Saroori inaugurates free Medical camp

 
Distributed cheques of Rs 47 Lakhs among silk worm rearing beneficiaries

Chatroo (Kishtwar), October 18: - To avoid the threat of epidemic following flash floods, heavy rains and disease caused during Winter season, two medical camps was held one at Chatroo district Kishtwar and another one at Khara district Doda which was sponsored by Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad.

The camp was inaugurated by Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.

While addressing the gathering, Saroori hailed the efforts of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for setting up the four free medical camps here at Chatroo, Khara, Changa Gandoh and Bhaderwah and also appreciated his efforts of taking care of the health related problem of people in far flung areas. He emphasized on the importance of health  and assured the local population that Congress party will reach out to inhospitable terrain coupled with worsening climatic conditions as and when they need their help.

He exhorted all patients to utilise the facility of medical camps organised by him (Saroori) to identify their problems at an early stage. He underscored the need for organising more such camps in remote and hilly area for ensuring maximum benefits to the people by this type of health care facilities.

During these free medical camps, the team of doctors including Dr Mohd Latief BMO PHC Chatroo, Dr. Sheikh Rais Physician, Dr Sudhir Singh Physician, Dr Shakeel Dental Surgeon, Dr Shazia Gynecologist, Dr Shanaz Gynecologist, Dr Sajid Surgeon, Dr Anil Surgeon, Dr Jaweriyah Khanam Medical Officer PHC Chatroo, Dr Javaid Wani MO PHC Chatroo, Dr Syed Tajasam D/D PHC Chatroo, and other paramedical staff of PHC Chatroo and Health Centre Khara did health examination of the inhabitants and provided consultation, counseling to the needy of all age groups including children, women and elders. They also provided information, education and communication regarding diseases caused especially during winters & other diseases and made them aware about the precautions to be taken to prevent these diseases.

Approx 1300 people from adjoining areas availed the facilities offered by these two medical camps. Free medicines of branded companies including Cipla, Cadilla, Wenz, Pfizer etc for the smooth functioning of these camps were also distributed to the patients, after their examination by the doctor.

People of Chatroo and Khara Bhalessa areas expressed their gratitude towards Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad by providing such medical facilities at their door steps and have also thanked to Mr. G. M. Saroori.

Later Mr. Saroori attended the function organised by the Sericulture Department at Chatroo. He distributed cheques worth Rs 47 lakhs among beneficiaries for setting up their own silk worm rearing sheds.

On the occasion, Deputy Director Sericulture Kishtwar, Mr. Darshan Singh, officers of Sericulture, CAPD, Revenue, Education, other officers, Sarpanches, Panches, Local Congress Leaders, Youth Congress members were also present.
