Inaugurates Butt residence hotel and Congress election office at Thathri

Khara (Thathri), October 30: - Kicking off the second leg of his campaign, Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, who is also Congress candidate for Inderwal constituency, today, conducted a whirlwind road-show in the Khara and Patshallah areas.

G. M. Saroori participated in about four road shows organized by Congress leaders and workers of these areas and interacted with cross sections of the people.

During his day long road shows that concluded late in the evening, while addressing the mammoth gatherings Saroori said Congress is committed to overall development of all the three regions of the state especially hilly, backward, remote, mountainous and border areas. He appealed people to work for strengthening the party in the best interest of the people of Inderwal.

He urged the people to remain vigilant against the machinations of the parties like BJP, PDP and NC the main agenda of which is to polarise the situation and benefit from division in the society and frustrate their designs while maintaining age old tradition of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony. He said their main plank during the ensuing elections will be to divide the masses.

While interacting with the people at numerous villages including Khara, Thathri, Patshalla, Naki, Tipri, Gantura, Nagni Patshalla, Chapli, Shakren areas Saroori said that he was aware of hardship being faced by the resident of these areas. He highlighted, “Congress is the only party which has initiated tremendous development works in all spheres in the Inderwal constituency. There was a time from 1947 to 2002 Inderwal people did not get enough food grains to cater. But now with the people oriented policies of Congress, Inderwal Assembly segment got 12 month free ration in a phase manner from 2002 to 2014.”

Other speakers claimed that “Your vote in favour of the Ghulam Mohammad Saroori will be the vote for progress and prosperity of Inderwal.” They also appealed to the people to vote in favour of G. M. Saroori Congress candidate from Inderwal Assembly segment on 25th November.

Office bearers and Workers of Congress party today also established and inaugurated Congress election office at Thathri as part of preparing for the upcoming assembly election. The office was inaugurated by Mr. G. M. Saroori in presence of large number of workers from Thathri and Phigsoo areas.

Earlier Saroori also inaugurated "Butt residence hotel” at Thathri Doda. While inaugurating the newly hotel owner by Mansoor Ahmed Butt, Saroori said that the restaurants and hotels are the part and parcel of development of the area. They hope that more people will come forward in the field of hotels and restaurants so that the demand of accommodation as well as food industry could be meted out. He stress upon the owner to the restaurant to maintain quality and hygiene inside the restaurant and extended him his best wishes for his success.

Later around 30 people including Shahnawaz Ahmed, Ishrat Ahmed, Irshad Ahmed, Javed Ahmed, Sajad Ahmed, Tariq Hussain, Shah Din, Amanuallah, Mohd Shafi, Ashiq Hussain, Mudassir Wani President PDP Trankhle, Mehboob Butt, Hafiz Zargar, Amanullah, Ahamdullah Tantray, Shanbir Ahmed and others from Khara areas have joined Congress party in presence of Mr. Saroori

Result in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir during parliamentary polls won’t be repeated in Assembly elections: Saroori

Kishtwar, October 29: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today addressed party meeting from Tehsil Thakrie, Sarthal, Phigsoo, Thathri, Khara and Bhalessa areas at his residence Kishtwar.

In his address Saroori said to the workers be ready for the Assembly election and to ensure success. “We have to make our party strong at each level so that we win the Assembly election with good success and take Jammu and Kashmir State forward. You should keep this enthusiasm and feeling alive because now the time for the test is coming. This is the last months to make this party strong as 25th November is the voting day in the Inderwal,” Saroori said.

Saroori told workers that results of the Parliamentary elections won’t be repeated in Assembly elections. “I feel Parliament results won’t have any impact on the Assembly. There are 16-20 MLAs in a Parliamentary constituency and the candidate has no touch with the Assembly segments and there are local issues involved. I feel that leads in the Assembly segments in parliamentary polls won’t matter in the Assembly election. It will depend upon the candidate who is more popular in a particular segment. The number of candidates in a particular Assembly constituency will also impact the results. I don’t think the result in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir during the parliamentary polls will be repeated in J&K Assembly election”, Saroori said.

Other speakers listed the steps taken by Mr. Saroori during the last 12 years for the Inderwal Assembly segment beside highlighted the Congress vision for development, peace and prosperity in the state. They asked the people not to fall prey to the forces who are adment to divide people on caste, community and regional lines to meet their political ends.

Drabshalla (Kishtwar), October 28: - Claiming that the Congress party is fully geared up for the ensuing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today exuded confidence that the party will emerge victorious and form a stable government.

 
Inaugurating election office at Drabshalla in district Kishtwar, Saroori asked the party functionaries associated with election office to take upon the responsibility to remain in touch with the party units at all levels for better co-ordination and management of election campaign.

 
Speaking on the occasion, Saroori said his party is fighting the election on the promise of development. He said his report card is in front of general public and which is enviable as the Inderwal constituency has been steered on the path of development and peace, the two most important achievements that eluded for a long. He said the developmental tempo will continue with renewed vigour in all the areas of the constituency.

 
He asked the leader, workers to spread the messages of Congress party in every nook and corner of the constituency and apprise people of programme and policies of Indian National Congress that are aimed at ensuring equitable development of all the areas.

 
Saroori also addressed workers meeting from Bunjwah, Saroor, Sarthal, Kontwara, Drabshalla, Khara, Bathri, Bhatyas, Bhalessa, Thathri, Phigsoo areas at his residence Kishtwar and asked them to pull up their socks for assembly elections.

 
He exhorted the party workers to fan out in their areas and make people aware about the progress registered during last twelve years. He further asked them to get united to defeat the nefarious designs of the communal forces.

Sarthal (Kishtwar), October 26: - Congratulating people of Sarthal on receiving Tehsil and CD block status in the recently announced Cabinet decision on New Administrative Units, Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that over the past twelve years several historic pro-people decisions has taken which have immensely benefited people in the Inderwal.

Saroori on reaching at Sarthal was accorded a warm welcome where thousands of villagers from Agral, Moharwari, Dada, Karool, Angara, Bhagra, Ghan, Pura, Chandali and other adjoining areas took out a massive victory rally on foot in Sarthal where participants raised slogans in favour of Saroori and hail his effort for fighting for the rights and demands of the people of Sarthal.

Addressing a huge gathering at Sarthal, Saroori asserted that his cherished dream to make the Inderwal constituency as a model constituency has almost fructified adding that there was hardly any habitation left in the area where pleasant winds of development have not touched during the last 12 years.

He said that during the last twelve years in Inderwal constituency, several projects have been initiated for the overall development of the area which includes two Tourist Reception Center (TRC’s), parks, guest house at Sarthal beside a network of road from Hasti-Ghan road is almost complete, Ghan-Chandali, Bimalnag-Bangar and Drabshalla-Tatani and would be developed a tourist circuit, 80% Electrification of hilly areas of his assembly segment, two Receiving Stations at Chatroo and Thathri, 6 PHC buildings in constituency, besides construction of roads under PMGSY, bridges, new schools, Health Sub-Centres, Aganwari’s and other infrastructure. He said that projects taken in hand on completion it would change the socio- economic profile of the people of the area and will make Inderwal a model constituency.

Saroori said that the promises made during the 2008 elections as per the aspirations of the people have been fulfilled through its several welfare and developmental projects.

Others speaker expressed their gratitude to Saroori for strongly pursuing the cause of granting new administrative units and said it is the fruit of constant efforts of G M Saroori in this regard.

Warm Reception given to Saroori at Thakrie


 
 
Says the socio-economic landscape in far-flung areas has received significant fillip

Thakrie (Kishtwar), October 24: - After the declaration of Tehsil, CD block status for Thakrie area of district Kishtwar by the cabinet. Today a warm reception was given to Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori at Thakrie where hundreds of villagers took the victory rally on foot from Hurna to Higher secondary school Thakrie some 2 km’s where participants gave warm reception to him and raise slogans in favour of Saroori.

Congratulating the people of Thakrie on receiving Tehsil, cd block and niabats status in the recently announced Cabinet decision on New Administrative Units, he while addressing a huge gathering at Thakrie said with the initiation of various developmental projects especially in rural and far-flung areas, the socio-economic landscape in these areas has received significant fillip.

Mr. Saroori said that provision of all the basic facilities to the people at their door steps with equal opportunities of development and justice to all is mission of his life adding that no stone would be left unturned to come upto the expectations of the people.

He said he has with utmost honesty and obligation put in every possible effort  continuously since 2002 to uplift the living standard of the people of this socially and educationally backward constituency adding that Inderwal is perhaps, the  first hilly constituency in the erstwhile district Doda which has almost 70% percent road connectivity with highest number of medium and major bridges, adequate number of Health centres and a wide network of educational institutions comprising government colleges, higher, high and middle schools.

Saroori said that the promises made during the 2008 elections as per the aspirations of the people have been fulfilled by him through its several welfare and developmental projects. He cautioned the people against false propaganda of vested elements which Saroori said, were trying to hoodwink public opinion against the landmark achievements in the Inderwal constituency. He asked people to elect honest and dedicated candidates on the basis of their performance and out rightly reject opportunistic elements who want to grab power only to satiate their petty interests.

Other speakers and People of Thakrie hail the efforts of local MLA Inderwal, Mr. G. M. Saroori for doing justice and fulfilling the long cherished dream of people of Thakrie. Free medical camp organized at Mugalmaidan Kishtwar


Saroori inaugurates the camp; held public meetings at Kuchal and Hasti Kontwara

Mugalmaidan (Kishtwar), October 23: - Congress senior leader J&K and MLA Inderwal, Mr. G. M. Saroori conducted a ‘free Medical Camp’ for locals in the area of Mugalmaidan in Kishtwar district, today. The camp brought much required help of modern medical facilities to the locals.

The camp was inaugurated by Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, in presence of other civil dignitaries, Sarpanch, numberdars and villagers.

Saroori was speaking after inaugurating medical camp said “This noble gesture by the Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad of providing medical care to the poor villagers in remote rural area will strengthen the bond between the AWAM and the Congress party”.

He said that the health sector forms top priority of the Congress party and several measures have already been taken by Ghulam Nabi Azad as Union Health Minister to augment the infrastructure and improving the overall health scenario in the State.

The medical team including Dr Mohd Latief BMO PHC Chatroo, Dr. Sheikh Rais Physician, Dr Sudhir Singh Physician, Dr Shakeel Dental Surgeon, Dr Shazia Gynecologist, Dr Shanaz Gynecologist, Dr Sajid Surgeon, Dr Anil Surgeon, Dr Jaweriyah Khanam Medical Officer PHC Chatroo, Dr Javaid Wani MO PHC Chatroo, Dr Syed Tajasam D/D PHC Chatroo, and other paramedical staff of PHC Chatroo examined the patients.

During the camp the locals were educated about various diseases and prevention from them by placing charts on the issue of health. About 600 patients including women and children were treated and provided free medicines to the needy patients. A talk on health and hygiene was also conducted by the BMO Chatroo during the camp.

The locals of the village and nearby villages expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the medical camp at their doorstep. Such camps and initiatives help in strengthening ties between the people, administration and the party as well as between communities maintaining communal harmony.

Later Saroori held two public meetings at Kuchal and Hasti Kontwara areas to take stock of the problems faced by the people living in these backward and remote areas of district Kishtwar where people complaint about the drinking water, free ration to the flood victims. On spot Saroori telephonically called Director CAPD Jammu and AD Food to immediately provide six month free ration to the public which state government earlier this month has announced, they assured Mr. Saroori that from tomorrow free ration will be distributed among the victims.

He assured the general public that their problems will be addressed in a phased manner on top priority.

PDP, BJP, NC workers join Congress in Inderwal: Saroori welcomes workers in party fold

Kishtwar, October 22: - Asking the BJP, PDP to refrain from misleading the people by raking up divisive issues, Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said Jammu & Kashmir is a symbol of communal harmony and politicians of all shades in the state must not play politics of religion and region and work towards peace and harmony in the state. He said nobody should divide the people on regional, religious or communal lines.

The opposition parties in J&K PDP & BJP and ruling NC has suffered a major jolt with parting way by large number of its workers and joining the Congress party.

As many as 50 people from PDP, BJP and NC including Shokat Tantary, Liyakat Ahmed with their supporters from Nagni Bhalessa joined Congress at a function organized at Saroori residence others who joined at Phigsoo including Abdul Kabir Malik, Asgar Ali, Bilal Ahmed, Irshad Ahmed, Nissar Ahmed, Nadeem Hussain, Altaf Hussain, Ayaz Ahmed, Mohd Yoonas Malik, Ghulam Nabi & many more.

While welcoming the new entrants, Saroori said that after the inspiration and people friendly policies of the Congress party, such large number of workers from PDP, NC and BJP has joined the Indian National Congress. He asked them to serve the people and spread the programmes and policies of the Congress party at the grass root level.

The newly joined workers also addressed and said that they have full faith in the leadership of Mr. G. M. Saroori and have inspired by the development scenario in the Inderwal Assembly segment. They also highlighted that Mr. Saroori is real representative of general public and is having transparent policies which attracted them to join Congress party. They assured that they will work hard for strengthening the party in the areas.

Saroori also visited Thathri and took stock of functioning of Government Degree College (GDC) Thathri, CD Block office Thathri and Community Health centres (CHC) Thathri. He also attended a function at Phigsoo, organized in connection with Cricket match played between attended the attended the organized in connection with Cricket match played between two local Cricket Clubs. He announced that a sports stadium would be developed at Phigsoo provided people of the area have to give land for the said stadium to promote sports activities in the area. Besides, distributing prizes among the winner and runner up teams, Saroori disbursed Rs. 5000 to both the teams as a token of encouragement.

Later Saroori visited the residence of Abdul Samud from Kuriya to personally condole the demise of his mother and also condole the sad demise of Noor Din who died today at Thathri due to heart attack. Azad, Saroori greets people ahead of Diwali

Kishtwar, October 22: - Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.

In a message, Azad said the festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil and truth over falsehood. It underscores high values and the ethos of India’s great civilization. He said the feelings of warmth, love and joys which mark the celebratings of the festival adds colour to our composite heritage and promote amity and brotherhood.

He said that Diwali symbolised the elimination of all negative forces that impede our progress.

Congress Senior Leader J&K and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori also extended Diwali greetings to the people of the state and hoped that the festival would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity.

In his message, the MLA Inderwal observed that the festival stood for the triumph of truth over falsehood and of good over evil, highlighting the high values and ethos of Indian civilization.

Saroori hoped that the festival of lights would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity, tranquillity and secularism and prayed for the well-being of the people of the state.

Dozen people join hands with Congress in Inderwal

Many deputations called upon Saroori at Kishtwar

Kishtwar, October 21: - In a significant development, dozens of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and National Conference (NC) activists Tuesday joined Congress in Inderwal in presence of Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori here at his residence Kishtwar.

Prominent among those who has joined are Manoj Kumar, Mahinder Singh, Saif Ali, Prem Singh, Mansa Ram, Moti Lal, Nitin Mukesh, Hemat Raj and many others from Kansoo area of Bhalessa district Doda.

While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold Saroori said that by creating the new administrative units he has fulfilled the promise made to the people of Inderwal to bring the governance to their door steps.

“Joining of PDP, BJP and NC activist’s leaders in the party was a clear indication that there was a realization among the people that only Congress has the agenda to address their wishes and aspirations in J&K state and party is determined to change destiny of the people of JK,” he said. He exuded hope that with the joining of PDP, BJP and NC workers, the Congress would strengthen its base at the grassroots level in the area.

Saroori highlighted the achievements of Congress in Erstwhile Doda district and said that the party symbolizes amity, brotherhood and secular traits of the State. He further said that people friendly programs and policies of Congress party, has motivated the Youth of Inderwal to join the party.

He asked the people of Inderwal to remain cautious against the sinister designs of such elements and foil these by maintaining age-old unity and tranquility. Saroori said unity stands guarantee to the progress and development of the State and in this noble effort “you have to be active partners”.

The new entrants in the party, while speaking on the occasion, assured the party leadership that they would spread the visionary and pro-people agenda of the party in every nook and corner in the erstwhile Doda district. They reposed full faith and confidence in the leadership of G. M. Saroori and said that he has always stood for the cause of the people and took historical steps for the upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the society.

On the occasion many deputations from Bunjwah, Saroor, Sarthal, Khara, Thathri, Chatroo, Kuchal, Mugalmaidan, Kuriya and Thakrie apprised Mr. Saroori at his residence Kishtwar about their individual and collective problems pertaining to their area.

Saroori assured them that he would provide all possible assistance to mitigate and solve public grievances of their respective areas.

Saroori takes stock of tourist infrastructure projects



Inspected TRC Building and Bridge on Khara-Tanta road; visited medical camp

Khara (Bhalessa), October 19: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said that various proactive measures have been taken up to explore the immense tourism potential of the far off areas in the Inderwal constituency.

He called upon the concerned authorities to work with vigour and dedication to ensure the execution of ongoing projects well in time. Saroori who today visited Tehsil Khara of district Doda, to take on spot stock of the under execution road & tourism projects being carried out in the area.

While inspecting Rs 7.83 crore for developing Baderwah-Thathri-Bhalesa tourist circuit, he inspected under construction Tourist Reception Centers at Khara and informed that under the project another one would be constructed at Thathri besides construction of way side amenities, parks, viewing decks and public conveniences are also the components of the said project. He stressed upon the concerned executing agency that the project should be completed within stipulated time frame with all necessary modern facilities for the tourists.

He also inspected bridges constructed on Khara-Tanta road which is under construction by PMGSY at the cost of 13 crores. He directed Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Doda, to start the black topping on Khara-Jai road and also complete the 2nd abatement work on bridge Goila-Trankhel road at an earliest.

Saroori also visited the medical camp here at Khara which was sponsored by Ghulam Nabi Azad. He interacted with the patients, local people, Congress Leaders, Youth Congress members, Panchs and Sarpanchs of the area and exhorted all patients to utilise the facility of medical camps organised by him (Saroori) to identify their problems at an early stage. He underscored the need for organising more such camps in remote and hilly area for ensuring maximum benefits to the people by this type of health care facilities.

The camp witnessed an unprecedented response and the locals as well as people from adjacent villages came to attend the camp. During the medical camps, around 1500 patients were treated by the doctors today. Free branded medicines were also provided to the patients.

On the occasion people have requested Mr. Saroori for organizing such types of medical camps in future also so that poor and needy are benefited. People of Khara were grateful to the Ghulam Nabi Azad for his concerted efforts and assistance in providing free medical aid at their door step and also to G. M. Saroori. Later he held the march through main bazar of Khara.

Saroori inaugurates free Medical camp

 
Distributed cheques of Rs 47 Lakhs among silk worm rearing beneficiaries

Chatroo (Kishtwar), October 18: - To avoid the threat of epidemic following flash floods, heavy rains and disease caused during Winter season, two medical camps was held one at Chatroo district Kishtwar and another one at Khara district Doda which was sponsored by Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad.

The camp was inaugurated by Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.

While addressing the gathering, Saroori hailed the efforts of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for setting up the four free medical camps here at Chatroo, Khara, Changa Gandoh and Bhaderwah and also appreciated his efforts of taking care of the health related problem of people in far flung areas. He emphasized on the importance of health  and assured the local population that Congress party will reach out to inhospitable terrain coupled with worsening climatic conditions as and when they need their help.

He exhorted all patients to utilise the facility of medical camps organised by him (Saroori) to identify their problems at an early stage. He underscored the need for organising more such camps in remote and hilly area for ensuring maximum benefits to the people by this type of health care facilities.

During these free medical camps, the team of doctors including Dr Mohd Latief BMO PHC Chatroo, Dr. Sheikh Rais Physician, Dr Sudhir Singh Physician, Dr Shakeel Dental Surgeon, Dr Shazia Gynecologist, Dr Shanaz Gynecologist, Dr Sajid Surgeon, Dr Anil Surgeon, Dr Jaweriyah Khanam Medical Officer PHC Chatroo, Dr Javaid Wani MO PHC Chatroo, Dr Syed Tajasam D/D PHC Chatroo, and other paramedical staff of PHC Chatroo and Health Centre Khara did health examination of the inhabitants and provided consultation, counseling to the needy of all age groups including children, women and elders. They also provided information, education and communication regarding diseases caused especially during winters & other diseases and made them aware about the precautions to be taken to prevent these diseases.

Approx 1300 people from adjoining areas availed the facilities offered by these two medical camps. Free medicines of branded companies including Cipla, Cadilla, Wenz, Pfizer etc for the smooth functioning of these camps were also distributed to the patients, after their examination by the doctor.

People of Chatroo and Khara Bhalessa areas expressed their gratitude towards Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad by providing such medical facilities at their door steps and have also thanked to Mr. G. M. Saroori.

Later Mr. Saroori attended the function organised by the Sericulture Department at Chatroo. He distributed cheques worth Rs 47 lakhs among beneficiaries for setting up their own silk worm rearing sheds.

On the occasion, Deputy Director Sericulture Kishtwar, Mr. Darshan Singh, officers of Sericulture, CAPD, Revenue, Education, other officers, Sarpanches, Panches, Local Congress Leaders, Youth Congress members were also present.
