Govt. wakes up from deep slumber, Taj visits snow bound areas of Chenab valley.

Govt. understand public plight, blames nature for present situation.

Kishtwar:- After being slammed by the local MLA’s of Chenab region for not taking an effective measure to restore the supply of essential commodities in snow bond Chenab valley, the government of Jammu and Kashmir finally wakes up from deep slumber and shift its focus on plight of the people of Chenab region presently facing what has been called as “Snow terror”. After being thrashed by his own party MLA’s, minister for PHE, Flood Control and irrigation Mr. Taj Mohud-Din Shah today visited different areas of Chenab valley along with MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and MLA Doda Abdul Majid Wani to cool down the tempers of the party workers as well as that off the general public who feel themselves hostage since last two weeks due to closer of Jammu-Kishtwar National Highway.
 
During his visit to Chatroo, Kishtwar, Gundow, Doda, Batyas, Bharat, and Ramban, Mr. Taj Mohud-Din Shah meets with the officials of District Administration and general public and listen the public grievances. While talking to the media persons at Kishtwar, the minister blames the nature for present crises and said that the government understands the problem faced by the general public in wake of heavy snowfall witnessed in the state in last two weeks.
“Our efforts always remains to keep the National Highway open, But I feel the nature is not with us since we open it on one day and a day after the snow comes and it was again blocked.” Said Taj Mohud-Din shah. He said that all such things are in the knowledge of the government and the government always thinking to explore the alternative routes like construction of Sangpora-Viloo tunel, Chenani-Nashri tunnel, Chatragala tunnel and Mughal road. He said that these projects are the long term measure taken by the government.
 
“In the long term plan these projects will be executed since these are the projects that cannot be constructed in a year or two, but they will take 5 to 10 years or even more to get completed before they started getting the benefit to the people of the state.” Said Taj Mohud-Din Shah. He said that the government has started the construction work on Chenani-Nashri tunnel and said that once this tunnel will be constructed, it will provide a bypass route and the patches like Patnitop could be avoided under present situation.
 
He said that the government has taken full care that Jammu-Sringar and Jammu-Kishtwar National Highways will remain open for which the government utilizes all its available resources.
“the problem we are face today is that the nature did not allow us to keep both the National Highway open, since intermediated snowfall prevented us to keep it open for longer period.” Said Taj Mohud-Din Shah.
 
“As far as today’s situation is concerned, there is continuous snowfall which keeps on adding more problems.” Taj Mohud-Din Shah added.
 
He said that they have opened the National Highway as of now and if god forgives us it will remain open.
 
“We have no control over the nature—people must have read in news paper that the normal life due to snow cripples in countries like US and Germany and traffic in cities like New York that too on plan roads comes to stand still.” Taj Mohud-Din Shah said. He said that the people in Jammu and Kashmir are living in mountainous areas and are habitual of these types of things, but in cities like New York, people are not habitual of such things which is not in over hands and is totally controlled by the nature.
 
“Government feels the problems faced by the general public and is fully aware about the problems faced by the people due to heavy snowfall.” Taj Mohud-Din Shah said. He said that the government has put its man and machinery on the war footing bases to restore the supply to all the regions that were cut off due to snow fall so that the helping hand could be provided to the people in the need of the hour.
 
“Let us pray together that nature will allow us to restore the supply of essential commodities.” Taj Mohud-Din Shah said. He said that as far as far flung areas of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan, the government has made an arrangement of airlifting of passengers to these areas.
He said that due to tuff mountainous terrains, the people living in Jammu and Kashmir as well as in Himachal Pradesh are facing the problems as compared to plan areas of the country.
He said that the concern of the government always remains to send his ministers to the affected areas and his today visit is also a part of it. “We are in constant touch with the concerned Deputy Commissioners to take appraisal of the problems faced by the general public so that the solution for the same could be found.” Taj Mohud-Din Shah maintained.
