Work in many health centers in Kishtwar paralyzed after Govt. detachment order.

Kishtwar:- After the implementation of the detachment order issued by the state health department, many health centers in rural areas of Kishtwar District virtually became non functional as the health department fail to provide alternative staff in these centers who are considered as backbone of rural health mission in state of Jammu and Kashmir and particularly in Kishtwar District where more than 85% area is unconnected by means of roads.

According to public reports health center of Sangpora, Drubel, Patshala,Ghan, Burdhar, Sigdi Bhatta, and other rural areas of Kishtwar District like Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan and Padder get closed since no paramedical staff or doctors are available in these centers as a result of more than 20 health centers in Kishtwar District are presently locked as a result of which over 1 Lakh population in Rural areas of the District is without any medical facilities, due to which heavy rush of patients has been witnessed at various Tehsil level hospitals as well as at District Hospital Kishtwar. Beside health centers, ISM center at Kishtwar is also said to be closed due to non availability of doctors.
The people urged upon the state health minister as well as to Union Health Minister to make necessary arrangement for making appointments of Doctors/Paramedical staff in these health centers so that the people of rural areas of Kishtwar District will get medical attention at door step as was promised by the central as well as by the state government.
MLA Inderwal G M Saroori said i had already discuss this matter with Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He said i will raise this issue on the floor of house. CMO Kishtwar Dr. Ajay Gupta for knowing the status of various health centers as well as the reason thereof, Mr. Gupta simply said that department is already on job to make full time arrangements for making all the health centers functional in Kishtwar District.
