Distribution of solar lights; Saroori intervention defuse tension in Mugalmaidan



 


Saroori visited Sarthal to sort out road dispute

Sarthal/Mugalmaidan, July 08: - With the intervention of Vice-President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal  Ghulam Mohammad Saroori,  the tension in Mughal Maidan and Chatroo in Kishtwar District was defused which led to smooth distribution of Solar lights in the area sanctioned by the previous NC-Congress government.

The trouble started in the area after people took to streets and block Kishtwar-Sinthan highway for several hours after some BJP and PDP workers forcefully tried to stop the distribution of Solar Lights and were demanding the delivery of the same in favour of some un-sanctioned villages and their party activist, beside demanded for re-verification of sanctioned beneficiary lists to delay the distribution process going on smoothly.


The persons who had assembled at Mugalmaidan, Sub-Division Chatroo for collection of these Solar lights also held strong protest against DC Kishtwar and BJP leadership involved in creating ruckus during  distribution of solar lights of Inderwal constituency forcing Saroori intervention on police request so that the situation could brought under control.


While addressing the mammoth gathering of angry people, Saroori said that there is no question of stopping of distribution of Solar Lights as the list was prepared and cleared by DC Kishtwar himself. He said that BJP and PDP activist tried to disrupt the smooth process of distribution of solar lights that has caused law and order problem in the Chatroo area where people after travelling 40 km distance had reached to collect these solar lights.

“Some people from outside Chatroo are hell bent to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the Chatroo-- I will not allow them to succeed ”, Saroori said, ) added that such elements will be dealt strictly and won’t be allowed to disturb the peaceful environment. 


Saroori said that he has already submitted another list of 114 villages of Inderwal constituency to Union Government through JAKEDA for sanctioning of solar lights and only after the sanctioning of same, the other l beneficiaries will get solar lights in Inderwal constituency. He also ensured that the administration of Sub-Division Chatroo will distribute Solar lights to all those who have assembled here for collection of same.

Saroori than distributed the solar lights among the beneficiaries who were present in the Mugalmaidan and the whole exercise was carried out in presence of SDM Chatroo, Tehsildar Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, SDPO Chatroo, BDO Chatroo, concerned Sarpaches, Panches, Lambardars, Chowkidars and other prominent members of the area.


It was also decided with the administration of Sub-Division Chatroo that if anyone has doubt in the sanctioned beneficiaries list which was signed from the grass roots level to DC and was later sanctioned by GOI under UPA II regime only than the ADDC Kishtwar, SDM Chatroo, SDPO and SHO Chatroo will carry out the enquiry. He said that some person who are his political opponents always tries to plant fake and malicious news item against him in selective newspapers,  added that any such act of his political enemies will not deter him from doing public welfare works. He also informed that the distribution of solar lights in Inderwal constituency will be resumed on or after 24th of July, added that till than it is sufficient time for the administration to clear its doubt about the already prepared list of the beneficiaries.


Earlier MLA Inderwal G. M. Saroori said that by connecting various remote and inaccessible villages with the main land, the necessary connectivity is being provided to these which would ensure their socio-economic development, besides ensuring that the pace of development in other spheres of life is also accelerated.


Saroori said this while inspected widening of Hasti-Sarthal Devi Ji road which is constructed under CRF at an estimate cost of 15 crores and 12 km long Sarthal-Bhagran road which is being constructed by PMGSY department at an estimated cost of 10 crores. He also sorted out the dispute on Bhagran road to which the construction was stopped by the people of the area. 


Saroori listened to the problems of the landholders and directed the officials of PMGSY not to change the alignment of the said road and speed up the work, so that people of the area will get maximum benefit of the road.

He also directed Executive Engineer R&B Babar Hussain Ahanger to tender 1st five kilometers for metling and blacktopping on Hasti-Sarthal Devi Ji as large number of people from across the state and outside take part in the Sri Sarthal Devi Mata Yatra every year beside personally monitor this prestigious road.
