that they should vote for India’s secularism and urge to serve the people irrespective of caste, colour and creed and urged the people to vote in favour of coalition INC-NC candidate Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad.

He urged people to not to fall a prey to divisive forces which are hell bent upon disintegrating our country in the name of religion or region.

In post independence era, only Congress has been able to tap natural resources, build mega dams, set up industrial houses, built road networks, bring in revolution in agriculture sector and generate enough employment for our youth', he said adding that contrarily, some parties ever since their existence have been trying to divide people in the name of religion and region merely to snatch power.

Congress, be it at Centre or State, Saroori said stands for equitable development of people.
In his address Mohammad Sharief Niaz seeks votes for Congress candidate, G. N. Azad.  He said that it is because of strong economic policies of Congress that our country steered clear out of worst ever recession in the world. He said that Congress has always played a major role in unity and integrity of the State and the country.

Niaz urged the people to reject such forces who create hatred and division among people for their narrow political interests and vote for secular and progressive parties like Congress in order to safeguard the interests of state and the nation.

While speaking on the occasion District Congress president and MLC Naresh Gupta said that it is only due to Azad sb that our state is back on the rails of peace, progress and prosperity. Gupta said that election of G N Azad would strengthen Congress and keep communal forces at bay.

Goni, Mujeeb and other speakers appealed to the people to cast their votes in favour of son of the soil Ghulam Nabi Azad as he has worked for the development of the Jammu and Kashmir for the last 30 years.

Later Congress supporters danced to the drumbeats and busted fire crackers on roads beside party activists headed by G M Saroori and M S Niaz held the march through main bazaar of Thathri and Khara for seeking vote in favour of party candidate G N Azad.

The prominent among those Congress Vice President district Doda Abdul Rashid Kandar, Congress block President Thathri Mohammad Iqbal Teli, Block President Drabshallah Mohammad Iqbal Keen, Congress Block President Khara Ghulam Haider Wani, Working block President Asgar Khangi, Working block president Khara jai Dev, President IYC Inderwal Mohammad Latief Mughal, Vice President NSUI district Kishtwar Ahahmer Sehzad, Congress local leaders including Mohammad Sultan, Akhtar Tatani, Khalid Sheikh, Farooq Ahmed, Chowdhary Issaq, Abdul Razzak, Noor Mohammad, Hari Ram, Ali Mohammad, Mohd Shafi, Raj Kumar, Chaman Lal, Sarfraz Khan, Nek Alam, Waseem Ul Haq, Mansoor Ahmed, Mohd Rafique, Noor Maey, Abid Hussain, Mushtaq Ahmed, Haji G M Mir, Haji Abdul Latief, Mohd Razan, Haji Ghulam Hussain Parray, Hussain Parray, Bashir Ahmed Sirwal, Chowdhary Hasham, Mohammad Shafi Saroori and people in large were present on the occasions.
