Demanded stern action against the culprits who are taking money for the
verification of ReT documents.
Kishtwar, July 16: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal Mr. G. M. Saroori today cautioned that widespread resentment was brewing up among thousands of Rehbar-E-Taleem teachers, casual labourers and daily wagers in Jammu and Kashmir as they have not been paid their salaries for the past several months.
In a statement here, Saroori demanded immediate release of wages and salaries of the ReT teachers, casual labourers and daily wagers to enable them to celebrate the Eid-Ul-Fitr like their brethren.
''The ReT teachers, casual labourers and daily wagers, numbering thousands, have not been their wages for the past several months. We expect that their salaries should be released before the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr...but even that has not been done as only few days has been left for Eid,'' Mr Saroori said.
He sought immediate intervention of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in getting released the salaries of ReT teachers, casual labourers and daily wagers, who have been engaged in different government schools, departments and public sector undertakings.
Mr. Saroori also expressed serious concern over the reports that some official in education department are taking Rupees 1200 to 2400 from the each ReT teacher's for the verification of the certificates and has demanded inquiry in to this matter. He further said that such a sordid state of affair now the education department is taking bucks from the ReT teachers for the verification.
Several deputations of ReT teachers, casual labourers and daily wagers also called on Mr. Saroori at his residence Kishtwar to put forth their long-pending demands.
