Jammu: In a statement Youth Congress Leader Shariq Saroori has asked the youth and congress party workers to gear up for upcoming Local Body elections which will be held in May. He said that Congress party is working for the development at all levels including construction of roads and provision of drinking water. He further said that development would be target of the party.
Saroori demanded improvement in the power scenario in Thatri-Bhalesha area, the installation of high capacity transformer instead of 25 KV transformers for availability of proper voltage in remote villages. He also demanded restoring essential services and providing immediate relief to the affected families due to recent heavy snowfall in erstwhile District Doda. He demanded rehabilitation policy for Gujjar and Bakerwals community and compensation for those whose cattle died in recent snow and heavy rain fall. He urged the government to direct the concerned District Development Commissioners to provide immediate relief to the people and initiate measures to protect them from the natural calamities.
Saroori criticize Governor Address and said erstwhile district Doda find no mention in the address.
Saroori demanded 3 month free ration and Atta instead of wheat to the rationees in the remote and far-off parts of the Erstwhile Doda District as there were no proper grinding services are available and early commencement of work on newly Polytechnic and Degree Colleges.
