Provide ex-gratia relief for snow affected people: Saroori

Saroori expresses grief over Death of 4 people in Palmar due to snow slides and road accident at Khooni Nallah 

Jammu, 19 Feb: Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori expressed grief and sorrow over the death of four persons in the erstwhile District Doda due to the snow slides in Palmar area of Kishtwar and also over the road accident at Khooni Nallah on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also demanded ex-gratia relief in favour of the next of kin of the deceased persons.

Saroori in a statement stated that some residential houses of the inhabitants, school buildings have been damaged due to heavy snow fall. He said that upper area of Kandini of Inderwal Constituency many house were totally damaged due to heavy snow fall.He demanded shifting of the villagers to nearby safer area. In addition to above due to heavy snow fall heavy losses have been incurred to the horticulture sector of the area in the Erstwhile Doda District. He demanded for immediate assessment of the losses suffered so far and release of funds for rectifying the losses/damages.

Saroori said Political Advisor Mubarak Gul had indicated 3 months free ration in snow drought hit area of Erstwhile District Doda last month but yet government had not done any exercise on it.

Saroori demanded that keeping in view unprecedented snow fall in the Erstwhile District Doda some far flung area like Saroor, Patnazi, Bhalesha, Chatroo, Paddar, Marwah, Dacchan, Ghat, and more which has been cut off from the rest of the State due to blockage of roads may be provided essential commodities like medicine, ration and K. Oil through air service so that the people of this area may not suffer any problem anymore. He demanded sanction of ex-gratia relief in favour of the sufferers.

Meanwhile Several Congress party leaders including State Secretary Congress Thakur Jughal Bhandari , General Secretary Kishtwar Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Youth Congress Leader Shariq Saroori, Senior Congress leader Mohinder Singh Parihar, District President Congress Seva Dal Ravi Kumar, Block President Congress Abdul Subhan Kichloo, Sarpanch Ch Ishaq, Satish Kumar, Piyaray Lal Sharma , Block President Chatroo Haji Ghulam Qadir, Ab Salam Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed (Gillu), NSUI District President Kishtwar Saqib Lone, NSUI President Degree College Kishtwar Aftab Siddiqui thanks to Union and State Health Minister for giving the Para Medical staff to 6 health centre of Distrct Kishtwar including Sangpora, Drubel, Patshala,Ghan, Burdhar and Sigdi Bhatta which were closed from the last 1 month after the implementation of the detachment order issued by the health department.
