Saroori visits to take stock of the situation




Thathri – Gandoh road opens after one week

Thathri (Doda), October 05: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori continuous to reach out at landslide zone at Thathri and took stock on Thathri-Gondoh road which remained closed for over one week.

Saroori who himself supervised on the said road stretch with the coordination District Administration Doda and Kishtwar. He was accompanied by officers of PMGSY, R&B, GREF, RDD, PDD, PHE and other concerned Departments besides local Congress leaders.

The Thathri-Gondoh road at Dunadi area, which got damaged due to a huge land slide was made open for all the vehicular movement, the traffic on the said road stretch was cleared by General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) men, R&B department, PMGSY department, Police and civil administration for vehicular movement.

MLA Inderwal galvanized his all efforts and was personally supervising the restoration work round the clock which has provided much desired respite to the residents of Gondoh, Khara, Bunjwah, Bhatyas and other areas of Bhalessa region, which got disconnected from the District Headquarters due to damage caused to road connecting the area.

Saroori lauded all the efforts of Forest Department, Rural Development Department and other line departments serving in the area. He further said construction of temporary bridge (Trangdi) over Kalguni Nallah few days back by Forest Department for transshipment of the stranded passengers to the either side of the slide made respite to all the people over there.

It is pertinent to mention here that the shooting stones and slides were continuously moving down, besides there were large boulders hanging over the cliff. When the slide got stabilized all the department swung there machinery and cleared the slide.

Saroori also urge DDCs Kishtwar and Doda Mohd Javed Khan and Shyam Vinod Meena to submit the list of flood affected families and the quota of free ration at the earliest as from October the six month free ration will be provided to all the affected families. He also asked the DDCs to ensure availability of basic amenities like drinking water, Ration, essential commodities, un-interrupted power supply, and hassle-free transport to the people on the eve of Eid-Ul-Azha in Sub-Division Chatroo, Thakrie, Keshwan, Bunjwah, Saroor, Drabshallah, Sarthal, Kandani, Kandoth, Thathri, Phigsoo, Khara, Bhatyas, Bhalessa and other areas of Inderwal constituency.

Telephonically Saroori also asked the AD food Doda & Kishtwar to ensure the supply of rice, Atta, cooking gas and kerosene oil so that people of Inderwal constituency feel no shortage of these commodities. He called for close synergy among the concerned departments for hassle free facilities and services to the people. He also said that free ration to flood affected families be distributed on chullah basis as already decided by the state government.
